This was awesome. More or less how I approach beats--starting with some sort of an arpeggio sort of establishes the parameters for synth, chords progressions, etc. Really nice work on the drums. Simple, but they hit.

I’d love it if you did a tutorial on sound selection, it’s one of the things that I have the hardest time with on beats. I’d love to hear your tips!
What sounds good to your ears? It's that simple...
Once you have something that sounds good.. Then polish it with the eq when mixing...
just decide on what vibe ur going for then pick instruments that can kind of fit into the other sounds you already have. like if i was making a rage beat and I had a lot of long tone synths (i.e. a lead), maybe for a counter melody I'd have a pluck
but u wanna also make sure your counter melody has a sound that slides with the main melody/chords, like for my guitar drill beats I like to use an acoustic to make guitar chords and a smoother electric for the melody

But I keep struggling a bit with how to lay down the chords in piano roll, seeing where I previously had notes played and especially how to start building up in the channel rack like I see you do it. Do you have a tutorial on that for the absolute beginner like myself, that kind of walks me along that holding my hand like I’m 5 years old? 😂
