Brings back the old memories of crazy under rated comp amps
I'm always satisfied/impressed with Rockford amps but this handily little guy is a step up in cool factor in a few ways. Thanks for showing us man.
You're getting really good at going over features and positives/negatives. Great job!
Love Rockford amps always have always will, they are pricey but will last a lifetime
HahasoNotorious 327 You can still buy 20+ year old Rockford amps on eBay that work perfectly, and they still sell for good money. Thats the sign of some well made gear.
Bought this amp on your recommendation through ABT back in 2018 & couldn't be happier paired with a solo Kaption DVC 10" - complete stealth setup. love the amp & your reviews are great!
I'm 47 and I remember my friends vw bug back in 1994 had a couple of fosgate subs and fosgate amp. That system was loud af! Fosgate makes top notch equipment since day one!
Wire ferals is what I used to connect the positive and negative and then shrink tubed them. Less chance of the strands of touching.
Rockford is my favorite brand of car audio I always run fosgate mids n highs, and rca's.
Can't believe that tiny thing put out 1k certified @1 ohm and 2 ohm, on 8 guage wire, and was still 75% efficient. Great little amp. Good explanation on how valuable clip indicators can be. Great video this week.
I agree, the efficiency is great for people looking for decent power in something like a boat or car with minimal electrical. This is also a test with (I believe) sine waves, music draw will be roughly 50-75% of this
Please Dyno the Wet Sounds!
Ryan Blankenship Great pick up. If you can manage to get 4 guage on there somehow, it might do even better! Maybe Rockford has a bigger connector meant for the T-1000 that's compatible? Part #1040-56812 is the best power connector I could find for a TX amplifier. It's $7. They are extremely vauge, with no specs on RF website, but they do make a 4 guage version of that connector for the TX 1000.5
Ryan Blankenship Ahhh gotcha. That was smart. Hopefully you can set it up that way in your boat. Good luck with her. She's a nice amp.
You can run 6ga if necessary, but no reason for 4ga on 1k amp
Super impressive man. Fosgate is still one of the main leaders in car audio today. One of the best made. I love fosgate and I love linear power. I believe by far the 2 best companies when it comes to car audio. It's amazing what they can do today with what they have. Just awesome man.
$300 but tiny powerful and feature packed!!
Awesome little Gem!!
I love my fosgates, and this is why...bangin out the power...
Impressive little amp. Definitely a gem with all those features. My Audiocontrol Three 2 equalizer has a built in clipping detector that I confirmed with a dd-1. At $250 the Three 2 is also a gem. Great job again.
That little thing IS A BEAST!!
Rockford never lets me down 👍
Love it how now you have 213 likes (counting mine) and ZERO dislikes on your video. Nice professional job reviewing this amp. I don't own a boat and i have no particular reason to own a Fosgate amp (i build my own amps) but this is a very nice amplifier for its size, and the price premium does bring some extra perks.
There are plenty of other brands that are simply overpriced with zero benefits over cheaper, less popular ones. RF may not be cheap, but you do get your money's worth.
that's unreal power for such small terminals!!!
As a motorcycle guy I can tell you the RF power ser is very impressive 4-channel is gonna shock you 👊🏻👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice little amp...Impressive for sure!
That amp is a mini beast
This is exactly the information I needed to find out! I've been going back and forth on getting a 3k vs a multi-amp set up. ... I'm leaning toward the multi-amp set up to save space, create a dope amp rack, and take advantage of the built-in fans. I already own a t500x1 PBR rail amp on a single 12" and it's okay but it's time to step up my low end.
U do a great job with your presentations keep up the good work man
This is why fosgates has been king of amps for so long.
RF makes a quality product for sure.
Can’t wait to see what the 4 channel puts out that’s insane.
wow....Rockford is always impressive
Rockford Fosgate for the win...! Love the company.
Rockford fosgate king of amps! IMO
That obvious not an opinion, lol.
Rockford makes amazing amps .
If that birth sheet is correct then that's super impressive for how small that amp is. Haven't finished watching this yet.
I have never been big on Rockford but they actually make high quality products.
keep the great vids comin'!
nice compact amps, for a car like my sports car where weight matters these are a nice option and I love the headroom
Great video. Awesome amp as well
Lot of people always say to get cheaper brands cus u get the same watts but that dont mean shit. Thats awesome they raised the efficiancy of there amps over the years, u can get a rockford and dont have the need for capacitors or extra batteries like alot of cheap amps require which is more money when its all said and done. I got my 1000 power series pushing over 1600 on stock electrical and never had no problems i love rockford.
