I’ve shared this before, but it’s worth saying again: this podcast is one of my absolute favorites. Top 3 and it’s not #3. Certain episodes, like the one on archetype embodiment, have had a profound impact on me, and now this latest episode has had a similar effect. I’ve always been clear on my wellness goals and the steps I need to take to achieve them, but I often struggled to find the discipline to follow through. Listening to these episodes gave me the motivation and clarity I needed to truly commit to taking action. One part of this latest episode really resonated with me when you two spoke about being a ‘smart Black girl’ and the layers of identity that come with that. For years, this was a sensitive area for me. Many people assumed I showed up fully as myself because of my big personality, but in reality, I often held back, limited by insecurities rooted in my upbringing. While I’m far from ashamed, I’ve always been deeply aware that I grew up in a community underserved (the projects) in terms of educational resources, which created a sense of self-doubt when I found myself among highly educated Black women. Hearing you two talk about this was triggering in the best way, as it encouraged me to confront those insecurities head-on with so much more joy & confidence. Now, I’m fully embracing my own path - investing in my growth, reading more, and continuously working to develop my skills. It’s a powerful reminder of how far I’ve come and the potential I still have. Thank you so much for committing to this work on your podcast. You are so thorough and so consistent in the message always comes across very clear.
I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation! As one who’s 49, I so enjoy hearing the journey of evolution, self discovery & awareness, intellectual curiosity, nuance & all the girly things of my younger sisters. Great job! 👏🏾
Oooh Les, look at you. All dressed up. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I think DRESSED for SUCCESS is an UNDERSTATEMENT for you Todays segment. Love ❤❤❤❤❤ the hair and the fit. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Regarding 40:10, If you are a generalist, you'll want to have a network (Rolodex) of people who are specialists that can provide expert information on a specific subject matter. That way when you have a follower of your content that comes to you with a specific question or concern, you can refer her to the expert. By doing this you're creating value for the specialist as well as your follower. Honestly, it may even help to start inviting specialists to your show to talk about their specific subject matter, Just engage your audience to determine if that would have value to them.
this was so healing to watch. i just know everyone who was able to partake in person went home with full hearts 😌
A guilty pleasure of mine to hear this podcast weekly!!
No need to feel guilty 🤭
