  • Ube is a sweet purple yam that comes from the Philippines and many other parts of the Asian region. It has a hint of coconut and vanilla-like taste making it the perfect flavor for a vibrant purple ice cream or shake. Follow this recipe for a copycat version to Maui’s local restaurant Cupie’s Ube Shake. #ube #milkshake #icecream

I can smell that "ube" flavor, amazing how the subconscious works like that. My parents would often buy Magnolia brand ice cream, and they would almost always get a corn-cheese flavor and an ube flavor. Mom taught me how to make ice cream sandwiches with Magnolia and bread rolls / pan de sal.
That being said, I'd love to try an ube shake. What a fun color 😋

Grimace Shake Should Be Ube Flavored

They discontinued that back in July, and I’m not sure McDonald’s would have been able to afford for ube syrup.

Or if you live in the US and there's a Seafood City, buy ube flavor from there instead of buying online

This recipe doesn't contain any actual ube. The "extract" isn't an extract but uses sweeteners, artificial ube flavouring, and colouring to mimic the natural product.
