The only reason that camira was missing a motor was because someone wanted an anchor for their boat. They were a pig of a car. You might have to bribe someone to get into where those HQ wagons were.
I doubt someone would have went to all that trouble for that. I did say I wonder what I have to do or who I have to do to get back there with the hq wagons.
11:03.......i had a TP sedan in red. Nice to drive and look at. Was a piece of rubbish, though. My little RC Colt 1-6 would run rings around it performance wise. Also had HG Kingswood, VK Commodore wagon and XE Falcon 3-3 four speed which i turned into a 4-9 auto after getting bored with the sixes lack of sound and character. If i could have any of my old cars back, it would be my 1979 Mazda 323 1-4.....red with brown interior. Very reliable, and made you be involved as a driver. Tiny cars a fun to fang around in.
The car at 19:37 is a Ford Anglia of 1962/3 . The predecessor to the Ford Escort. The car next to it is an Austin from the 1950s. By the way the first car you saw that you thought was a Vauxhall is correct . Its a 1964 Vauxhall Viva the predecessor to the very early Holden Torana
Cheers for the clear up. Watching back on the footage when I was editing it I was like that’s a ford Anglia I dunno why in the moment I didn’t realise what it was.
Not in Australia we don’t get the undercoating like you do in the USA most of these cars here are by the sea. So it’s the worst of the worst for condition wise.
A lot of these are heavily picked over, and with the way of the world I don’t think they’ll be a lot of Australian made cars at wreckers in the next 10 years.
Ive seen that HQ, it used to be a Upullit at Lonsdale. (price was higher than $2k when I went there, the owner reckoned the value was in the bumpers and wouldnt sell separately. Its absolutely munted. Only a shop could afford to fix it and the money they wanted was off the scale. good luck fixing that without eating cabbage for the rest of yr life. The Vauxhall is a Viva The problem with Upullit is that the morons phuque up the rest of the car when they destroy everything to get a $5 part. Ppl are too phuqueing stupid to undo clips on looms and interiors. Theyd rather shatter perfectly good panels to get a part and then p\huque it up for anyone else go to upullit at gilman, most cars are undercover and ppl dont seem to ruin them as much getting bits off
I’m interested to know what the intial price was. It looked very buildable to me. And for 2k I would have thought it would get snapped up. As for the bumpers comment that’s funny as at the front of it was a hz bumper. If that’s what the owner referred too. I don’t know how they’re still allowed to operate like they do. I would have thought someone would have gotten hurt by now and sued.
Austin Freeway. Vauxhall Viva. 200B POS. I have no idea why the Commodores are popular. The early Commodores were just Kingswoods with a small body, until the Nissan powered VLs. The later ones were noisey and just feral machines. The Geminis were a great car. The little Isuzu motors were fuel efficient and totally reliable. Starfire four, six cylinder with two cylinders cut off, POS. Forget the Fords. Post XE all the head gaskets leaked. ‘One of the best cars ever made…’ You obviously know nothing about automotive engineering. The square arsed TN Magnas were total POS. Transmissions were a nightmare. PT Cruisers might have been an abomination but they were better than f..king Magnas. Camira…the less said the better. Pug 504 brilliant car. Galant, an AMI build are a great car. One of the best out of Chrysler or actually Japan. Hillman. Austin A50. Triumph shitbox. After the Gazelle was a Toyota Cressida late 70s early 80s. Toyota Celica. Look after them and they go forever. Pretty much any Toyota is better than any American, Australian made car. Interesting vid. Lonsdale U-Pull-It on any day over 30 degrees is like hell on Earth.
Ah thanks for the video there Kyle's brother..i would frequent U pull it since they started here. Here's a video I did years ago when you saw rows of valiants in them. ua-cam.com/video/EY91Wu5clYk/v-deo.htmlsi=Uw6fhikemUJ50WNG
I had a gazelle exactly the same colour as that. Factory FJ20T .sick car. Thanks for showing
There’s not a lot of them left I would assume. I can’t say I’ve seen one in a while.

There's actually a Toyota land cruiser there at the Lonsdale yard with a VB red 202 in it and seats.
I must of missed that one. I didn’t venture back into the 4wd section. Not usually my cup of tea.

1951 Austin A40
It’s like they don’t spray any under coating or rust inhibitors during manufacturing like in the USA, all rusted in strange spots!
Not in Australia we don’t get the undercoating like you do in the USA most of these cars here are by the sea. So it’s the worst of the worst for condition wise.
I gotta get over to SA, Melbourne yards don’t have that amount of oldies, and when they do, they’re picked completely clean in minutes!
A lot of these are heavily picked over, and with the way of the world I don’t think they’ll be a lot of Australian made cars at wreckers in the next 10 years.
11:05........"it's got the 2-6". That was the only engine they were ever given! The only variances were a choice between carb or EFI.
Theres one in Bargo NSW that has a lot of really old stuff.
Never heard of that one, I’ll Have to look it up

@@V8JakeC when I went through over a month ago trhey wanted $3500
The Red VN SHOULD SAVED!!!! $1800
Where’s all the damn trucks at?
No truck in Australia as makers in the US didn't want to build right hand drive trucks. And to this day still don't.
Those wreckers are full of shit cars from the 80’s/90’s you just don’t see anymore 🤣
Love those boxy magna wagons
Had a tp wagon. Great car
When I was a kid they were everywhere.
At 2mins, that's a Vauxhall Viva.
That was a Nissan 300C or Nissan Cedric. 1980-1985 VG30e power!
Glad someone could clear it up. Never seen one before in my life. But I’m a fan of the shape.
@V8JakeC I've had 2 of them up here in QLD. Japan President had one in 1984.
At first i was wondering why so many right hand drive cars 😂😂
Alot ground footage
It was incase I tripped and had to sue 🤷🏻♂️

Obviously didn’t get the sarcasm with ‘one of the best cars ever made’

No worries Peter who knows Kyle.
That’s crazy you wouldn’t see it like that again in your lifetime. How things have changed.
