This was the expansion I was most impressed with. The colors, music and experience were never matched in my opinion. Loved the draenei starting zones btw
Yup TBC has always held my most fondest memories of the game. I can remember so many things in each different zone and spent so much time in them, except for blades edge. WotLK had great zones too but me and my friends got burnt out by then. TBC was unique in that it felt the closest to vanilla in many different ways, were WotLK began a shift.
Brings back so many memories. I remember going up to the guard and clicking “professions” and wondering where the fuck “farming” was. Cause everyone kept saying I got this and that by “farming” lmfaoooooo holy fuck
Such a cool video! As you've mentioned yourself, I just simply wasn't fully aware of everything happening back when I played TBC. I did some of these dungeons and raids, but the sheer complexity and interconnectedness of all the endgame content is something nearly every game lacks nowadays. Crazy! Thanks for making this stellar video.
Yay, my favourite series is back! I absolutely loved the vanilla videos back in the day, was sad to see they weren't doing very well. I hope this one does better :)
Brilliant video--tremendously well done. BC is my favorite expansion, both because of Outland's spot-on otherworldly feel, and the wonderful friends I got to explore the world with (I hope life goes well for all the old Knights of Ysera from Scarlet Crusade).
This was when I started my WoW journey. Not at launch, but about halfway into the Xpac. Loved it. Poked around in every corner in the old world and Outland. I had three 70’s when Wrath dropped and had a great time there too.
36:20 If i remember correctly heroic keys required Revered status instead Honored at the time, i think they changed it to honored when they removed vial quest.
watching this as I level my alliance shaman on classic! Almost 60 and ready to go for Classic TBC launch this upcoming Tuesday! For me, it all started in BC in June of 2007. I had eventually mained an alliance shaman soon after getting my hunter to 70 and realizing we needed shaman, and to this day my shaman has been my main character. I am super excited to have it all come full circle, and this video only amplified these feelings. What a great overview, and I learned some things as well like the hiccups of TK which prevented anyone from doing MH. About to go watch the second part now. Get hyped everyone!
Good stuff, though what I miss most from those days was playing with my best buds. Those late nights were a joy and I miss them dearly. The killer looking Lock gear and meaningful/actually customizable talents were nice too. Oh, and all the fantastic vids from machinima in the vanilla/bc era~
@@zebuvardare7792 You know, that would actually be really cool... But as it was, every crafting profession (except alchemist and cooking) was completely useless.
I'm actually a big fan of the attunement style of doing things. It's a good way of gating content and gives players an incentive to do the content. One example is Wildstar, which is sadly dead in the MMO graveyard. But that had a lengthy attunement process to enter it's glorious raid, and I loved it, except I couldn't find a guild to raid with at the time, not any that fit my schedule
Personally, I found running a prot paladin in TBC was the best experience I've ever had in WoW. It was so unique, and so difficult to balance properly, while at the same time makes the paladin practically invincible once properly balanced. It was so much fun.
Im still waiting to see these mythical invincible pallies, cuz healing them is a total chore, warriors are still the best tanks by a mile at the moment.
@@Vihara2 They aren't going to be invincible now because of the changes that Blizzard put in. They're more like today's pallies than the pallies back in TBC. Back then, we had to stack defense, block, and spell power to get there, and then fight with an aura that healed us for every hit. Those aren't even options in "Classic" TBC.
Nice trip down memory lane. 36:30 I actually recall heroics keys initially requiring revered reputation, which was later tuned down to honored. THAT was a huge pain in the arse...
Documenting World of Worcraft like this and the other WoW stuff you did is a good idea, might not be a economic profit but over time and eventually this will be verry usefull. Example: If World of Worcraft where to one day end, it will all be documented and peopel can watch/see what it was like. Its also a jurney from then to now.
Aye same, like Mr4ko I quit after WOTLK, but came back for FBA. Really disliked the changes, and after enjoying the story and getting to the end raids I gave up altogether. It's just not for me anymore.
the last story of wow video was about TBC and was posted on April 1st... i thought it was a long running joke but im happy to see you continue the series!!!!
I always had a fondness for Hellfire Peninsula. It's a content-dense zone with some difficult areas, sure, but it also provided a solid leveling experience and certainly gave you a crash course on what to expect elsewhere. A few solid group quests, mob-sense areas that encouraged team ups, and a central pvp hub all made it clear what the expansion expected of you and encouraged communication, even if it was interrupted by typical WoW trolling. The Fel Reavers not only encouraged awareness of your environment, but at 70 when you were tasked with killing one of them, it felt really satisfying.
Thank for the video. I certainly remember the launch, attuning (which I never completed because of time...worked a lot back then) and flying mounts. I unfortunately finish my Netherdrake rep a few weeks after Wrath launch.
I love this series so far. I still have my blackened Urn!!! I miss the attunements because it really did make you feel like you achieved something. Now adays everyone can just have everything. You are right, when you saw some one with Ashes of A'lar you were like holy crap that person is so cool!!!
