#SpeakNoEvilMovie only in theaters September 13.
-----
When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream holiday soon warps into a snarled psychological nightmare.
From Blumhouse, the producer of The Black Phone, Get Out and The Invisible Man, comes an intense suspense thriller for our modern age, starring BAFTA award-winner James McAvoy (Split, Glass) in a riveting performance as the charismatic, alpha-male estate owner whose untrammeled hospitality masks an unspeakable darkness.
Speak No Evil stars Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Halt and Catch Fire) and SAG award-winner Scoot McNairy (Argo, A Quiet Place Part II) as American couple Louise and Ben Dalton, who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes (Alix West Lefler; The Good Nurse, Riverdale), accept the weekend-holiday invitation of Paddy (McAvoy), his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi; Game of Thrones, The Fall) and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Daniel Hough).
Written for the screen and directed by James Watkins, the writer-director of Eden Lake and the award-winning gothic ghost story The Woman in Black, Speak No Evil is based on the screenplay of the 2022 Danish horror sensation Gæsterne, written by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. That film earned 11 Danish Film Awards nominations, the Danish equivalent of the Oscars.
Speak No Evil is produced by Jason Blum (Five Nights at Freddy’s, M3GAN) for Blumhouse and by Paul Ritchie (McMafia, The Ipcress File) and is executive produced by Beatriz Sequeira for Blumhouse, Jacob Jarek and Christian Tafdrup.

Man! I love when James McAvoy makes horror movies. The guy can be frightening as hell.
Yeah. Especially in horror villain roles
He’s got a devilish face. Ever see Filth?
What horror movies has he been in?

I've seen the original, they've literally given away all the best parts of the film
So frustrating isn't it?
@@SirCalebEvansI’m sitting here in shock, like why would they show the boys mouth? Holy shit.
This is absolutely wild on all levels. Why is there the need to remake the original? It was nearly flawless, AND it was mainly in English so I don't see the problem as far as language goes. And yeah, they manage to give away THE WHOLE PLOT in a 3 minute trailer, it makes watching the whole movie almost redundant. That being said, the trailer for the original movie also did that. Both trailers are almost a carbon copy.
I’m almost positive they didn’t do a scene for scene recreation. But instead gave away the original most important scenes in the trailer. You can tell they added a bigger part for the boy. They most definitely cut out the middle easterner because…. You know why.. And they forsure changed the ending my guess is they escape w/ the boy and the insane killer couple somehow also escape, which cuts to a scene of them coxing another family in vacation.
@@JT-lw1oh That's my guess too.
James McAvoy is such an underrated actor. He should've won an Oscar in my most honest and humbled opinion. Hopefully, this role and others can get him there!
An Oscar for which movie?
@@adamfernandes4312 Not OP but Split? He has many good roles, but he popped off in Split for sure. The problem with 2017 Oscars were that Casey Affleck has a career defining movie, one of the best acting ever imo (probably my favorite), but the fact that McAvoy wasn't even nominated is criminal

"Speak No Evil" didn't need a remake, it was already great to begin with.
James Mcvoy playing _that_ character was great choice.
The original film is brilliant. Real shame producers ruined the twist in this trailer. I doubt the ending won’t be as brutal
The original film was silly and dumb. They expect us to think they get away this this alot, when they do things like take the victims out to dinner down the road from their house and let the victims pay with their credit card? What was the point of keeping the kid around? what was the point of any of it?
The mother was aggressive and angry when they were yelling at someone else's kid, but when her's in is danger, she's' suddenly weak and docile to the point where she lies down and just let's two unarmed people kill her by chucking a few stones?
Eh it was okay
Such a disappointing trailer. Do people really think Americans are so unintelligent they won't see a movie without seeing most of it in a trailer? It's embarrassing.
The twist being that the other parents cut the boy’s tongue/are actually bad parents??
Thank you for saying about the twist being in here, I hate when they put the twists in the trailer, like do you want people to be shocked or whatever when watching the actual movie or not, because the trailer for Abigail already ruined the twist for that movie
Halt and catch fire reunion and I am here for it. Plus James McAvoy is such a good actor and can play the crazy physco like no one else.

*Have seen the original Danish film. It's so engaging and shocking as much as traumatic. A must-watch. Hope the remake is as good as the original.*
I think a lot of people complaining about the remake don't understand that the central thesis of the original film can be made in the new film, with the improvement of having people behave the way people actually behave.
I think this remake is gonna have changes. I see that they added some different scenes. And that they gave away all the important scenes of the original is because... There is more hidden. I don't know, because in this one I see the protagonists are defending themselves.
I had totally forgotten that there would be a remake of this film
The first one was so good and dark..I wonder why remake it?

