Watching this a second time! I miss doing this as I am old and can't do it anymore. Thank you for sharing and bringing back memories. I know other tricks to digging for all sorts of clams in this area. I was doing this when I was about 7 or 8 and my friends always asked me to go with when harvesting cams, I miss those days. Thank you for sharing so I can enjoy those times again. ❤️
To use clam gun...push down as far as you can as you twist left to right, pull lever up and pull out sand. Don't go up and down as you use it. It works on suction. That is why it broke. 😉Keep digging and learning. I was digging these when I was a child. Hard work but so worth it.
@@TriNguyenNWOutdoors 3 per day per person, that means you can go back tomorrow to catch another 3? day after day? no limit? in california, I think that there is a max number of 20 geoducks that each person can catch during one year.
@@mr.commander3947 Yes, you're correct. 3 per person is the daily limit. There not many on the beach, so the more time you come back then higher chance you'll come home empty handed 😃
It's true that part of the beach is private but boundary ends where the high tide at. I think the rest of the beach belong to the state, so it's accessible to the public from sea. Home owners think the own the whole beach but it's not true though. Cops were called there multiple times but most of the time they only explain to the owners that the don't own the whole beach. I am not sure about Tribal land but I'll double check. Thanks!!
@@TriNguyenNWOutdoors Home owners think they own the beach to the mean Low Tide line ,Because they do . Cops are compleatly ignorant about property lines. The legal descriptions are Public Record. You can't just make up your own rules, because you want something that belongs to someone else. Your fortunate you had contact with Islanders that will call the cops . A lot of them won't.

I live there and there is normally a little hole that sprays out water
Yes, each person can keep only 3 per day. When you on the beach, look for sign the shoot out water. It's siphon/neck is about the size of the toe.