Love Rockford Fosgate..all their amps numbers are legit also sweet amp Ryan..keep up the good work my friend!!
Pro tip: these "weco" power connectors were originally used in professional electrical settings. Only use them with a Ferrule with the appropriate square crimp
With 8 gauge! Pure SICK!!!!!!!
Freeking love this amp
Incredible!!
Infrasonic filter is 28 Hz @ 12dB/octave Butterworth
Damn that 1 ohm Burst....as a old school RF fan that's two punch 200's type power for a 1/4 of the cost
That actually surprised me. That little thing pushes some juice through it. Rockford has always made good amps though.
As far as I go, Im an MTX fan, but Rockford Fosgate has always been impressive.
James Murray I've used almost every brand, and one of my favorite systems I've heard was an all MTX system with 3 Thunder 9500 Fifteens. It hit so hard and so crisp. Makes me want to order the old style aluminum ones before they dissapear.
It was a Fosgate amp engineer who went to work for MTX and designed their amps in the beginning. Older MTX amps are severely under rated. Come to think of it, it was a "stolen" Fosgate punch 100 amp schematic that started Orion and PPI.
I like how you broke drown the factors that contribute to the price. It is an excellent value. Great job as always bro
I have this on 2x p3 10's. The amp is barely bigger than my S22 Plus phone. It fits under the seat perfectly.
Lovin your vids! Sub@like. Keep it up. Just amazed at how small amps are getting👍
It's a good buy!!!
DANG. I know you mentioned you're hooking this up in your boat... but come on!? I wanna see the inside guts of this thing!
could you test a: jl audio jx1000/1d
would love to see that.
great channel,
Ha, this little thing is a beast.
I like the size. That's the sales point for me. I can hide it and it's twin under an interior body panel.
Thank you for testing this. I always wondered if these little Rockfords put out. I see it has dual fans so I assume it runs a little warm. I guess the next question is will they be reliable over time for daily abuse, err.... I mean use.
Check out 5starcarstereo on UA-cam they install these amplifiers all the time.
That amp is beast
This is the best performing miniature amp I have seen, did u see the k9 on exo channel? I am thinking of getting a couple for my other vehicle and running a couple of these would be great
Rockford came out the gate swinging back in the day, seems like old man fosgate still holds its own. The old amps used 8 gauge and did just fine and those were a/b amps . I think the old 800a2 could do over 900 watts with 8-6 gauge wire. They can just do more with less.
Just think the stealth builds! I could make my Rubbermaid car tote stealth build with a actually good sub now.
My Power 800 did over 1400 rms according to birth sheet
Yup. I've been running a single 12" HX2 off A limited edition Chrome 500a2 since 1999, hasn't missed a beat. Also, I'm running at 2ohm when the amp is only rated for 4ohm, 8 gauge wire. Hasn't skipped a beat for nearly 20 years!
I watched this and my Boss Car Audio system went into shock, lol.
nice dyno video but we need sum guts .. greetings from germany
Not a RF fan, but I gotta say WOW. Impressive mini amp.
RF amps always do more than rated. I love them. Not a fan of any of their other products.
Same here. Rockford speakers are mediocre, but I love their Amps.
Their amps always deliver more than rated power. However, don't really care for their speakers.
@@pohalsted8847 Gotta spend the money on their higher end speakers, huge difference between their Punch line and power line. Prime is crap.
@@chuckmiller5763 I've tried both Punch and Power. I've actually only owned one Punch Product (T3). I've also had a T1. $450 is overpriced for the output/sound quality of the T1. So many better subs can be had for half the price of a T1 both in terms of sound or loudness. I have not heard any door speakers from Rockford's power line that can hold a candle to even the budget line Hertz such as the Mille line. I do understand sound is subjective though. I would take a MPX 165 in my doors over anything that Rockford makes and I wouldn't even put the MPX in my top 15 for rear door speakers.
Wow this is how Rockford used to be way underrated always had more power then advertised and for that small of a package hard to beat wattage wise
use wire ferrels makes small treminals easy
A lot of people don't know but the 4-channel model is actually more powerful than the bigger t 400.4 and it's cheaper it's on par with the t600.4 at 115x4
Amazing!
You didn't end up covering the setup disk. Was it just test tones to set the gain?
GREAT AMP!!! What's the name of that song you play during the dyno run?? Mega bass on that song!!
Rockford amps CANT be beaten!! in terms of quality sq and spl at price point
Hey Ryan, have you put this in your boat yet? If so, how's it holding up?
