Already is. The UK varient has already mutated in significant ways twice now and is a major factor in their spread. Ref varient - b.1.617. Indian health providers are already seeing patients who came down with the virus last year, were two shot vaccinated, and now are showing up to the hospital and dying. The biggest problem is that we really have no idea what is happening I India but everyone wants to throw a party when we are more likely to see a new varient that completely bypasses the vaccines any day now. The question then is only the differences between health supplies and way of life here compared to there whether we see 10k deaths a day here like they are seeing in India now.

The pandemic is not over. The CDC made reference to not wearing masks outside with no people around you or with your own family. They said if you are in crowds to continue wearing them. In other words no change in mask policy. If you and your kids are on an isolated beach you didn’t have to wear a mask.
Considering there is out of control spread in Brazil, India, Turkey and multiple other countries we should be careful to declare victory and start to go to mosh pits and crowded bars.
My behavior hasn't changed one bit.
I wear my mask, avoid strangers and certainly crowds. In seven days I receive my second Moderna injection and I couldn't be happier.
But I will continue to wear my mask until everyone smart enough to get vaccinated has done so....
Simply because I respect other people.

I started wearing masks in January 2020 when I learned it was airborne & there were asymptomatic carriers. In March 2020 I started wearing 2 masks (I have a small face). I carry sanitizing wipes & don't touch anything with bare hands. I'll continue my protocols until we reach herd immunity, not on vaccinations, because vaccinated is not guarantee of asymptomatic carriers.

Not wearing a mask outside when you're going out to walk your dog obviously makes sense but not wearing a mask while standing at a crowded bus stop doesn't make sense so I think people just need to use some common sense here.

I wore a mask at work and caught it. I was sweating and wiped my face near my eye with the back of my hand. One of my first symptoms of covid was persistent eye twitching in only one eye, the eye that I wiped near. I believe I caught the virus through direct contact with my eye, not through the air. But who knows.

As for vaccine, I would rather at this point take my chances with ivermectin, vitamin d, green tea, and zinc. Safe by the way is somewhat misleading as 1 out of 600 died in a 12 month period and in my opinion if Fauci had given good advice on supplements and treatments... By the way Dr. John Campbell analyzes data in Czech Republic after Mar 10 approval of Ivermectin
I’d rather this go on for quite a few years, as I’ve been working hard to keep my business going with supply and demand to keep people supplied with the correct PPE.
Hopefully when this is over, I can sell my business to retire to the Bahamas.

It's no longer up to me to do anything, so I am not wearing a mask unless I have to in a business. If people don't want the vaccine there's nothing more we should be required to do. @s barron You are correct, it's extremely unlikely that I would have to be hospitalized because I have been vaccinated and that is the entire point, to keep people out of the hospital. So as I said, for me, it's over.

Mar 10 as an example Czech Republic approved ivermectin, similar but I believe better than hydroxychloroquine. Masks may improve only where distance is not adequate. I work in a large grocery store as a checker and we do of course have to wear masks. Next fall if we are at the point where we do NOT have to wear masks some if us at work were talking and we will most likely mask up again for our own protection from not only corona mutations but the colds and flu. We had fewer people calling out sick this past winter and WHY? We wore the masks that protects not only you but We the workers also from all viruses floating around.

There are also overlapping pragmatic reasons as well, such as people who see 60,000 cases per day and say: "I have empathy for my fellow human being, so I am going to take every potential vector, every potential precaution seriously and do everything I can to cut down on the deaths that we are experiencing on a daily basis and put the final nail in the coffin for this virus." That's a reasonable position, and not necessarily one based on emotion; reason enough, I would argue, given the sheer volume of unvaccinated people and cases going about, to mask outside.

I think we need to remember that some people, such as myself, have underlying health conditions that could make covid much more dangerous. Please don't shame people who have hesitancy based on health risks.
I have an asthmatic preteen. Since social distancing and masks, we have not had one trip to the ER and not a single cold, bronchitis, pneumonia this past year. For her all the safety measures mattered to prevent covid, but now we see how it helped her overall health.

You might have a compromised immune system, which means the vaccine might not work as well for you. But, there are no medical conditions that preclude any of the mRNA vaccines. If you have underlying conditions, that should encourage you to get vaccinated, not stay vulnerable. Anyone who does not get vaccinated should be shamed, and kept out of public.
I have an autoimmune disorder, asthma and have been in remission from lung cancer for seven years. It is imperative that I continue to wear my mask when outside of the house, practice social distancing and wash my hands raw. Unfortunately my neighbors in the condominium complex refused to follow even the most basic of CDC guidelines for not contracting COVID-19 during those scary months when cases followed by death toll numbers were stratosphere high. It made fresh air excursions impossible. I am angry at self-entitled Republican human ambeobas who lack respect for others. They are willfully ignorant with a lethal kind of stupidity. Unless everyone gets vaccinated America cannot evict COVID-19 from our country.
It's silly/inconvenient to go outside, then inside, then back out again - taking a mask (I wear 2) off & on & off & on. I wear & will continue to wear (since January 2020) masks until we reach herd immunity. There shouldn't be shaming in wearing or not wearing masks. So, are they telling me since I had both Phizer vaccines I don't have to worry about the variants? I don't have a clear answer about that. If I can still get pretty sick from Variants I'm gonna continue to wear my mask. I don't think this is irrational. Maybe the vaccine will keep me from dying or getting so sick I'll be hospitalized by the variants SO FAR. But with diabetes , hence impaired immune system, just how sick can I get. Long haulers? Lack of taste and smell ongoing? I'm gonna be careful and I have a right to protect myself. The argument for stopping wearing masks is valid if it is only the original variant which is the risk. However, it isn't there are multiple new variants to be considered and the effectiveness of the vaccine against them is still not known. Until the effectiveness of the vaccine against the variants is known is should not be assumed that being vaccinated renders a person safe from all COVID variants. So in low-risk situations outdoors or with others who are vaccinated there is low risk when not being masked it is not without risk. Additionally, vaccination does not prevent infection rather it allows the body to fight the infection once infected. That being the case vaccinated people can still contract COVID and therefore can also transmit it albeit at a much lower virus load.

Topic whether or not to “need” or “have to” wear masks, shouldn’t be the topic. It’s how much you’re “willing” to move pass the pandemic as soon as possible a keep people in general healthy. Countries with my lower figure are still wearing masks because as a whole, they want to keep rates low and people safe as much as possible.

COVID has been determined to be a poor man's disease, so the precautions are no longer necessary for our owners.
I rarely wore a mask outside and really don’t understand the controversy. But there were a number of scenarios where I had unintentional close contact with strangers outdoors where a mask would have been prudent, including an unleashed dog deciding I was worthy of investigation.
But why do I wear a mask outside now? Mostly convenience. Most trips outside end up inside. Where am I going to store the thing from point A to B? My face is as good as place as any.

In seven days I receive my second Moderna injection and I couldn't be happier. My behavior hasn't changed one bit.
