Let's make this text as big as it is possibly possible to see the limits 😃

I have not driven the Mazda at all since they made the major changes to it a year+ ago. First session on hot track was consistently in mid :46's. Was definitely leaving a little bit on the table braking into T1 and T4 onto the back straight. Also was giving about 20% brake for 6/7; I have to try just lifting there and hovering brakes. Glad to see you're still making guides for the MX-5!! The car seems incredibly loose now and a lot harder to extract the performance, but a lot more fun to drive!

Hey! I did the same thing for a long while. I was very good with the old Mazda, but totally sucked after those changes. I didn't drive it for almost a year until I did pick it up again and learned to drive it after all.
In case you choose to do the same; this is what helped me: I started downshifting later; downshifting while still too high in RPMs turned out to be my main cause of spin outs. (Gear blipping might also work but I'm not good at that). Also, I got reaaaaally sensitive on the steering wheel while braking, sometimes you only need a really small bit of steering while tapping the brakes to make it turn in. With these changes and a lot of practice, I almost never spin out again.
But most of all I just wanted to say I understand you, it caused me a lot of frustrations in the beginning, because it felt like I lost my hobby for a while, and I was quite angry about that!

Just recently got into sim racing and actually surprised I found this line before the video but definitely noticed some points I can break later and accelerate earlier.

I'm pretty close to that line, I have to work on my braking zones getting the car down to that perfect speed

Are you using a different Mazda to me? I'm having trouble getting the car around the first corner at the same speed you are. Massive understeer. I'll keep practicing!

Nope, it's the same car in the baseline setup. As mentioned in the intro, the times you can actually drive in the online sessions are a bit slower due to the high temps.
You can check the stream I've linked in the info cards where I drove races there this week. I think my quickest time was a 44.8 in a quali and 44.6 in a race.
When the car is understeering then you're entering the turn with too much speed. Try it a bit slower =)

Are you trail braking? That helps a lot! == Slowly release the brakes while steering more, easing between braking and steering, so your tyres don't have to do too much of both at the same time.

Thanks for the guide! Really appreciate, but sometimes I found it hard to hear what you are saying >___< !

I guess it's because I've still the tendency to speak a bit too fast sometimes? 😅
I used to debate competitively. You've a fixed time limit there for your speech so the quicker you speak, the more content you can fill into your slot.
I can see how a few parts are too rushed in this one. Sorry! I'm trying to keep an eye on that and constantly work on my pacing, but sometimes a few of those old habits slip through.

Road America, I don't cover the licensed tracks so there won't be a video this week.

Yes? I always released my guides on sundays/mondays this season because some people want to start their practice early.