I'm still undecided if I should be happy that such a brilliant movie will reach a larger audience or sad that a brilliant movie that was already acted in English is being remade only two years after its release for no good reason at all.
A little of both.

Same question people are asking about Leonardo DiCaprio's upcoming take on Another Round 😂
Because the original was disturbingly tragic and pointless
@@peterparker9954well they let it happen
this looks so good, putting it on the list.
What made the original so remarkable and impactful was how bleak everything was. How “non-cinematic” it was crafted and real it felt. By the looks of it, they’re going to give us another sanitised version of the original story, because they can’t handle tragic stories that stick with you long after the credits roll. Reminds me of the car crash that was the Martyrs remake. Anyway, James McAvoy looks fit so I guess we have that to look forward to 😂
Martyr's remake??? Did they really made it? Noooooo!

You essentially just told the ENTIRE movie in the trailer. Good job!
I don't get why this is being remade. The original was a Danish film, but the two couples in the story are Danish and Dutch respectively, with the result being that the couples speak to each other in English.
Why remake an English language film for, presumedly, an English speaking British/American audience? Why not just release the original? Why would anyone go to see what I'm guessing will be another toothless PG13 Blumhouse horror movie when the original is readily available already?
This is strange one.
I'm going to assume that the director saw the film and thought they could use the basic premise to make a more classical good vs evil film (and actually make some money, which the original movie definitely did not do)
I would be shocked if they stick to the original ending
the song at the beginning of the video is called " Iniziamo dalla fine" by Emma, a great italian singer. Listen to her
I saw this film already. Hopefully the remake lives up to the original.
The original one was so good. The ending was brutal and made me speechless
James McAvoy's willingness to be in schlock horrors is super admirable.
Well, the original was not a shlocky horror. I imagine he got into this with the hope that it might be as thoughtful as that one was... but it doesn't appear to be so.
Great to see Scoot McNairy. An overlooked actor who is extremely talented and gives the best “everyday type man” performances. So easy to watch him work, really grounded actor.
A great pleasure to see him reunited with McKenzie Davis again after their work together on Halt and Catch Fire.
although this movie doesn't need a remake or another version, I will watch this because of James McAvoy.
I like how the kid is already physically portraying the fact he got his tounge cut out. Smart and great attention to detail on how to move your mouth/ jaw wothouta tounge
I will root for any character James McAvoy plays simply because James McAvoy is playing him 😤😤😤. They can NEVER make me hate you James!!! NEVER!!!
If its anything like the original, they will make you hate the good couple.
This looks promising. I hope it’s an improvement of the original Danish film of the same name. That film was outstanding but very frustrating at times, especially the ending. The Danish couple was way too polite & compliant & didn’t fight for their daughter. Plus, I found it hard to believe they’d go back for a stuffed animal if they were that scared. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
Fingers crossed that this keeps the vibe of the original. I'm okay with remakes as long as they remember what made the original so good

James McAvoy will be so psychotic in Speak No Evil!
I saw the original a few weeks ago and it was brutal 😨 it was so fucked up. This remake shows the twist in the trailer! I’m so glad I saw the original. The remake looks like it’s gonna be a thriller and very action packed while the original was eerily slow paced to build tension, which makes it effective. The ending of the original made me feel awful and the feeling sat with me for weeks. I’m curious about the remake and I’ll go see it because I do like James McAvoy range in acting, but I’m not holding my breath about the overall movie holding a light to the original.
My takeaway from the original was kinda like .... If you tolerate evil, sit and dine with it then eventually you can't deny it when it'll come to take you to a dark place you can never come back from.
Yeah, I noticed that too. I feels something more like the movie "Don't breath". More action and tension packed.
I got an ad for this trailer while I was waiting to skip it but as I watched the trailer I was like “Wait isn’t this already out? And didn’t I see this movie already?” But then I was like “Wait this is an American remake of that one movie I saw at the end of last year” but I couldn’t remember the name until I saw the title at the end and I was like “Yeah, Speak No Evil, that’s it”, I actually loved the original 2022 Danish film of this movie, I completely forgot they were making a remake, but I highly recommend no one to watch the trailer cause they literally spoil the entire movie and the big twist in the movie, just watching the original and save yourself from getting spoiled, this trailer would just be better for people that have already seen the original movie
