If I was retired it might be a place I would choose to live. Go hunting, fishing, ATV riding have a big garden. People are most of the time a lot more friendly in those places.
If you cross black mountain as it is called on the Virginia side and lynch mountain in the Kentucky side. When you come down in Virginia , you will come down into Appalachia VA. I was born in Norton but lived in Big Stone Gap and Appalachia as a child.
Hello from Arkansas my family live Louisville Kentucky and liberty Kentucky and Bradford Kentucky ❤❤❤😊I love mountains living thank bring me along love ❤️ your videos
My great great grandfather was Ol Man John Shell. Supposedly Greasy Creek got its name due to him shooting a bear and it ending up in the creek or something if that sort. He also claimed to be the worlds oldest living man at one point. I’d love to go down and see that area for myself someday that’s where my family roots are from.

I love the scenery, the commentary, and you two. Thirty years ago, I spent about a week cruising the back roads of eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. I feel like I belong there. Thanks for sharing. You have a new sub.
My grandparents lived in Clay county...at least up until the '90s, it was lightly populated. I have been to Hyden, but it's been a long time. Eastern Kentucky has a lot of amazing places. Route 11 between Manchester and Oneida during the fall... Highway 441 in the fall. Route 30 between Oneida and Booneville...just to name a few.
I loved this video! Leslie County is beautiful and so peaceful! My mother grew up in neighboring Clay County, in a little holler called Hector, in the 1930's. When reflecting on her childhood, she once told me, "Leslie County people were "quare". I said, what do you mean? She said, you'd be walking or riding a mule down a backroad or through the woods and you'd see people way up ahead coming towards you, but then you'd never meet them - they'd disappear into the woods! I always thought that was funny, and I hope that doesn't offend anyone from Leslie County. It is beautiful. Hey, Coyotes, is Clay County too far for you to venture for your channel? I'd love to see an episode or two on Clay - there's the museum, "The Clay We Were", and Oneida Baptist Institute, where many of my family attended school and which has grown beyond all imagination from when my family went, and there's more history there with Red Bird, etc. I love southeast Kentucky, the mountains and the people. It's in my blood.
Have you done a video on the old railroad track at Pine Mountain State Park? If you go there after a good rain there are waterfalls and a tunnel that are beautiful. In the park the amphitheater with stone steps behind the reflecting pool and the shelter are also beautiful.
Back in my coal haulin days, (late '70ies), I run through these parts a lot. We'd haul a couple loads of sand out of Louisville down to south central Ky. to concrete companies durin the day After dumping the last load of sand we'd head east on back roads to towns southeast of Hazard to get our load of coal, which would go to places in., Ind, Ky, Ohio. We would have to haul the coal at night cause of our weight, (being very heavy) lol Enjoy your videos, I'm also from Ky. I was down there summer of 2023 with a preacher friend while he was preachin at a little Baptist church south and east some of Hazard.
Hi Mr and Mrs Coyote! Nice video. More than likely that house and abandoned car are now the property of the State of Kentucky. The owners probably died and didn’t leave a will or any directions of their intentions after they passed. It’ll just fall down I’m guessing this winter with the storms. Great video of the backwoods. Have a great day!
Whant you all come over to Jackson county.mckee ky do a video all kinds of things to see .421 runs right through the middle of it .great video as always thanks for sharing
Hopefully we'll be able to make it over that way soon to do some videos. We're trying to expand our territory and do some videos of places we've not done before.
@IgnitedCoyote you all will be welcome any time you all need some one to show you. All around just get up with me I know we're a old grave yard is that's not had any one buried in it since the 40s and the graves are like big sheets of rock all hand .kutt..
I knew Nimrod workman, he lived in mascot Tennessee at the time, he was instrumental in getting the union in the mines,i saw the movie, WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON, my boys great great grandmaw wrote that book, her and her husband was there then to,it was fascinating to talk to them and hear what they went tru,ol Nimrod was 84 yrs old and couldn't keep up with him in the ginseng woods!
There's good reason why there is no little cabin near that creek. It would not be there long when the rain and snow get that little creek roaring. The car has KY 99 on the plate probably the year last registered
I’m not so sure about those back roads. We’d go until it wasn’t striped anymore, then keep going til the pavement stops. Then you go on while there’s still gravel. Then if it wasn’t so steep that the car or truck could still handle it, we’d go on. When we stopped, we just hoped we didn’t hear a shotgun pump up in the trees. 😱
My Dad was from Knott County and my Mom is from Floyd County. Proud of my Eastern Kentucky roots! Beautiful place, wonderful people.❤
Yes that is greasy creek if you all fish that’s a great fishing spot and some beautiful fish there

I worked in Leslie county assembled heavy equipment Nice people

@debrawhite751 my Grandma from the Brightshade area in Clay County not too far from Hector always used that "quare" LOL
We're hoping to do some videos from Clay and other counties in southeast Kentucky we've not covered yet

Putting this area on my bucket list to get some property for the future ..seeing as everyone's moving to my area
Take US 421 North to McKee KY and then KY 89 north to Irvine KY. Then you see a good view of the area.
Thanks
Isolated. The more, the better.

Don't let the bears get you.

Do Elliott County.
Where are you all from? Have to be from somewhere close by. Beautiful country
neat.
The wife keeps asking if she will ever see Raylan givens on your UA-cam channel. 😂 Told her I think he moved to California. 😂
You're right, I think Raylan took off to California. lol
People are nice there because they haven't been corrupted by liberals and big city life. This is the country my mother was raised in. Beautiful!
❤
You have to wonder , what caused the back walls to collapse ?
Wife is smokin’ bro
kinda spooky, lol
Where are you from?
Harlan County Kentucky
There is a county in Pa that has less then 5000 people
10000 people? We have less than 2500 in Robertson County.
🚌
The only jobs there seem to be a bluegrass musician or a bootlegger. Nature will reclaim the abandoned houses, so sad. Best wishes from Europe.
Dogman territory.
10,000 is still a lot of folks.
