      @@FindingSpeed thanks! thanks for support! one question :) after i improve my rank (from rookie for D) if my Isafe decreases, i return to rookie? or never more i will be rookie?

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  11 місяців тому

      You do lose licences if your safety rating becomes too low, but I don’t think you ever return to rookie (D becomes the lowest possible class).

    I'm just new to Iracing, Best I could manage was a 1.00.987 so far but I see what I'm doing wrong after watching your video, I press the brakes way to much in compare to you. That said I can take turn 3 full throttle when I come out turn 2 good. I only knew this was possible by watching the fastest guys in the practice sessions. I noticed you lift the throttle there slightly. So I dunno if it's a minor adjustment you could make to even go faster or just different driving styles? The guy's I was watching also got sub 1.00.000 times. Thanks for the video. Likes and subscribed.

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  11 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching and commenting. In cooler track conditions it’s likely possible to do it full throttle more easily. A small lift is fine in my opinion - good for saving the tyres too. Good luck!

      @@FindingSpeed Hi again! I'm just wondering, I want to race gt3 cars and I'm wondering which one is the best. I have heard that the Lamborghini huracan gt3 car is good all round, but I also want a car that I can race in loads of different series. What series are good for gt3 racing? I'm also thinking about getting Spa and Nurburgring as I really like those tracks.

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  11 місяців тому

      The GT3 car that appears in the most series is the Ferrari. It has a D class fixed series dedicated to it so you’ll be able to jump into official races the quickest. It’s fun to drive and usually pretty competitive elsewhere. Lambo is nice too, though. Spa and Nurb are very popular tracks and appear on the GT3 schedules every season so they’re very sensible purchases in terms of value for money 🏁

    May i have a question sir? I wonder why you upshift before you see the red rpm light? Is it much better? I always upshift when i see the red light in the rpm lights, so i wonder am i wrong or it is not a big difference? Thank you sir...

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  6 місяців тому +1

      Not a big difference, but the sweet spot for torque in the Mazda is just above 7k RPM. Good luck on the track.

    which overlay app you use for that brake, throttle telemetry?

    I have no idea if you're still replying to comments on here but during turn 2 - 3 while im shifting down, Im spinning out as I hit first, do you have any tips or idea why?

    • @purpaxle7871
      @purpaxle7871 9 місяців тому

      Nvm I think I hit the nail on the head, if you aren't right on that curve there is some form of off angle on the track which causes the car to bounce and lose traction

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  9 місяців тому

      Hi. Can’t be sure without seeing, but it sounds to me that you need to blip the throttle as you shift into 1st so your revs don’t get too high and break traction in the car. You only need to tap the throttle to about 30% as you shift down to 1st, but it takes a bit of practice to get it working. The alternative is to shift later when the revs are lower (but it’s a slower alternative if you’re trying to get some engine braking going on).

    • @purpaxle7871
      @purpaxle7871 9 місяців тому

      @@FindingSpeed I have auto blip on, do you reckon that's the problem for a few of my issues, the blip I'm pretty sure 100%s the throttle for the gear

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  9 місяців тому

      @purpaxle7871 turn auto blip off. It doesn’t do anything for the MX-5. A manual good blip down to first is all you need (and the auto blip is far too small)

    Turns out deciding to get a wheel, learn racing, and do it in iracing from the start was one of my more... ambitious... ideas. It's compelling enough that it's been tearing me away from flight simming in DCS and I'm seeing some improvement. I take it from my being in the very bottom percentile of rookies that most people don't go straight to iracing, maybe they start with AC or AMS. I got those in a recent bundle that started this whole obsession but with so little muscle memory, switching sims seems a bad idea.
    For now pushing as hard as I'm able to while keeping incidents to a wheel in the grass is the goal. Improve the line = better entries and exits = less incidents and more speed. Only took 8 laps last night to get started on this course and put up 1:04.5 so I have a lot of work to do. Until then when I look at average driver's times I'll just remember "yeah but I bet he couldn't hop in DCS and take off in a Mosquito without crashing 20 times" 😆
    Edit: hit 1:02.9 in my first race. Now to take another look at this video and shave off a few more tenths. Thanks for making these!

    Do you only need to blip shifting down to first gear in this car? I’ve been blipping on every downshift this whole time 🫠

    • @FindingSpeed
      @FindingSpeed  6 місяців тому +1

      First gear for sure, sometimes coming down to 2nd if the revs are high enough and the car is off balance. No need to blip otherwise.
