  • The world loves the Tesla Model 3. It’s the car that has converted more drivers to electric than any other and despite being three years old, is still one of the most in-demand cars in the world. And while it’s not quite the affordable Audi and BMW rival it once was, its incredible efficiency and ease of use (thanks to the Tesla Supercharger network) makes it one of the best electric cars money can buy.
But if your budget doesn’t stretch to a new one, should a used Tesla Model 3 be on your shortlist? With early cars now landing on the used car market it big numbers, the stock of second-hand Model 3s is growing by the day. Join Tomi (a Tesla Model 3 owner) as he reveals everything you need to know about buying and owning a used Tesla Model 3.

Great cars but the dual motor and performance variants are in Group 50 insurance band, which makes these pricy to insure. Not that that mattered for many of these that were originally leased or company cars..

      Let's see..... "Everything"?
Depending on what the criteria is on the day.
      .
For "economy/ price" those wishing to knock them down used to say "more than the Toyota Camry" (yes, I know, fossil) but on total cost of ownership? No.
      .
Then for performance (early on) it used to be "fast" Audi's, BMW M3, etc. They were too slow, so they rolled out the "exotics"...... Tesla crushed them as well. (They didn't go *looking* for the "fodder", but if they insist)
      .
In the EV world? Efficiency? Sorry, Tesla.
      Performance? Same.
Versatility, practicality? The Y takes it....
You want an all round package?
      Battery life? Looking good....

Hi, my wife and I recently owned 2 BMWs, namely a 2020 i3 and a 2017 3 series diesel. So we went out for test drives on the BMW i4 versus a Tesla model 3 on the same day. It was an interesting comparison. So the electric BMW i4 was the usual quality item and astonishingly smooth and fine riding, it drove very much like a high end Jaguar... conversely, the Tesla (Long Range) felt much sharper, more intuitive and remarkably rapid but with a firmer suspension set up, in other words, like a very fast version of a BMW 3 series !
It is subjective, in a few ways the i4 was better but there were more facets in which the Tesla was the better car.
