I played with dolls, loved dress up and painting my nails as a kid, I was very feminine but still a boy I felt like a boy and still do. I also still paint my nails. Being a child with traits of the opposite sex doesn't push you to be trans. Straight cis male.
cis (though i am bi haha) girl here. as a child i was told i acted "like a boy" because i was loud, rational, and angry. the fact that clothing, hobbies, and even personality traits are gendered is so fucking stupid to me.
Yes sir!! We love men like you!! And the cis straight men who are afraid to do stuff just because it is "not what real men do" and think that it will somehow ✨magically✨ change their gender/sexuality just shows how insecure they are
I will be walking down the street with my girlfriend (she is bi) and have homophobic slurs shouted at me because I have my nails painted or one day I'm wearing my unicorn baseball cap. These are just small fashion choices I occasionally make and when people shout these abusive things I can go into my mind and laugh it off as I'm straight and literally walking with my girlfriend, but it makes me so sad as these people will obviously shout these things at anyone different and how that level of random hate would effect a young LGBTQ+ person must be really damaging.

I don’t really get the “I don’t want trans women in the women’s bathroom with my daughter” argument cuz you really never see anybody’s genitals in a women’s bathroom anyways unless someone is changing their baby’s diaper and even then unless you’re the one changing that baby’s diaper you should be minding your own business
And when I hear this "argument", I'm also thinking: Do you really think a real predator would stop at a sign on the door? Like, "Oh shoot, this a women's bathroom, I'm a man, I can't go in there, too bad, no raping today." There's no gender identity detector blocking men to enter like an uninvited vampire.
And the question wasn't even supposed to be about opinions on trans women in women's bathrooms the question was about the individual's feelings on if they themselves should be allowed to use the bathroom; but they couldn't even frame a narrative in their heads where their decision would be in question and instead immediately jumped on the prospect of control over *other* people being allowed
I would consider the "tomboy" argument to be more of a personality expression rather than a gender expression, liking masculine things and wanting to be seen/respected as a man are two different things
Same it made me cry too since I ask myself that same question, “Will my family love me?” But I can never 100% guarantee that my family will still love me and it always breaks me (I’m still in the closet).
"don't think an 8 year old should know about labels" That means you can't label you're kid as a Christian, as a boy or a girl, as the smart kid or funny kid or art kid, as a "normal" (usually used to say they're a straight, Conservative, neurotypical child) kid even when they're not etc. These are all labels, that traditionalists love to put on their children, don't say you shouldn't put labels on your kid when it's something EVERYONE does
it’s kinda how you make friends, you’re typically gonna make friends similar to you, so not using some labels will make it difficult (i.e. a shy kid might not make a lot of really loud kids)

@@mars_bars3428 I didn't really think about it that way. I'll be honest here, I guess I'm being a little hypocritical because the situation doesn't directly impact me. Maybe I was being a little bit narrow minded. I'm sorry. I'll start to work on looking at it that way.
Sex is the biologial characteristics such as DNA, genitals, and "internal plumbing" that causes doctors to assign people to groups where those traits are found, typically male and female. If someone expresses a mixture of these sex characteristics or an absence of certain characteristics then they are intersex. There are a lot of intersex people who do not know they are intersex if you use the "traditional" definition of sex because there are more chromosonal varieties than the common xy and xx. Gender is the roles, rules, clothes, personalities, that we assign to people based on their sex as well as people's interaction with the world and their bodies. Gender is different in different cultures and gender norms are constantly evolving. Someone can "feel" a certain gender because they have dysphoria (they feel their physical characteristics do not match the way they relate to the world) but the science backs up that trans people often do have the neurological features that are normally specific to cis people of their same gender. If someone doesnt feel comfortable with the way the world relates to them but feels comfortable with the sex characteristics of their body they can also be trans. Its pretty complicated and i'm kinda bad at explaining things but I tried my best with the scientific knowledge that i have researched.

