If I may make a suggestion for the next batch. A small flap that covers the zippers on the side pockets. Will keep dirt and debris out of the zipper itself and provides water runoff to keep the zipper and stitching dry.
Was thinking the same thing. The lack of a flap there really puts me off. Water will go straight through the zips even in a light shower. Other than that it looks like a great pack.
Looks like a quality pack and I love the the smaller oacks made to fit inside perfectly. I can appreciate the fact that you made them in your home country of Britain. Being myself from the USA we like to try and buy American products. But I would definitely buy from you when I'm ready for a new backpack.
Brian should make those pouches with thermal insulated liners also and it's awesome that you are supporting made in the UK products. People should support that idea more than anything.
Excellent job Mike. I see a number of comments on here regarding price, and it just shows how dependent we've become on Amazon, and Made in China rubbish. Good Evening from across the pond in Nashville Tn., have just started watching your channel as well as your dads in the last month. As a carpenter and hunter/ fisherman and avid outdoorsman I truly enjoy the DIY’S and the bushcraft building. I have learned a lot from Graeme about different fishing techniques and rigs that we would of never thought to use here in the states for the species we target,Flathead and Blue Catfish as well as Carp. I’ve always wanted to vacation in England on a pheasant or grouse shoot, and since watching your channel I now want to do a fishing vacation there. My Aunt Chris, whom has passed on now, is from Braintree and since I was a child she always peeked my interest in England. By showing me letters and photos from “back home”,as well as introducing me to the BBC programs such as Keeping Up Appearances,Eastenders,Are You Being Served etc. But as an American stuck here during this C-19, I’m able to see the English and Irish country side through your channels. Thank you for all the hard work and videos you both put out,and congratulations on becoming a dad Mike and a Grandad Graeme.

Well done Mike - it’s great to do what you really want to do. Looks like great kit. Obviously designed through experience. And it’s brilliant that you’ve gone with local craftsmen rather than getting cheap crap from China. they look really good. Thank you so much for your careful use of words to include all the countries that make up Great Britain. I wish we had had something like this when we did first aid duties at pony club events it would have made life a lot easier to reach things in the kit.
Brilliant! You guys have worked up an amazing piece of kit there, I'm really impressed. I do have a few suggestions for improvements, though. 1: Put larger loops on the back corners of those pouches, so that you can attach them to a belt or to a shoulder strap, or even molly style to the outside of the pack. 2: Make the rigid padding for the back detachable, so that it can be used for a dry seat when you get to camp. 3: Make the stool cover much wider, so that large guys like myself can sit down without having our knees up around our ears. Hope this helps.
Congratulations! Excellent gear and well done for getting it all designed and made hear in Britain. Never more important to support smaller businesses than right now! I hope it continues to do well for you.
Very, very impressed with the design and quality of this pack. I have been looking for something exactly like this since leaving the army, high quality, functional, non military looking pack. Just ordered the the brown pack version. I think this will be worth the wait.

Not a bad design and no doubt based on experience, if I may I would add a snow collar to the inside and the side pouches might be better without zippers but with lids the same as the main bucket. Maybe also loops so one could fasten it to their bush belt or any support belt? Not a bad design though, good for you bringing these to market!

