I think it's less about people not making up their minds and more about completely different perspectives people had when playing this game. A lot of older Sonic fans who hated the early 2000s games loved this game for returning Sonic to his simpler roots while younger fans who loved the 2000s games hated this game for how simple it seemed in comparison to what came before. The vocal majority at the time of this game's release were the older fans but as time went by, those younger fans grew up and started expressing their distaste of the game.

This is a really well-made analysis! I have a quite a few negative feelings towards Colors Wii, mostly due to the story and level design(Which is funny because Forces is a favorite of mine, but that's mostly for personal reasons), but i can't deny its inherent qualities and, especially, someone's enjoyement of it. This video was concise, detailed, well-informed, fair, respectful, constructive, and overall fun to watch. Excellent work!
I may not play this Game but I did watched the cutscene, and yeah I found the game’s story to be simple, and the humor is kinda cheesy, No wonder MeltingMan234 Don’t like this Game. But maybe the gameplay is highlight of this game.
I honestly feel like had "Sonic Colors Ultimate" hadn't been released in the same state that "Sonic 06" and "Sonic Boom" was released in, "Sonic Colors" could've regained the popularity it once had.
