    When we talk about clones in science we mean organisms that are identical copies - they have the
    same DNA as each other. Identical twins are examples of naturally occurring clones. Both plants and animals can be cloned. Watch this video to find out how!

    What I don’t think people understand about cloning animals, is that when a clone is made, it’s more like a sibling. It’s not going to have the same personality. It just has the same physical traits. So it’s exactly like a twin.

      @@fuseschool Hello again! While writing up the project I came up with a few questions regarding adult cell cloning.
      1. Since an egg cell is needed for the embryo, does this mean that only females can be clonified? Since a male would need an egg cell from another organism for the formation of an embryo then it could not be a perfect clone could it?
      2. This question is sort of derived from the first one. In the cloning of Dolly only females are used, so the resulting lamb would always be female since there is no male in the proccess right?

    I have a question for Adult Cell Cloning:
    Can the cloned embryo be feetilized with a sperm instead of the electric shock? Will that, if possible, result to a normal type of embryo formation and growth?

    • @Aziz-wl1xf
      @Aziz-wl1xf 3 роки тому +1

      No, because a sperm needs a nucleus with which it connects and starts to form an embryo. As the video says, nucleus must be removed from the egg cell to produce a clone. If you don't remove the nucleus, that is no longer cloning (copying DNA) but simple fertilization (new, unique DNA).

      We already genetically modify some animals to be used as a food source, they grow extremely fast and provide large amounts of meat. I don’t remember the species, but there’s a type of chicken that grows so fat that it eventually breaks its legs from being too heavy.