The common 1L pop bottle makes a good canteen. I live in the desert. I don't leave home without water. My pack has a pair of drawstring pockets in addition to the classic 3 pocket cluster that are a perfect fit for my canteens. I don't buy packs with zippers. They give out in 2 months. I save brass Levis zippers from scrap jeans and sew them inside the blown plastic zippers, but it is an arduous repair. I want drawstrings or I don't buy. I love your webbing reinforcement of the drawstring. Great innovation. All my packs tear there. Durable nylon is great stuff. You might want to give cotton more consideration. Yeah, it frays all to hell in 5 years but a pack gets a lot of handling and use as a pillow, and cotton is more comfortable. Knew a guy who preferred natural fiber sails on his live in boat. The plastics have obvious advantages. He said the cotton or flax or whatever gave him a great sense of comfort. Not as strong, shorter wear life, have to dry them often, but worth it to him. From the supplier viewpoint, another sale in a few years. I don't throw out the worn out packs. They still hold laundry or mending and such. Hard to part with an old friend. Alice is the bachelor's wife. PS A combination draw string and flap on pockets might be good. More versatile. Drawstring at the top leaves an entry for rain. Sleeping bag zippers are more durable if you must use the damned things. Milspec are metal, but the plastics hold up ok. I just don't want to be making high tech repairs back of beyond. Your price is off putting. Mil surplus may not be ideal, but it doesn't break the bank. Think about sales and advantages. You have good ideas. Your prices reflect custom making. Offer a catalog of designs and custom make what customers want. Make by cottage industry. Patent as you go. Make sure it is international or it isn't worth doing. Let your customers help you design. There once was a college with new grounds and everyone was after the pres. to pour sidewalks because the muddy tracks were unsightly. He refused for some time. When the paths became evident, he poured where the people had been walking. If you lay concrete where you want, the public responds by cutting paths where they want. This method saves unsightly dirt tracks showing up after the job is done. Now the oriental export business is showing it's flaws. I made an order last spring that has yet to show up. The longshoremen quit when the flu showed up. I understand the port is crammed with ships. I need a bike but can't get one. Once the Chinese see your design, they may knock it off. You could have them make part of your run. Can locals compete? Well, if not, can you draw a happy medium? Pass around a few for free to club types. Get them used and seen. Your brand is an ad for free exposed by travel. Make it big. Don't hide it like you are ashamed of it. You will find in time salesmanship pays you better than craftsmanship. Selling a product you are proud of is better for the spirit. Good luck. Mind the odds.
I'd swap the direction of the zippers for the side pockets so that the opening starts closer to the back of the - wait for it... back-pack!, so easier access then; makes sense when you want to grab that bottle of water. What do you think?
I love the style of the pack but I see 3 things that could be improved. 1 - pocket zipper water protection, 2 - the top cover on the sides goes into a angle that I'm afraid will not protect the inside in the corners close to the back. 3 - I like the aspect of a square backpack that always stays up right, but with the straps in the bottom that will be lost, I would like to have straps on the top too and only as last resource use the bottom ones. I have one question. The pockets on the side have space behind to slide a walking stick, a saw, or something like that?
Outstanding pack and great design, it has all the features most people will need. Even better that you designed it for your needs. If you're open to suggestion, I have one minor one: add a strap of webbing, maybe the same the front straps, to the bottom of the center "axe sleeve" to create an open bottom pocket. This will increase the overall storage space and allow you to choose between using it as a storage pocket or axe sleeve, whichever you need for that particular trip. Thanks for all your great videos -- keep doing what you're doing.
Great vid, great products and made in my own country. The big issue for me therefore will be the pricing of all that kit. As you told us, they are made by small, even tiny 'companies' so I dread to imagine how much each item costs. In fact, I don't even want to know. Someone's comment has already assured me that the pricing is way OTT in comparison to other products. Well done for achieving your dream of branding your own products but they certainly would never be for me. Each to their own and fair play to all who can afford British-made products. I worked for a British manufacturer in the audio industry and I was STUNNED by the pricing of our products. Oh well. Well done again, TA Outdoors man. (Can't see your name advertised anywhere)
good on you for trying to bring back some work to your area, even at a cost to yourself. If more people did this, the old times might return little by little. best wishes for you and your products
Love that pack! I would l like to see a larger version of it. Not a huge 80+ liter pack, but a pack that has room for more than this and has a hip belt/strap.
Beautiful bag !! Only 1 note, the photo bag is not easy to grab quickly. That is a drawback. A solution could be if a shoulder / hip belt would be attached to it, which makes it easier to carry and the camera can be reached quickly. If you are sure that you do not need the camera quickly, just put it in the bag.