“how many genders are there?” who knows and who cares? gender is a complex, conceptual, social and cultural identity that means different things to different people. it is a social construct. if someone’s gender identity is unfamiliar to you, then do research about it instead of judging them, approaching something you don’t understand with love and curiosity is just as easy as doing so with negativity and hate. i’d argue that there’s 0 genders but there’s also an infinite amount of genders as well, but like i said, who knows and who cares.
It’s a spectrum, for me there’s 4 sides. Agender, some kind of “all” option, masculine, and feminine. Everyone falls somewhere (like I’m genderfluid, closer to the “all” option.) Non-binary falls into a place between masculine and feminine (the two “binary” genders). Demigirl would be between agender and feminine, ectera.

Yes, especially when the two groups are posed against each other like "two equally valid opinions trying to find middle ground" when one side is INCREDIBLY misinformed. It's so frustrating.
The thing is, the segment got the women thinking about their positions. If there had been an attempt to debunk outright, they would have hardened their minds against the information. This way, they have some nagging doubts about their presumptions and may be more open to information over time. This stopped being an argument about theoretical scary transgenders and is now about real people that they've met and talked with. There are some cracks in their assumptions so light can shine in. I think that would be one argument for using the 'Traditional' header. I'd actually argue that having the contrasting view be entirely made up of trans people was more limiting to the conversation - a group of progressive trans/enby/intersex would have been a better panel format
Exactly. Even just within xx and xy, people can be born with different s3x organs. Then we factor in things like x0, xyy, xxy, xxx, xxyy, etc. and there’s more variation
I think the "traditional" part meant people who believe in traditional binary gender roles that they were taught, not that it was supposed to be representative of all cis or trans people, as everyone has a variety of beliefs. That's a problem with all their videos.

Okay, Hi. Multiple scientists have proven that being transgender is scientifically valid. It is not 9th grade biology, it is extremely advanced and commonly hard to understand. Transgender and non-binary people are valid and it has been proven to be scientifically valid by hundreds of gender based studies. Gender is a complex spectrum, it is hard to understand and not everyone will know about every single part of it.

I honestly hate this Jubilee “Middle Ground” type shit. It is premised on the fact that two sides of an issue are equal and both valid, and that’s just not true. No one is expecting Jewish people to sit down and find “middle ground” with Nazis. Treating two sides of an issue as equal with this false sense that there is an obligation to meet the other side in the middle is so damaging and false when it comes to issues of human rights and respecting existence.
It's like trying to compromise on something that clearly has one answer, for example Climate change Should we do something to mitigate its effects? Group 1: yes Group 2: no Middle ground? Let's just save half the planet, e n l i g h t e n e d
I saw one that was round-earthers vs. flat-earthers and while it was not an issue of human rights it was still ridiculous. One side were three high-profile scientists and the other was three randos.
14:46 This is the part that is so irritating to me. To me, you don't fully love your child if you only give them half-acceptance. Saying that you love them, but that you don't agree with who they are isn't love. It's just you be tolerant not loving. It shows that your love has conditions instead of being unconditional. This is the exact same thing that happened to me when I came out pan-ace. They told me they loved me still, but that they couldn't agree with it. That stuff hurts.
You can love a child and not agree with who they are. How do you think the parents of criminals feel? I get what you’re trying to say but you can love somebody and not agree with them or who they are.

