Beautiful morning run Ash! Thanks for taking us along! I'm glad you and Phil will run S & S together, and I'm looking forward to your adventures while training for it. Love that your daughter photo-bombed you, twice!! lol Atta girl!
Hi Todd, yes such a beautiful sunny morning just had to get out for a run, nice to try different routes too. Looking forward very much to training and running the S & S again, this time with some proper training. Martha is my youngest of the two, she’s so sweet and it was nice of her to make a fleeting appearance 😁
Love the video. Keep the content coming. It's also really good motivation for me to keep making videos for my channel. Looking forward to the next video!!!
Thanks 😊 just started following your journey too, good luck with your Ultra - looks like it is the same distance as the one I did and will be doing again next year at around 35 miles 👍
That’s amazing John, I think I’ll be doing the 35 miler this Sunday in them too. Was thinking the Merrell Vapor Glove, but the Vivos have more protection and better grip for muddier conditions so think they are gonna be the ones. Thanks for the comment makes me feel a bit more confident in them for the distance 😁👍
Yes mate! :) I look forward to towing that start line with you! Will be interesting to see your progression over the next 12 months as you build up to that. Perhaps you should take part in a few build up races as you have 12 months and train up for each one? Just an idea anyway.
Yes so looking forward to it now. I was thinking the same thing about a few events leading up to it. I have a 10k in a month, also thinking of the virtual London marathon in Oct, there’s also a half in Feb near me too. Be nice to use these as build up for the ‘big one’ 😁
Hugs before runs should be done more often 😁😍 If you like a variety of weather then you're in the right country mate! It does keep things interesting. Great news about the ultra. Enjoy your training dude 👍🏻🏃♂️💪
Thanks Mark - Yes hugs should be mandatory before each race, especially in the Olympics 🤣 Weather changes around every 2 hours atm, it must be sooooo boring to live somewhere that’s lovely and sunny all the time 🤔 not that I’m jealous 🤣 Looking forward to getting training done and running the Shires & Spires again, you fancying the Spire Uktra next year?
@@skinnylegsbarefootshoes yes I'm really interested in the Spire Ultra next year. Got a sore calf at the moment so as long as I don't keep bouncing from one injury to the next, I'm all in! 👍🏻
@@markg99 Hope the injuries don’t cause too much hassle and you can run that ultra mate 😁 someone once said to me - “If you run a marathon everyone ask ‘what time did you do?’ If you run an ultra everyone asks ‘did you finish it?’ “😁
Thanks for another ace vid, Ash - they always cheer me up! ☺I'm working hard to get over some serious and long-term achilles issues and your obvious joy from running gives me all the motivation I need. Great that you've signed up to the Shires and Spires - I'd do it in the V-Runs, but I am a little biased! All the very best with the training - you'll smash it with that attitude 💪👣
Thanks! Hope those achilles injuries are healed soon so you can get out doing what you love again. I had such a good run, not long or fast or serious 🙃 just good fun. Looking forward to training and doing the Shires and Spires again, nice to have a target and something to aim for 👍🏃
Also the VFF V-Runs would be a good option, as they are the lightest shoe in my rotation and ideal for going 35 miles in, the shoes are going to be the biggest consideration as I got the sizing wrong last year 😬
@@skinnylegsbarefootshoes Hi Ash! Big thanks for the replies :) I don't know what the shoe budget is like at your end but the V-Alpha's might be worth a look if you're in the market. I was looking for some trail runners a while back and nearly bought the V-Trails...but a mate persuaded me to go for the V-Alpha's instead, and I'm glad he did! Tons of grip and, for me at least, more than enough protection to keep out the sharp stabby stuff :)
@@TJ_into_the_wild Thanks, I’ll check them out because I need some good shoes. Last year I wore the Altra Superior 4.0 and whilst they were pretty much the perfect shoe for me then to use, I got the size wrong and didn’t realise until it was too late, should have gone up half a size. My big toe nail still haven’t recovered a year on! So yes I will definitely check them out - thanks TJ 👍
Very well and keep running health is most important. Thanks for the video and take care.
Thank you very much, and yes definitely health is most important. You take care too and have a great day 👍🏃👌

I did the Thames Trot 47 miler in October 2022 in the Primus FG’s and all was good. 👍