Products look great!!!! I love the modular system, i will be looking to get the whole pack, waiting for pay day....end of the month.. I'm so glad that british manufacturing is happening on home ground as you stated. Its the "BEST" i think.... Well done to you for promoting home grown products.... Keep it up Aamir, berkshire
Very well executed design! What I actually appreciate is the light tan interior, especially in the olive pack. That makes seeing items inside the pack so much easier!
Two suggestions that come from military experience: one strap should have a quick release, so helpful when you want to unload at the end of a long day, or if rushed to remove (as in hunting situations); also, the cover should have a zippered pocket for small things that you want to access without opening the bag. Otherwise, super design and fabrication. Congratulations! From Canada.
Great pack for sure buy later but only suggestion is straps for mats and sleeping bags so when you open it the sleeping bag or what not doesn’t always fall out.
Really nice day bag 👍 personally would have liked a little more molle on the outer top flap for extra utility, but appreciate it may seem a bit ‘army’ and put people off. Pack pouches - top idea 💡
We got a lot of awesome ideas from your videos. Our customers will surely love your channel. We will share this with them to get knowledgeable things about bushcraft. Thanks for creating this channel!
Stateside we call the "local, small businesses" Cottage Companies. And I really appreciate the fact you utilized them! Also, what you called as "petty" in the beginning, adds up to major reasons for buying or not buying an item. Its the details that can make or break a sale! Anyway, as we say here in the south, "Ya done good boy, reall good!" 😄
Nice! It's good to see something that has a lot of thought in it's design as well as deliberate quality. The camera bag is the icing on the cake for me and I am sure many others.
Thank you, Sir. I am in the process of sewing together a rucksack copied from the Frost River Isle Royal Senior, but you just gave me some new ideas on what to include. The only issue I see with your pack is the zips... which overtime like snaps tend to fail. It's just a thought and personal preference. Keep the good content coming. Cheers
Nice packs and pouches. Well designed. I can tell you are well chuffed with these. They will sell like hot cakes i'm sure. Next year there should be lots of 'Show us your TA trekker pack' videos from those who buy them. 😀
Love the packs, and would definitely consider getting one if they weren't already sold out lol. Perhaps for a version 2.0 theres a few things I personally would consider; - I'd look at removable zip on side pouches (u zip style), to allow some access behind to slide down an axe/folding saw etc. I think this would give a bit of extra functionality. - A hydration bladder tie off point in the inside of the bag in the small compartment, along with a feeding slot and a clip/tie down point on one of the shoulder straps. - some kind of small waist belt just for added comfort. Great pack mate, hope to get one in the future!
great!! i would ad a matt for sitting or standing on when changing shoes, that can be stowed away in the flat compartment on the back and makes the back more rigid while carrying
Great packs and great video ! Have you thought about making a video in which you show them filled with gear just to really appreciate how much stuff you can fit in them. I would really enjoy seeing that.
great to see how enthusiastic you are about your new line of gear :) I like the made in Britain angle as well and am hoping that this trend starts here in canada as well. Its time to take back the pride of quality products made at home. Good Job Skøl
Mike, You should have belt loops put on the small "pack pouch" that way someone could use the small pouch on a day trip, first aid kit or as a survival kit. Just a thought.
I have been tying to find a affordable cool bushcraft and camping backpack for a LONG time and I have been a subscriber for a while too so when I saw THIS!!!!
That's a great system! I love how you incorporated all the main needs of a bushcraft pack that you really cant find often. I'd love to see a tan version too
I thought this was pretty cool, I like the bushcraft style and I like to go camping and stuff like that, so I thought that this was pretty cool and all, but when you showed that camera cube I was blown away... I'm first and foremost a photographer, so this is SO awesome :) I definitely want one now, thank haha
The backpack is amazing ! Wish i have the money to support this effort ! Keep going man !!! The idea with the small British businesses is perfect !!! GIVE US CONTEEEENT !
