      Hi
      I’m interested in the lesson for this song but wanted to check it has the detail I’m after. I’m looking at looping this song and was wondering if you go into any detail regarding the looping side of things? I already loop but I’m struggling to map it out across my Rc-600. Thanks

    Ladies and Gentlemen, this is how you sell a course. No lengthy introductions, no "what you'll learn in this course", just playing wonderfully and making people want to play like that.

    Anyone who is thinking of buying a lesson from Jamie, do it!
    I bought slow dancing in a burning room and It is the best thing that has happened to me with my guitar playing in the last 2 years, you learn so much that not only can you play the song you choose, but you can have all of the little tricks inside your guitar playing arsenal.
    This isn’t Jamie with a different account, just a very satisfied customer. Cheers!

    On a serious note, as some others are already posting here. If you like playing guitar and think about buying a lesson. Not only are you going to master the song as Jamie absolutely goes through every part in detail explaining every bit, you’ll just learn a lot in general about the playing style which raised my level of playing significantly. So do yourself a favour and just buy the everything bundle.

  • @SeanJStephan
    @SeanJStephan 4 роки тому +17

    Bought the Everything bundle about a week ago and this comes out! No worries I'm still making my way through Lenny and for anyone thinking of buying these lessons I do highly recommend but be prepared for the work. It really does come down to the feel and tiny details when playing this style of guitar, the notes and chords are seriously just the beginning. Jamie imitates that feel and sound so well to the likes of Srv, Hendrix, and John Mayer he teaches the techniques that these guys had been learning for decades himself included and I've realized myself that I have a long way to go and I'm extremely blessed to have the option of a man of this talent and work ethic available at my fingertips to learn from. In the midst of all this chaos regarding the coronavirus, I have to say I'm blessed to have this kind of music to entertain me. Stay safe out there from a fellow Irishman.
    Side note, still praying on you to do John Mayer - Ain't No Sunshine - Live at the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010

    Love the way that Jamie puts his own take on the songs he releases for his courses rather than just trying to get an exact copy of the original's sound. Fabulous playing, as always, thanks to his way of playing the songs with a eye on capturing a mood rather than just getting the technical aspect correct. For those out there thinking of buying his course bundles I can honestly say they are well worth it. Struggled with learning the guitar for years - not a natural and easily discouraged ! - but enjoying working through his courses.

    A couple friends and I were having dinner at a local Mexican restaurant, and they had a single guitarist playing in the place for tips. A little while into the meal, me and one of my friends look at each other, “is that guy playing ‘Sultans of Swing’?” I ask. “Yep,” my friend replies. There was a pause and he goes, “if he nails the solo, I’m putting a twenty in his case.” I seconded the idea, and a few minutes later the man positively killed it. I can’t say it’s the best twenty dollars I ever spent, but it was certainly worth every penny.

I wanted to replicate the song in my own arrangement, with my own sound, so that quack wasn't something I was really looking for. Don't worry, all these things are fully thought through beforehand! No stone left unturned and all that! ;) But thanks for the thought, as I say in my lesson, some people may much prefer to have that sound in their cover, depending on their setup! I hear so many people in the states fail to mention Dire Straits. When in my opinion Mark Knophler is one of the best guitarist there was; he has style. Sure, other guitarists may pack more notes per second yet not every guitarist has the ability to make every song sound so beautiful. Thanks for this cover and you are a wonderful player with even better taste!

      I just looked at his site on the FAQs cause I had to know now. Looks like no. I'm an intermediate player and will be chipping away at what I got for a while though. If you're on the fence about it, I'd say the deciding factor in the end is how much you're willing to grind. Like I'll spend 30 minutes on one lick, 3 days in a row til I nail it. If you're willing to do that shit when the times come, just buy the everything bundle...it's dope. Plus I emailed the dude and he got right back to me, super cool guy.

    Love it! Jamie Harrison's lessons make up a good portion of my practice time. It's super gratifying to start sounding closer and closer to his covers, and adding new techniques to the tool belt. This guy can play AND teach!
