I'm a veteran injured in service and the army denied I'd been injured in service also claimed they've lost my medical records! It took 20 years for me to fight them to finally win my case against them !!!

When all ill egals have been deported and foreign aid stopped, the money should be used to help all veterans. Until them I doubt many will even contemplate joining up.
I remember back in the day when lads couldn't wait to join the forces after leaving school because for many it was a chance to see the world and to learn a trade or other skills.
The cadet training centres were full to overflowing and married personnel had the option of forces accommodation. My uncle was a major, stationed in Germany, and had a lovely house out there.
Now accommodation lies empty, some of it being made available to ille gals when so many of our own people are homeless through no fault of their own.
This uncaring attitude seems to have grown over the last 50 years and especially over the last 20.

I always thought I'd honour the call up if required. However, as a 27 year old with his own family to look after and protect, there's no way I would leave them to fight for a country who's never had a government in power thats catered for the need of the indigenous population for as long as I've been alive. Retention is poor because the wages are poor compared to civvie street, a bricklayer can earn a grand a week and a privet about £300,you do the math. This country since i am living here has been kind to me, with work opportunities as i am employed, before on the covid time i didn't had a job and i was able to claim benefits for those months so of course i would join the army.
The problem here is they don't accept me because i don't have British Nationality, in my opinion that sucks.. I am legal here so i should be able to join the army too.

No the mindset of the British people does not need to change,the mindset of career politicians needs to change, maybe start with inacting the will of the electorate might be an idea not the will of the WEF.
If the media and government stopped supporting war, we wouldn't need to. After Afghanistan and Iraq I don't blame anyone not wanting to die for businessmen getting richer. And putting Capita in charge of recruitment might have something to do with it.
