I have a 20 gallon tank with 6 cherry barbs, 2 otos , 2 mystery snails, around 12 different colored neocaridina, 1 ghost shrimp, and 4 amano and they’re doing great! I just saw a baby amano!!!!
Oh wow! Keep an eye on it because newborn Amano larvae usually need brackish water to survive before they switch to freshwater when they become juveniles.
Ah shit, ur lucky ur supplied water prolly is perfect for shrimps My tap water ain't ideal for shrimps I think , so they live but don't multiply easily
Yes you can. You can roughly fit 5 shrimp per gallon but keep an eye on your water parameters and they can fluctuate easily in small tanks. The goal is to ensure your water is kept stable as shrimp are sensitive to extreme changes.
Everyone has their own method and if you're seeing success with 20 minutes, that's excellent. I've always done approximately 3 hours based on advice shared to me by other shrimp keepers.
Would an Amano (or cherry?) be able to handle a current maker in a 10 gal? My tetras love it and swim against it all the time but I also need some shrimp to help with algae
The Amanos should be able to handle it because I have Short Nose Shrimp which are similar to Amanos and that 55 gallon tank has a wavemaker in it as well and they climb all over the protector case to eat the algae off it. Red Cherry Shrimp may be a bit on the smaller side but they could end up staying on the substrate for the most part avoiding the wavemaker.
@@shrimplycanadian awesome, thank you. The current maker is pretty close to the top so I feel like the cherrys would have room. I think they’d look better with all of the color in the tank to.

What should I do if the shrips multiply very fast?
Thanks for reply
You can always look at selling them or getting a larger tank. How big is your current tank? Usually things balance out.

@@sharminsultana1425 What type of shrimp do you keep? Have you tested the PH level of your water?
@@shrimplycanadian tbh no I didn't test the pH but I think it's around 7
I have neocaridina shrimps
Is your water temperature at around 72 F? If it's too cold, they tend to breed slower.
i only have a 3 gallon :( could i still keep a few cherry shrimp in it?

Thank You! My friend @Shromp.shrimp might give me some of the babies that have just hatched once my tank is fully cycled.@@shrimplycanadian
@@TerrariumCartel That's good to hear :)
@@TerrariumCartelTell me how it went , I m planning to do same in a small tank
@@sharminsultana1425 I will
Do Red Cherry and Nano Shrimp eat small fish?cuz i have neon tetras in my tank
No they won't unless they're dead already.
It’s entirely likely to be the other way around 😂
Neons, will eat small shrimp.
Hello. Could amano, and cherry shrimp interbreed ?
No they cannot as they are two different types of species.
🙏😎
Please consider using metric units. The world is not the US.
Thank you for your feedback 😊
3 hours?? i drip acclimated mine for like 20 minutes and they were fine

@@KyleV00 Just ensure they cannot get sucked into it. You may need to get a 3d printed cover if they have easy access to the blades.
