You're right... i used an autoleveling tool in the video edit, because the different presets didnt had the same volume (unison was louder). but i should have cranked it up at the end... thanks for the feedback, i will keep that in mind for future videos! :)
This is just killer sound, design, and price in every way, down to the reverb. I know it's not what Dreadbox are doing generally, but I would fork out 200 or 250 bucks extra for an integrated keyboard, battery operation, onboard delay/arp/and sequencer, and maybe a few more direct controls. I can say this about all their synths basically but this is the winner for me. Stunning
@@christopherthomasrichardso9014 Funny you should say that because I've thought it was really cool and been intrigued by it, but it crosses over into too much complexity and too many buttons for me. My polyphonic analog synth will probably end up being either the Sequential Take 5 although the MophoX4 and Elektron Analog Keys look/sound cool too. I had a Deepmind 6 for about 6 months and hated the interface with a passion. EDIT: plus the pads are reminiscent of my Novation Circuit, which is good and bad at the same time. I really enjoy a keyboard, or at least two octaves of offset pads that look like a keyboard. But yes, the Medusa is a feat of sound and cool interface.
@@electrosonicnebula I just got the Nymphes and slowly warming up to the sounds, yes there are good polyphonic pads, would’ve like more of them as presets. A bit of external chorus this really is a winner! Medusa was mentioned, I had it and eventually sold it because I didn’t use the grid at all and the resonance was harsh at high levels. The Nymphes sounds reminds me of the ones in Medusa, has better filter. The Medusa sure is interesting though, never got to try the new FM synthesis on it
@@mankku81 All good to know, thanks. It will be interesting to see what I fancy when I finally have the money to buy a poly synth, which I hope will be soon. I like the Vermona Perfourmer too although it's mostly for a different sort of use of the multiple voices. Yes, the Medusa beautifully gives you both analog and digital sounds!
Wonderful sounding synth… Add Erebus, Hypnosis, and Typhon you have an ambient monster set-up… The one wish I have Dreadbox is to make their take on an analog drum machine.
You can either play 1 note with up to 6 voices (unison), oder 2 notes with 3 voices (duophonic) or 3 notes with 2 voices (tri) or 6 notes à 6 voices (poly). The pitch detune can only be set globaly as far as i know.
@@JohnTrasher I believe its the OSC design itself if you get their eurorack osc and a/b it to another osc module it is plainly audible, hard to describe but they are capable of this very haunting cutting sound that i cant get out of other analog synths.
6 Oscs share the same filter and envelopes. You can distribute the oscs to 1 note each (6 voice polyphonie with 1 osc per voice) oder 3 voice polyphonie (2oscs per voice) or 2 duophonie (3osc per voice) oder 6 osc in unison. Depends on you definition
I bought this and LOVE it but I'm getting an insane amount of ground noise :/ I may have to return it. Any solutions that can maybe fix this issue you are aware of?
Did you use the usb cable that came with it? Or use a different "handy charger"? Usb power can sometimes bring some ground noise. Try this First before returning. I didnt havd a noticeable noisefloor.
@@JohnTrasher Yeah, I used the one it came with and tried others. I also then plugged the audio and USB into my other devices and they are worked fine. Not sure if my computer is able to power all the USB devices/controllers I have attached to it maybe. Thanks for the reply!
@@dzman1976 If you have anything that pulls substantial power over USB, you need to be using a powered hub. Computer ports are hypothetically supposed to be able to supply 500mA to a USB 2.0 port, but based on the computer it may be as bad as 100mA. A powered USB hub will supply sufficient power to all ports and should do so without becoming stressed supplying the power, thus inducing noise.
Hydra costs 20% more though, but it has a Keyboard and screen, which comes in handy. Both great value for money. I would go for the hydrasynth first though if i hadnt got already one.
Dreadbox have made some awesome sounding synths, but this isn't one of them as far as I'm concerned. People who compare the Nymphes to a Juno 106 need hearing aids, seriously. Price and portability is great with this one, though.
What are your favourites?
Finally a video with the sounds, thank you so much.
Youre Welcome, and thanks for your comment! :) i uploaded another short video where you can hear it Play insomnia if you want to check it out
Good video, but you need to increase the volume of the recording or streaming.

This sounds nice. All of the presets!

Yeah ~84€/voice in this formfactor is great
You might like the Dreadbox Medusa

Sounds beautiful!
nice sounding analog poly to fill in the gaps of a mono monster like a mini or 2600
Yeah 6 voices in this small size!
Thank you Dude
De rien, copain! :D
Fantastic demo
Thank you very much!
Super Musterstücke. Daraus lassen sich bestimmt geniale Lieder mixen. Bin gespannt, was Du Dir über Weihnachten einfallen lässt ;-)
Sind teilweise von meinen Songs hier auf UA-cam entnommen, v.a. die mit dem Deluge, aber auch manche so eingespielten! :D

I guess the market on drummachines is already taken and satisfied...
Nice, thanks!
Good demostration GG
Thank you!

Thank you!
lovely video, sounds a little thin?
Maybe the UA-cam compression. But yeah the poly d sounds thicker. Also, here no external fx were added
a huge variety, but few nice
Is it 6 voices with 6 oscillators ? like Can we alter each voices' pitch on polyphonic mode? Im a newbie for that stuff , thanks.

A lot of white noise no ?

why is this video so quiet ?
Sorry, i did some auto leveling, so all sounds have the same volume

Software for edit on pc?
No, only adjusted the Volume inside video editing program to match the volumes of all presets and voiceover
It is noisy the audio out?
No, i didnt notice... some of the noise in the video is due to automatic volume adjustment in the editing program

This or the ASM Hydrasynth Explorer? Big fan of Dreadbox gear, but I’m still leaning towards the ASM. “But it’s analog, dummy.” “Ik and don’t care” 😂

VOLUME!!
I was so much hoping to like the sound of this synth but I don't.

Great! ..just the sound is too quiet
Thanks! I tried to level the Volume to equal across all presets in post production... 😅
Thanks but lower volume 😏
I tried to auto match volume across all presets 😁

Srsly, I have no idea why people keep comparing this to the Juno.
Too quiet
