Yep. Be the highest value treat in the dogs life, not a treat dispenser. They only serve to create competing behaviours, any tool will actually. At least part of me should be shocked that there are no comments on this video.

Thank you for your comment. I love what you said. Be the highest value in a dog's life rather than treats to be. It is a struggle to get dog owners to be more mindful about life with dogs but I am in it and it is my mission to help dog owners become educated odg lovers. So, them not commenting on this video might be that I had a "mic drop" moment perhaps.

@@SaroDogTraining People are addicted to "dog training" when it comes to behaviour. The fact is - you can't train a dog to behave - you can only train for obedience. Obedience does not equate to behaved.
Trainers need to get out of the behavioral ring altogether - and focus on training dogs. Behaviorists are supposed to be the ones focused on behaviours - but all they learn is the quadrants too.
And they all blame Skinner - when it's all from Konrad Most.

I agree. Obedience training in my opinion is simply building a communication system between a dog and and human so the human can implement wanted or new behaviours in a dog. Without this communication, you are forced to use treats, aversive tools and methods. I also don't rely on the quadrants because of lack of scientific facts and it was flowed research done for completely different purpose just as Pavlov's research. As we can agree now science is not to be trusted especially the outdated ones.
