Warning to South Africa. You do not conduct populist land reform irresponsibly and expect not to face the severe repercussions thereof. Zim today could be a powerhouse in agriculture as it was years ago. This is no longer a white and black issue because still today black farmers are getting evicted by Zanu PF illegally
It was a bad move from the beginning and those pan africanist and woke gang were nowhere to be seen when shit started to hit the fan for zimbabweans. And sadly south africa wants to replicate the failed zimbabwean land reform.
They did good by retaking their land, although the manner that it was done wasn't right. Zimbabwe has had issues for several reasons. The government didn't train and support it's farmers. Cronies were given farms. Sanctions was a powerful factor in bringing them to the table. The question you should be asking yourself is,when the land was stolen, why didn't the west impose sanctions??? Why weren't Black farmers compensated when their land was stolen. My family has a valid and legal claim to more than 4000ha and we are waiting for more than 20 years to get that land that was stolen from my grandfather. You can't come here and make such a statement that you think is smart but,is uninformed.
@@jo-d-lo38 your long irrelevant essay won't change the fact that while you talk about colonizers the international law on land rights that your country ascribed to recognizes them as your fellow zimbabweans hence any regime that takes the land from its citizens without compensation goes against the same law. Whatever measures the zimbabwean government could have taken your country at the end would never have survived the sanctions And this is why they're now talking about compensation long after the land chaos has destroyed zimbabwe. You can be emotional all you want but no country in Africa can survive the embargo.
Literally the dumbest thing iv heard this year, weren't they expecting a payment from the UK Gov,now they are paying out instead of helping the less fortunate in Zim
Zims are so smart that once they got their land back millions of them fled to SA. What is even more stupid is that some in SA think this is a good thing and it could be repeated in SA. Where will Saffers flee to when that happens?
It's a smart move by Government. You need food more than technology. If the revive the agricultural sector they will create strong currency and export more that alone will attract investors
As non Zimbabwe, I still don't think this will happen, but lets wait and see, I see politics at play here, they started by lying that they killing elephants for food

Zambia is very happy that Zim fucked up, now Zambia is a major exporter😮
If they have compensated these farmers it's time the EU should take down sanctions against Zimbabwe
They used to be the bread basket of Africa . Not anymore 🌎😳
Now it's a basket case
Bread basket for the Europeans mate not natives

They will never compensate them 😂it’s just politics
Maybe they can recall farmers and then create jobs and Zims can go back home.

Oh, wow! so reparations are a viable and necessary solution even for poor African countries?

I hope the EFF members are learning from Zimbabwean government how not to start something they cant finish
And that EFF doesn't want land for all SAns,they want it for themselves while poor will remain poor without land
It was a political gimmick imposed by the War Veterans it was not implied by educated Zimbabweans but it affected the majority of poor people
Take notes S.A.
The loss of the farmers killed Zimbabwes whole economy and displaced many if us, black and white
...that's an admission that no life without those who civilized you