The design seems very basic and durable. I like the idea of square bottom to minimize rollovers. I like my packs to stand upright as well when placing them on ground. I will order one. Thank you,
I think I would have preferred a map pocket on the outside of the lid, with a rain flap, for quicker accessibility. Secondly, I would have added zippers or velcro closures on the mesh pockets to stop things like filters falling out. Thirdly, if you are going to add a tent or bed roll on the bottom, it is less likely to stand up straight, as it would with the flat bottom. The shoulder straps looked a little thin, a bit more padding perhaps? Apart from that I think it looks like a nice pack. Great that it is made in the UK, bringing work back home, rather than sourcing it overseas. If you can get enough orders, perhaps you will be able to reduce the price a little. We live in uncertain times and many are unsure if they will have a job to rely on. I wish you every success.
This is like a reinvigorated Swedish LK35. We needed this. It would be great if it had a external frame and waist strap to be better suited for backpacking, hunting, and multi day treks. Perhaps that would necessitate a backpacking centered pack. I’m sure that would blow up here in the states. This would be a great day pack. I can’t wait to see where this line of packs goes in the future. Fantastic. Ingenious.
Congratulations. Seriously well thought out and obviously beautifully made, and for what they are a very reasonable price. My saddle pack will have to last a bit longer until these come back into stock...
This is so cool! I hope to get all your stuf because I like to help the "little guys" and you put a lot of thought into this stuff! I plan to get them for my 3 kids and my self. I'm so excited. I hope to get them before camping this summer.
Great work! Local craftsmen/women manufacturing the product. We must support them. Amazon and China have made their trillions now it is time for the true craftsmanship of our own countries to enjoy the piece of the pie. Peace
There seems to be one pouch missing that Jaxx can fit into when the snows get too deep for his little legs, that is if you intend taking him out on your forages into the woods come winter? Otherwise all looks good but for me not needed, as my next adventure is to build a Camper Car, so tents and outdoor cooking become a thing of the past - did it and had the T-shirt to prove it - now a car duster...Cheers mate for sharing and thanks to Brian for his work input.
This is awesome. I have had numerous maxpedition and 3.11 bags which are also very costly. I am sold on this one because for the first time we have one made in the UK. Perfecto and my order is in. Best of luck.
Nice design.. I modified my US medium Alice bag in similar way.. One thing I would like to add on your bag is rain flap on side pocket zippers along with some webbing to hold stuff.... Overall great design...
I have a 45L Condor pack which I love, but it falls over the second I put it down which makes it difficult to support and access at the same time, so this is more than just a small petty feature! Nice bag!
Great product and it's obvious that you have put a lot of thought into the design. It's out of my budget for a backpack but I'm glad to see you have had a lot of demand for it. Keep up the good work!

Having a bag that stays upright is not petty. Well done
Just ordered mine Mike ,well impressed amazing pack and made in Britain very important to me well done mate
Looks very well-thought-out well done we all know you British guys make good stuff looks tough as nails and Bulletproof good job
Reminds me very much of my Italian rucksacks, but better in every way. I think you have a winner.
good on you for trying to bring back some work to your area, even at a cost to yourself. If more people did this, the old times might return little by little. best wishes for you and your products
Wow, Mike that bag is awesome. Extremely well thought out, Congratulations.
I like everything about this pack.
Simple,strong,local,
I’m getting one!
Only suggestion would be some compression straps on top as well, so you could put a tent on the bottom and sleeping bag on top.
Love that pack! I would l like to see a larger version of it. Not a huge 80+ liter pack, but a pack that has room for more than this and has a hip belt/strap.
I applaud you choosing to make your gear in home Mike. Congratulations on the launch of your own line of gear! 👏👏👏🤘🤘
Magnificent piece of kit mate, preordered. I hope your poor local craftsmen don't end up overwhelmed!
Products look great!!!!
I love the modular system, i will be looking to get the whole pack, waiting for pay day....end of the month..
I'm so glad that british manufacturing is happening on home ground as you stated. Its the "BEST" i think....
Well done to you for promoting home grown products....
