Another point from me on something David said about his initial presumption that he would have to work harder to justify his employer appointing him; I am so glad that you gave realised this at the start of your career, David. Speaking from personal experience, I think a lot of disabled people have anxiety about themselves many years into their careers. The fact you know that you've been recruited on your own merits now, will help you develop with confidence in the future. 🙂👍
I really enjoyed watching that video. I'm so happy and pleased that David is doing something that he genuinely enjoys, and that all his self taught learning is now paying off. :)
Ability Street I have been cut back from full time which is 40 hours a week and also took a hourly pay cut. Waiting 11 weeks for monetary assistance from the state of Arizona so far.
Great input. Mild cp here, mostly invisible to most until I'm asked to do anything that involves large physical movements or fine motor skills. Working in a warehouse right now, having a lot of difficulty managing the job. Maybe computers is something that would be better suited.
My thing is I have mild cerebral Palsy I've been a interior firefighter for 7 years and am a certified welder but no one will hire me due to the CP I'll get an interview and I'll get a hey we have more interview and we'll get back to you and then I never hear anything back it's super freaking annoying I wish they could just say thanks for coming in but you aren't a good fit boom done
I know this, it was from a year ago but that’s exactly how it goes for me being somebody with cerebral palsy I’m able to get one or two interviews but never a call back one time I did get a call back from one of the places that was just to tell me that I didn’t get the job
@@thecapableplanet7885 just keep on trucking planet I'd recommend if you don't already try and find a Vocational rehabilitation counselor. they can help you with finding employment when I got my job with Walmart back in 2013 my VR counselor actually went to my job interview with me, I no longer work for Walmart I switched to fire full-time I'd recommend definitely recommend getting a VR counselor it'll make getting employed a little easier they can also help you go through college or trade schools

Great advice, I have been very fortunate and grateful to be able to work 3 or 4 days a week with all that is going on in the world today.
Thanks, buddy! is that post COVID you have those hours or is those normal days for you?
