      Aww Brandon, you're so sweet. There's so much I want to give to my patients and our community, but sometimes, I find that a smile is the best (and only) thing I can offer in times of loneliness or darkness. I never want to forget that I'm treating a person, not a diagnosis, and every human being can use a smile every now and then. The human touch is the most powerful thing...

    I like to remember the Boutonnière deformity by thinking "bottoms up!" or "booty up" or "bout" up (short for Boutonnière) due to the PIP flexion!

    I have a post flexor injury and I’ve had surgery on my predominant hand little finger my finger feels useless and I can’t straighten my finger anymore. It’s making my normally strong hand feel weak. Do you have any suggestions pl😢ease

    • @Isaiah024
      @Isaiah024 7 місяців тому

      Do you not have physical therapy? They should have gave you exercises and maybe even putty for that finger. We have the same injury both in our dominant hand and pinky but you should be doing hand exercises multiple times a day so that your finger doesn’t get stiff from the scar tissue.

    What about partial laceration of zone 2?

  • @GuilhermeGomesmmm
    @GuilhermeGomesmmm 7 місяців тому +1

    i ruptured 5 extensor tendons on what would be zone 9 (where there are more muscles - upper outer forearm) and kept imobilized for about 1 month, im now 2 weeks without the cast and into PT for about 6 sessions, doing daily.
    my hand is 24/7 in a plank state, like straight from palm to fingers. and i cant really bend my fingers (only like 10% ROM at best), after that it feels like blocked to go further. same goes for my wrist up or down movement which is even worse.
    what do you think about my experience? please answer, doctor, i'm so afraid

    • @GuilhermeGomesmmm
      @GuilhermeGomesmmm 7 місяців тому

      they can "move" with passive movement, like the therapist moving it -hurts-. but it wont actively.

    • @Isaiah024
      @Isaiah024 7 місяців тому

      I cut my pinky finger pretty bad and had to get tendon surgery and even tho your injury sounds a bit worse than mine it was really about patience and doing whatever exercises you gotta do daily. My surgery happened November 15 so it’s been a couple months but I’m still tryna get my full range of motion back in my pinky but my PT said it could take up to a year for my injury to “fully” heal and even then it might not ever be the same.

    • @Isaiah024
      @Isaiah024 7 місяців тому

      I was at the same place as you tho where after the surgery I could barely move pinky in anyway. I’m pretty sure that’s because of the scar tissue and that’s what the exercises that were probably given to you are for.