@Stripes if calling cisgender people "cis gender" is co-opting them then calling transgender people "trans" is co-opting them. The term "trans" is a latin root that means "across from" or "the other side of" cis just means "on this side of and is the opposite of trans." Also, cis gender hasn't been "traditionally defined in grammar and soxiety" since every society has a different conception of gender, sex, and gender roles.
@Stripes assuming "traditional" is a term that should be assigned to cisgender people presumes a political agenda, but frankly, everyone has an agenda and you insinuating that that's somehow bad is silly. """Traditional""" is a political agenda. Cisgender isn't an "activist" or """political""" term, cisgender has been used by psychologists since the 90's to talk about people who aren't trans. Your claim that "trans" is more "medical/surgical" is flat out incorrect, especially since "trans" has the same roots (not in the grammatical sense that I talked about early) as cis, that of originating from psychology and social science fields. Lastly, your remark about how "cis" isn't commonly used in Indonesia or Saudi Arabia is a useless point. Also calling it """Western""" assumes people of different cultures don't exist in """Western Countries""" or speak the languages of those countries, which could be further from the truth. With that, I'm done with this because I have a life. Now, would you like your genders spicy or regular because the spicy comes with a biscuit and fries.
Another one of the things I hate about the whole “tomboys are encouraged to think they might actually be male” is that not only is it usually transphobic, but it also attempts to invalid butch women who are confident in themselves as women and proud of their presentation. People constantly thought I was a boy and questioned me about it when I was younger and they did it out of ignorance and not acceptance. But my response to that was never to question my gender. Instead, my response was to realize those people were ignorant and to insist that I was a girl. I also came to dislike it when people called me a tomboy because I was not a “boy type of girl,” was just a girl as far as I was concerned. It’s quite the opposite of what transphobic people are suggesting: when you know you’re a girl, you are, and when you know your a boy, you are, and your mind will insist on it.
"your DNA is going to be the same" alright so who's gonna tell her about intersex people, mixed genetics, and not to mention the multitude of scientific studies on transgenderism
DNA literally deteriorates with each replication, not to talk about that your DNA keeps an old strand and a new strand when replicating too, there are errors in the process, that's why people sometimes develop things like cancer or intolerance to lactose, that's also why you age, so "DNA" staying the same is false
@@bonthebunnycat667 also people love to talk about chromosomes, but there's a whole medical list of "gender/sex-identifiers", and surprise surprise many of them can change through surgery, hormones or just how people presents themselves, so it's false to say "your sex is determined by your chromosomes".
@Jordan May You should do more research on intersex people, because there are *several* types of intersex people. Not all of them have 'non-typical' genitals, but instead 'non-typical' chromosomes and genetics. You're lumping all intersex people into one type.

Also, a cisgender man could just walk into the women's restroom and just assault them without makeup or wigs or dresses. I don't feel comfortable in either gendered bathroom. Honestly, you're letting all this fear control you and it's making you sound like a pussy and a dick, dipshit. A simple locking mechanism on the inside of the stall and no space to see in the cracks would really help EVERYONE. Pissing and shitting is a biological reality. Maybe if cis women were taught self defense and cis men were taught how to treat women, this whole argument with trans people wouldn't exist. It's not my problem some cis women don't wanna learn self defense and it's not my problem that some cis men are toxic predators. So, stop blaming trans people for cis people problems.

I've taken numerous anthropology classes including biological anthropology, and the fact that those girls are using chromosomes as an argument is just... or using biology as an argument is just so like... no chromosomes or any DNA is inherently male or female, we as humans just ASSIGNED them to be like that. We put words to it and gave it that name. Also, the "traditional" girls's comments completely dismiss intersex people and those who either have more or less chromosomes and that affects their biological sex. Sex isn’t just chromosomes. Also there are 26 (on average)chromosomes, not 2. Sex characteristics, while they are biologically dependent without medical intervention, on DNA, are not confined to those last 2 chromosomes. What you look like (hair color, skin color, eye color, eye shape, primary sex characteristics, secondary sex characteristics, etc.) isn’t decided on just one set of genes on a single chromosome. Each trait has many different sets of genes on multiple chromosomes. The chromosome argument is bogus, no two ways about it.

Someone please tell these ladies the difference between gender and sex and maybe sprinkle in the existence of intersex as well?

It's like trying to compromise on something that clearly has one answer, for example Climate change
Should we do something to mitigate its effects?

Nothing’s going to change if two sides refuses to budge for each other because there’s something called the “law-making process.” Sad but true.
This!!! This is the comment I was looking for!!!

@@kitten_xbobatea5228 do you prefer your genders spicy or regular?
Your a legend.