Keep it up
Aamir, berkshire
I want one of these for my birthday next summer... How wonderful that they are sold out on the first 24-48 hours. Love the videos!
Incredible design. I’m obsessed with bags and rarely find one with all the right designs. Congrats on the bag! Brilliant.
CAN'T BEAT THE KARRIMOR 45L SF WITH 12.5 SIDE POCKETS.....70L BERGEN! BEST PACK THAT YOU CAN GET FROM THE UK!!!
JIM FROM TEXAS
Thank you, Sir. I am in the process of sewing together a rucksack copied from the Frost River Isle Royal Senior, but you just gave me some new ideas on what to include. The only issue I see with your pack is the zips... which overtime like snaps tend to fail. It's just a thought and personal preference.
Keep the good content coming. Cheers
Great pack, I'm excited to order!!! Maybe a velcro strip on the pouches to label them and keep a bit more organized??? Just a suggestion.
Nice packs and pouches. Well designed. I can tell you are well chuffed with these. They will sell like hot cakes i'm sure. Next year there should be lots of 'Show us your TA trekker pack' videos from those who buy them. 😀
The packs are nice. They are quick, short and to the point as far as accessibility.
Love the packs, and would definitely consider getting one if they weren't already sold out lol.
Perhaps for a version 2.0 theres a few things I personally would consider;
- I'd look at removable zip on side pouches (u zip style), to allow some access behind to slide down an axe/folding saw etc.
Congratulations on creating a fantastic pack. After viewing many of your videos, I have no doubt the quality is exceptional.
Really nice! Hope to see more gear from you and Britain 🙂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very similar design to the canvas East German military surplus pack I bought about 20 years ago, for about $10. that I still love and use.
great!! i would ad a matt for sitting or standing on when changing shoes, that can be stowed away in the flat compartment on the back and makes the back more rigid while carrying
Great packs and great video ! Have you thought about making a video in which you show them filled with gear just to really appreciate how much stuff you can fit in them. I would really enjoy seeing that.
This looks to be one of the best packs I've ever seen. Great idea, I love your work.
Great to see you supporting local craftsmanship! Awesome stuff, keep it up!
great to see how enthusiastic you are about your new line of gear :) I like the made in Britain angle as well and am hoping that this trend starts here in canada as well. Its time to take back the pride of quality products made at home. Good Job Skøl
Looks really well thought out and a good system. Now all you need is your own sleep system, rain gear and tent line of products!
Good looking pack man! Hope it takes off well and good on you for bringing business to the little local guys! That is awesome!
This is genius. I really love the idea and vision of these packs and bags. Proud of what you've managed to accomplish.
Super! No surprise that these sold out already! Great quality and well thought out!
The foraging pouch is pretty much a military dump pouch
Good on you brother! Keep it local, love it.
Even that bag on the hip for kindling! Or mushrooms berries. What a patriot, i dunno what you call it over there.. but yeah represent!
Great work! Local craftsmen/women manufacturing the product. We must support them. Amazon and China have made their trillions now it is time for the true craftsmanship of our own countries to enjoy the piece of the pie. Peace
I hear your excitement and passion, awesome! Your thought and care in producing quality gear. Well Done!😃👍
Brown and gold for the win. Looks very much like an mcq bushcraft frameless Lk35 with pouches 👌
This is awesome. I have had numerous maxpedition and 3.11 bags which are also very costly. I am sold on this one because for the first time we have one made in the UK. Perfecto and my order is in. Best of luck.
Thanks Mark!
A modern LK35 but smaller..looks good.. well done with the project. !
Nice bag!
I need to get these ASAP. Especially those foraging pouches. Lovely.
Great product and it's obvious that you have put a lot of thought into the design. It's out of my budget for a backpack but I'm glad to see you have had a lot of demand for it. Keep up the good work!
WOW! Truly an Awesome bag! I also Love the inside packs that fit “perfectly” inside the bag! Well done👍🏼👍🏼 I’m sold!!!
