Great video. I am heading out to replace my driver's side handle on my 97 TJ. The screw is okay. The spring around the latch has popped out and the latch will no longer open the door. I have to roll down the window and reach outside to get out. Lol If it was just the screw, I think I would have just used a washer and a longer screw for a few months.

Good job bro but I think that’s for the drivers side. When locked the button should be pushed in not out.

Jesus Avila haha I happened to notice that t00, you can tell at the end of the video, but actually it is the right one for the right side. there was a manufacturer defect on the pair of handles I have. This pair has the “Lock” label on the wrong side of the push lock lever. Thank for watching..

I have gone through more than a few of these door handles. The weak link has always been one of those clips that snap over the rod. Someone told me they found "metal" clips for theirs. Here I am looking and learning. If anyone knows where to get the metal ones, I'd appreciate hearing. Also, the latest handles I got off ebay, the holes were too small for the rod. I had to drill them out, and now they are so thin they are sure to break in this AZ summer. 95 YJ.

Looks like you have an aftermarket keyless entry system in the door. If so, can you explain how you mounted that system inside your half door?

To the point and very helpful. It's my first Jeep. Thanks. btw, the screw is missing - just get a t15 screw 1/2" long?

Had my boyfriend do this for me. He put the bars on the opposite clips and bent the rods. I've been trying to fix it. Now the door won't open even with the rods in the correct location. What do I do? Other than keep him away from my beloved Jeep!

@Sheelah Casson 💥 nice, thanks for watching ! Ooh wow that’s a bummer, is the door stuck and won’t open at all? Half door , full door? I would try to use the key and open the door from the outside, those doors are made to be removed, maybe able to remove the hinge bolts and pull the door off that way to be repaired, other than that last resort is to break the door panel on the inside, to get to the door latch to repair or replace and open door!, I’m just thinking off the top , honestly id have to be there to really see what’s going on

I have to do this on my 97 Jeep Wrangler sport. Anymore tricks I should know before I get started? Should I get the parts from the dealer or Napa, etc?