@@Nicolae_Mew Of course, personal experience doesn't equal to statistic evidence. It still influences our perception though, as there are people who believe in your example. But I guess they just mean that they are confused on how ALL the transphobic people in this video are women when they personally experienced that men tend to be more homophobic. Like presenting the transphobic side as ALL female is also statistically wrong (and goes against what most people experience), That's like making a video about victims of domestic violence and only choosing men to speak about it. Which would be totally fine if you focused specifically on men as victims. But if you wanna give a general view, it would be a false statistic and also goes against what most people experienced
"Your DNA stays the same from when you are born, to when you die"
Actually...not precisely, either? Your DNA copies itself and makes proteins (RNA), when making new cells, but down the line, there can be mutations or changes to the way the DNA or RNA is coded. That's why you go through puberty, why your hair or body shape completely changes into adulthood, why you gray. Heck, the environment you live in will effect it. Sometimes changes and mutations will happen regardless. But sure, your DNA is EXACTLY the same, your whole life.
also there is a whole field of epigenetics that discusses the effects environmental factors have on your gene expression.
DNA also changes when you replicate it even if there are no errors, semi-conservative model baby, one old strand stays with the new one!

yee haw should have dumped him too and threw him out of your 2nd story window 😍
@@gxrgeousbby I didn’t realize yee haw was their username and thought you just said “yee haw”
big gay lol LMAOOO
same thing just happened to me, I thought you just said big gay lol 💀
I'm AMAB and I thought for 14 years I was just a boy. I had (and still have) long hair and so when I was younger people would call me a girl and I would get annoyed. Now, though, literally in the span of two months, I hate my name, my voice, he/him pronouns, my body so much and want people to call me a girl and use she/her or she/they pronouns. But most of the cases I've heard of trans people they knew or at least showed signs of being trans when they were like less than 10 years old. Also I feel like most people would be questioning their gender for way longer than two months before settling but I feel so suRE AND I CAn't tell whether this is legit. I also most of the time on the internet call myself a girl called Mia because it feels so much better.
@@Ivytheherbert
i feel for you. i also had long hair and got bullied and misunderstanded as a girl. but am still a boy, and so are you, you shouldn't hate something just because someone hated you for it. i wish you well and hope you can feel better.
@@JoeMama-rv9wl i am not a boy
@@sand747 you just sad you were amd that you pretend to be a girl on internet, which means you are in fact a boy
@@JoeMama-rv9wl no I'm a girl
When I was younger (like 8 years ago, when i was like 13) I made a statement about the gender binary which honestly defines how I think about people who are like 'there are only 2 genders' : People who say black and white are the only races are generalizing, or they are misinformed. Similarly, people who believe there are only males and females are generalizing and misinformed.
As an asian agender person, i feel like people disregard my identities as 'not relevant' when they mean everything to me. you can't do that. please, just accept people for who they say they are.
Interesting how that lady talks about how the world will break you and family is important but would still be part of that negativity and not agree with her child's decisions anyway.
You can disagree with their decisions but not be negative all the time it could be a topic where they call you by your preferred name and pronouns and the rest is just a it’s better if we don’t talk about it and love each other the best we can
Not sure if that’s what that lady was saying or not just trying to put a possibility out there🙂
@13:41 is so powerful! When you think you might lose something you love it’s hard to chose yourself
People who say "no labels" are being completely clueless... there will ALWAYS be labels forced on small children. Most labels are highly traditional, even reactionary. Children have the concept of gawd forced upon them at a young age... is that fair? People have concepts of race, clannishness and nationality forced upon them at a young age... is that positive? "No labels" is right up there with "all lives matter" in the bs department.
i got to a christain private school which is mainy consevertive, i cant go into the male resroom cause i dont pass
Why do so many people think we transition on a whim? I fought it every step of the way.
"If you're not gonna support them for being trans or gay DON'T HAVE A KID" PERIOD😭😭
I'm cis and as guilty as alot of people of raising my son according to gender norms but how can you call yourself a parent if you dont spend some time exploring gender with your kid if its bothering them...im learning how to bakugan battle I can learn how to respect his feelings

This isn't trans vs "traditional" gender. This also isn't trans vs cis. This is trans vs transphobic. It is pitting them against eachother on purpose.
Wtf gender is not feeling and it can't be altered and that's a fact no matter how much you guys complain calling science TRanPHObic. Just because you believe you're superman doesn't mean you are that
Science has nothing to do with feminist politics, and stop calling birth errors genders
@@LavaCreeperPeople why did u feel the need to write this? Just curious, do u have nothing better to do? Do u not have a life?
