Hi. ive been fixing phones the hard way and I thank you for showing this. Why do you need to take the phone completely apart if you are only replacing the front glass?
Excellent video very interesting a guy at work has just asked me if I can replace his front glass after watching your video I guess I have no chance without the correct equipment ha thanks for the upload
@@asrarcheema6299 The frames for newer devices are not rigid enough to resist even the forces that can happen due to the size of the phones now being large enough to crack just being pressed from tight fitting clothing onto a curved body or just being in your back pocket and bending over depending on your body shape. They are big enough so just getting pulled by your pants into your ass can crack them. They are made out of what seems to be light plastic and just glued now so the shell isn't really acting as a rigid structure even though they could make it all out of aluminum or tool grade plastics with fiberglass reinforcing with a complex internal structure or simply encase the battery in a solid shell that is connected all over the outer frame to make it really difficult to flex at all as the glass cracks with just a little bit of twist and it would not add too much cost to manufacturing but as the trends have been there is no market incentive to produce a more durable phone as there is no product line or popular brand that has that kind of practical line of thinking when it comes to device development. It wouldn't stop impact damage that would break the glass but definitely stop them from cracking in your pocket. They could just make the glass a bit thicker also, this might make them significantly heavier though and that could cause them to be more likely to break when dropped but I'd rather they break if I actually drop them and not from just carrying them in my pocket. They just aim for super thin super light and modern looking design with a ideal durability of a year or two before you buy another one. Making them last until you actually need to upgrade for hardware reasons would result in quite a large portion of the market keeping them for a decade only to replace the battery as they would only use them for what they need them for and if they still work there is no Reason to spend 300-1500 dollars for a new one that is only marginally better in storage space and camera that will probably be running a new OS they decided to skin the UI so different year to year you spend months learning to navigate it all over.
My wife broke the screen on her S20 Ultra 5G, everything still works just fine, but needs the face replaced, What does it run to get that fixed, we have to find someone here in Florida locally to fix it quickly, her phone is also part of her work. Thanks
Is the scenario here where the digitizer/amoled fine, but the outer glass is trashed? My scenario is that I have side chips at the lower left and upper right and a transverse crack developed, and the upper quarter displays fine, but does not respond to touch. I assume this means I'm looking at replacing the entire assembly, which seems to be a much easier, but more costly repair in terms of part cost.
If I buy front glass with frame and OCA glue on, which of these machines do I need for the last steps? Also, why do you attach the OCA yourself if it's already cheap to buy pre-attached?
@@MrPhoneDoctor I wasnt specifically referring to the s20 but I get what youre saying. Which 2in1 laminator+bubble remover would you recommend? Ive been repairing on/off for couplw years but want to start repairing the screens.

what do you recommend for a cracked screen with liquid crystal bleed? Could the screen just be replaced, or should everything switch over to a new frame with the screen?

So you will know, this is a design flaw. If you go and look across the internet, and I went on to the Samsung Community wall, there's a lot of complaints about this. If you'll note even in this video he's pointing out where their flaw is that, which is where the crack started. There is evidently a small Gap put into the glass over where the power button is, and that creates the Flop. I have one that I had a case protector, and glass protector, in a purse that I bought specifically to protected that it fit in nicely cuz it's such a big phone. I put the phone in on my way to class, did not hit her drop my purse on the way, took it out at class, it was broken, right by the power button. As it is they are making $300 per repair on these! Despicable!
Do you need to do all that work just to replace a cracked glass cover screen? Is there a price difference between cracking only the glass screen compared to the LCD ? Samsung charge a hefty price to fix but they don't differentiate the price between only the glass and the LCD?
@@MrPhoneDoctor I see , thanks for the response.
