Short, sweet & too the point. Very helpful. Your videos are great.
I appreciate that! Thank you!
You talked me into it. Liked and subscribed. I have a new RC Gen8 still in the box and these mods will help me greatly. I look forward to watching and learning from your other videos so thanks!😊👍👌
Hey.. it's a great truck and a good value at that! It performs faily well out of the box, and really that's all you can ask for.
It will be my first but probably not my last crawler. I don't see either me or Miss Bly getting them too muddy but I think we can have fun just the same. Thanks again for the informative videos.👍👍
Nice work brother.👍
Will be looking into the ends thanks.
Thanks for the tip, i just ordered the gen8 pack, so i ordered some bent rod end as well :)
Happy to share! Thanks for watching!
Really nice dude that works very well! Damn bump steer
Damn RedCat LOL! Did a lot of nice work.... until the steering setup...
Thanks for watching!
Great video always enjoy watching your little tips👍
Always happy to share what I come across! Thanks for watching!
What a goos video my friend~!!👍👍👍
Good job brother. Thanks for sharing. 👍👊🤙
Thanks for the continued support! It's all about sharing and fun in this hobby!
Awesome Tip
Thank You for Sharing
Full watch and Like My Friend hope you Enjoy your day 👊✈️
Appreciate your support! Thanks for watching!
Love the scout ii!!
👍
I added a brace from where that panhard bar mounts to axel. To my diff cover. The problem also lies that the suspension on left side is softer. Causing u to steer left. And if the trucks leaning your loosing turning. The brace stiffens it up. Now when I slam on brakes the wheels don’t crank left. Videos on UA-cam . Just need a piece of aluminum that’s stiff enough to hold but not to stiff that you can bend it
To the solve axel housing sorry. Top left screw
Definitely a spot that could use a brace! I'll get around to it eventually lol!
Super 👍
Nice work... Yeah should definitely be a lot better. 😉👍🏻
Yup, a step in the right direction for sure. Thanks for watching!
Awesome mod brother
Appreciate it! Thanks for stopping by!
@@RevolutionX 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Nice 😀👍👍
Thanks for the tip. I've trying to figure out a way to fix the binding issue.
Always happy to share what I come across! Glad to be of help!
Old video but if you add a 2mm spacer between the servo horn and drag link it will help with bump steer making it almost non existent. Its just the Rod end binding, doing the angled ones helps majorly like you did. If that didnt end the BS, add a spacer between the top of the knuckle and Drag link rod end. That drag link will be overall at a much better angle at full travel and full compression to end that bump steer.
The Gen 8 in short wheelbase has been doing well for me recently at CDM
Yeah, I haven't really done anything to it since last year. I drove it at CDM and it did well even with the huge body. I actually bought a bunch of the upgraded parts that Redcat for it including the flat skid and updated axle housing, etc. I'll get around to working on it again and taking it out!
👍Cool mod!
Now if someone can redesign that front bumper bracket.... we might be able to get it perfect!
Nice mod
Yep, I think this was a step in the right direction!
Man, I didn't get a notification for this video🤔 looks like you also reversed the servo?? Good stuff brother👍
Didn't reverse the servo. You'd have to move the axle backward (less approach angle) or move the servo forward in order to prevent servo horn from hitting axle on compression. Would need to make a new bumper mount to accommodate that if I don't want to move the axle back.
@@RevolutionX your steering horn is on the side of the truck closest to the knuckle that your drag link connects to. The stock servo like in my truck is on the opposite side. I would have to turn my servo around 180° or reverse it, to be in the same position as yours
@@BullgearRCvideos Oooooh! That type of reverse. Yes I did do that! I thought you meant having the servo horn pointed towards the rear of the car. Yeah you have to flip it left to right in order to let the draglink reach the knuckle.
how does the draglink compare to the panhard in length? I think they also have to be the same to remove bump steer as well as the angle.
Glad you brought that up. They are roughly the same length. I made sure to check when I took it off. One of the reasons I decided to stick with the stock draglink instead of making a new one.
Looks like you flipped your servo around to make up for the difference in distance from the side of the tie rod to the knuckle.
Hmmm, I might have. I honestly don't remember as it's been a while. I'll have to check.
Thx for the quick reply. Every time I use my gen 8 I’m always constantly trimming the steering knob on my controller it just won’t go straight
Are you using the stock radio?
Yes
Nice mod. I wonder if it works with a regular aluminum servo horn
It'll work, but not as well. The key is to get low profile so that the angle of the draglink matches the angle of the panhard bar.
@@RevolutionX Gotcha. Did you use a longer screw for the relocation of the drag link on top of the knuckle?
@@SnarkyRC Yep, you'll need a longer screw for that.
Mine won’t go straight. I’ve tightened all the nuts n screw any idea
Need a little more detail about what won't go straight.
You swapped ur servo position around, right?
Yes, did I forget to mention that? Bummer. Yeah you need to swap it around or the link isn't long enough to reach the knuckle.
@@RevolutionX I don't think you said anything about that in the video. But when I was comparing my truck to yours, I was like, is he filming this in a mirror or is this shit backwards from stock? LOL. I ended up just turning my around and using that same mounting point. Btw, do you have slightly offset hubs on urs? I notice a slight bit of rubbing, so I think I'll add 8mm hubs. Finally, how far on ur stock transmitter can you put your steering throw? Just wondering what to expect once I get rid of the slight rub. Thanks!
@@abc123def98 I am using aftermarket wheels, so that is probably the reason I don't rub. I also don't use the stock transmitter! :) I'm using a FlySky GT3C.
