Great rundown for a Kenwood Head unit! Well thought out with a fluid presentation and enough detail for a good heads up to start setting up a new Kenwood. Thanks
$139 at Best Buy. I am considering this stereo and your UA-cam did just that. Very well produced, Excellent Talent and much appreciated. Definitely a strong canadine for the Best Actor under 15: Minutes Documentary Educational category, filmed inside a motor vehicle or motorcycle non pet category. Seriously lots of potential.
I had many 1 din radios from Pioneer and Alpine but this models from Kenwood are really impressive.Whit lot of functions by the price and looks great in any car.
I definitely see why you went with this (if you aren't using the Anker F2 Pro) I'd definitely get it aswell since my car has no Aux or BT mode *BUT* my radio display has a navigation system and time setting that I love. So I'll stick to the F2 pro for now but thanks for the review I will definitely look this up if I ever get a car with a small limited radio. .will you ever do a review on dashcams or other car accessories? I love them keep them coming
I'm glad the Roav is working out for you! I'll certainly post more reviews for car accessories if I end up getting any more, it's just at this point I really don't need anything else. I appreciate the interest though!
Hey, great review, but a couple of questions: 1) if an FM station is both regular/HD Radio, does the Kenwood switch back and forth depending on signal strength, or are you forced to only be able to select FM OR HD Radio? 2) Have you used an iPod, or iPhone via USB for music - how's the interface? 3) USB Flash drives: have you found there's a limit in size? I noticed you used a 16gb for this. I've got a 128gb with my tunes on it. 4) Finally - Bluetooth quality. How is the sound - do your callers complain you're in a tunnel or underwater, and how about the easy-of-connectivity/Hands Free operation? I'll be installing in an older, four-speed manual car, so hands-free is important. Thanks sir
Good questions. Sorry for the delayed response. 1.) If a station is both, it will default to HD radio, but changes to FM if HD radio becomes unavailable. 2.) I have not personally used an iPhone via USB, although it would be similar to Bluetooth. 3.) I am not sure as to the limit of flashdrive. You can check the manual online. You are completely correct though, that I tested it with a 16GB drive. 4.) Bluetooth quay has been really good in my opinion. I've had no major connection issues, it streams over the AAC video, which is the highest quality for iPhones and better than standard SBC on other stereos. It's easy to switch songs via the buttons on the front over Bluetooth, and you can activate your assistant anytime to switch things up. I hope that answered some of your questions!
Great video. Showed all the features I was interested in. One question, can you dim the display or turn off the display. I use that feature on my alpine at night.
Yes, you can! There's a little display button that if you hold down, dims or undims the display. You can also set it up so that the display dims at a certain time of the day, such as 8pm. Hope that makes sense!
@@tristan_talks_tech Thanks, that makes sense. Can you turn it completely off? As if the radio looks like it's powered off but still plays and if you hit a button it will light back up for a few seconds then go dark again?
Have you used the Kenwood remote app on this headunit ? If so I'd like to find out if its possible to fast forward songs on your phone via the app. Sometimes it sucks listening to a long intro / I wanna skip to a specific song on a mix thats playing . I am contemplating getting one of these but I'll have to get a double din if there's limitations in terms of features
That's a great question! I have not tried using the app, although I probably should. However, on Android at least, you can hold down the "next track" button on the head unit and it will fast forward through the song you are listening to. It may be app specific, as it works via a USB drive and via my music app (PowerAmp), but not with UA-cam. I hope that kind of answered your question.
You can connect the device to your smartphone via the Alexa app, which will then allow you to access Alexa anytime by pressing the button on the stereo.
There are quite a bit. If you want to clean up your source list, you can disable Pandora and Spotify from showing. Then it only cycles through Bluetooth, FM/AM, and USB.
@@Iraqveteran-ke6qu Sound quality seems excellent. I don't know exactly how well it can power bigger, more power hungry systems as I still have the stock speakers in my car. However, I did notice a boost in quality over the factory receiver. If you have an external amp, there are also outputs for that on the back.
@@tristan_talks_tech I bought the JVC 370bts and alpine Ute 73bt for comparison and the JVC on paper sounds better with time alignment and 4v Pre amp outputs as the alpine has limited eq and only 2v Pre output. However the build on the alpine was a lot more quality, especially the dials and buttons seem more positive and you can feel the clicks. The jvc was hard to determine where the click would stay. Anyway, I just ordered the kenwood and going to see how it feels compared to the other 2 I mentioned. I really like the HD radio part along with all the other eq features.
@@Iraqveteran-ke6qu Everyone has different preferences, so I'm glad you are comparing a few and discovering what you like. I quite enjoy the Kenwood stereo, but that's just my opinion. Let you know what you end up keeping!
I didn't want to shatter my eardrums, so I suppose I haven't checked. It should be just fine no matter what car or speakers you have though, you should never have to put it up to max.
I didn’t think I was going to watch the whole video but I did. Good work young man. Keep going.
Thank you so much!

Glad to hear it!

Is this model compatible with the smartphone app?
Yes it is, although mine was being a little finicky.

You must change the position of the micro for better appearance and to catch all the sound of environment of your car.
How does spotify work with this car radio? How does it support spotify, is it just through bluetooth?
How take Permant off the demo mode?
Kenwood KMM-BT728HD vs Kenwood KMM-BT732HD?

35max volume.. but its realllyyy loud..