Where's the review on the 4 channel? I'm thinking about ditching my Sound Stream TN4. 900D (the good board) and getting the 4 channel Rockford, but I'm holding out for your review. Thanks, I love this channel!!!
The guy at the audio shop I go to has this amp hooked up to 8 p2 12s and it beats the hell out of all of them
In true Rockford form, you get the watts you pay for and more. Never let's you down.
Does better than other amps twice the size of it lol
This is an old video, but I remember watching it... Now, on the back end of August of 2021 and Sonic Electronix has one scratch and dent for ummm, I think $335. I'm about to put this on two SI BM Mk3's. Can't wait... and to top that off, going to get the 4 channel version for my other speakers in my TJ. This should be awesome as fuck. I'm glad you make this videos bossman. They're excellent references on top of the entertainment when you get something like this.
Rockford for the win.
Wow...very impressive. Anything else on the market that compares to this size, price, power output? I'm in the market for a mono sub amp.
That was a useful review. I've wondered how good this little amps are. Unrelated question: What is the music you play while testing?
Thanks man! I'm digging the videos. Just watched the fresh Audiopipe review, very cool to see it do rated.
Can you test the 4-channel one for motorcycles
When will you test a JVC DRVN amplifier?
I have the t750x1bd. Same amp, but black. it's birth sheet is 1100 watts.
I've got x2 of those. Very nice little amps.
Are you still going to do the 4 channel dyno?
I heard you say 290, is that a refurbished unit or was that brand new? Great video
I have 2 JL Audio 13Tw5 single 3 Ohm voice coil subs rated at 600 Watts RMS. I was debating on getting 1 amp for each sub but I am not sure how it performs at 3 ohms. I have been looking at these amps and the Punch series. What would be the best setup for my subs?
what do you mean that folks concerned with impedance rise would be interested?
so, for impedance rise, it will put out more power? So 2 JL 12W0v3-4 parallel, 2 Ohm, impedance rise to require ... say 400w RMS/sub, so 800w RMS at 4 Ohm? Is this going to be a good fit?
What you think about the TM1000X5ad for 250 , think I should get ?
Holy smokes.. Almost 1700watt on dynamic.
Mine started smoking like crasy. I played loud when suddely the sub stoped playing. I measured the battery and it wsd 0.7 volts. So the battery was completely destroyed. When i hooked up my new battery the amp starte to smoke. Maybe my fault.
Did you get a chance to test the 4 channel?
Nice
According to your AD1, you had that amp clipping like crazy across the board. You shouldn't be clipping in certified mode. That's supposed to stop at .1% THD. So my question is why was the AD1 showing a clipped signal??
RF will always sit on the throne.
Rockford Fosgate has never let me down!!! Budget gem for sure!!
@4:43 is that a line of coke Ryan 😂😂
lmao
💣💥 That amp its the bomb 💣💥
Anyone know why it has 8 gauge terminals when it can draw over 100A current and Rockford recommends 100A fusing and there is no 8 gauge in the world that can handle that much current?
whats the song you play when your testing.....thanks!!!
Could you please test the Rockford fosgate r500x1d they are 120 bucks. I'd love see the power they can put out.
I just bought one. It had a birth sheet that said 648 watts at 2 ohms. I believe every word of it. I hooked my 4 ohm tens up in a 2 ohm load in my truck and them were slapping pretty hard.
What was the draw on the 5k wolfram? 4500.1
Where is the link for ABT? The one for the amp is not good.
That is a lot of amperage through the 8 gauge wire, I'm guessing most people would run a 4 gauge or higher and distribute a short 8 gauge lead to the amp. Very impressive though. One day we will achieve 90%+ efficiency.
wow very nice., can't believe it's so small.. pricey compared to mine (and my ppi does more power @ 1 ohm) but mine don't have the clip lights, it just cuts out for a second when it clips and I turn it down.. rf will be great for your boat, u using fu or Rockville sub?
There are so many decent, inexpensive subwoofers around now. It would be awesome if you could do a budget gem or budget bust series for inexpensive woofers. I don't know how difficult that would be for you to do, but it would be an awesome expansion for the channel.
Damn, 1690 rms out of a 750 rms amp. Although im not surprized being that its coming from a Rockford amp.
How to you think this amp compares to the DAmore E750? I like how compact this is but wonder if the E750 is cleaner
I have the damore e1000.1 and T750. I honestly like the t750 a bit more. Can't tell any sound quality differences. They appear similar in power output as well (on music).
