Im not black. My national and ethnic background is native american or american indian
All mankind is African!😅

If you think Black Americans have no culture, you really don't know Black Americans at all. Sure, our African culture was ripped from us, but we created our own culture, our own dialect, and our own music. And our culture is co-opted not just by other Americans but by the world. One Kenyan in the video used the word "hood" to describe where he is from. That word comes from Black American culture.
Hey I’m snatching my African Culture back though 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You are correct though we have put a spin on the American language. We have our own way of communicating with another 🤗🤗🤗
@@NikkinoonieAnd since culture was snatched from Blk America, you all created your own unique culture. Not all is great, but so much to be proud of. Remember that.
These people that stopped for questions were so beautiful and kind. Didn't have any hang ups, just lovely.

Yes, that dialect that is not proper English.
By culture they mean more about tradition and connection to the ancestors.
The definition of culture outside of the US is different.

As an American African, this is an important video. Too often, we’ve been taught by the West that our African brothers & sisters did not like us; we were given the impression that they didn't want anything to do with us, and vice versa. Now, thanks to brothers like you, Czech, Wode Maya, and others, we know better. BTW, Jackson, you have a great voice for radio and TV. Keep up the good work.
And there are evil people watching and scared of the connection we're trying to make.

Cooper, how about when you go back to USA, you ask in the streets of your locality or a few states about what Black Americans think about Africans. I would love to see that video, cause that is what would seal the entire conversation of both sides.
THIS! I always see videos of people from around the world in different cultures asking their people how do they feel about us… no one ever ask us how we feel about them tho
Jay , Jackson asked about yall visiting Africa. He never posed the question of having a hoard of American migration into their society to Live there.
They would have to rephrase this question though. That way, every African country is represented. We have gotta stop treating Africa like a country.
@@necinewton7672but Africa itself is trying to be a country. That's the entire point of pan africanism. A united states of Africa. Kwame Nkruma's dream.
I can't speak for all of black America. But for me personally as a black American. I have always wanted to know more about my ancestors and my culture from Africa. I have always wanted to visit Africa with my parents, husband, and children and I will one day! That is my goal, because I know in my heart that is what my ancestors would want. For me to see where I actually come from.
Some of the most interesting encounters I’ve had were conversations with folks from Nigeria and Kenya at a former job I had from 2017-2018.
Kenyans in particular have been some of the sweetest and most charming folks! I get genuinely excited when I hear an African accent and find out they’re from Kenya. ❤️ 🇰🇪
And they get excited that an American knows even the basics about their country.
I haven’t been there yet, but it’s definitely on my bucket list. (Not just Nairobi, but all of Kenya, the surrounding areas and national sites)
Love and respect from central Texas. 🍻 ✌️
I watched a video just last month about how a dairy farm in Wisconsin has employed only Kenyans for at least two decades. And unlike other neighboring farms, they haven't even installed security cameras because they trust their staff. They maintain a relationship even when they move on... like a former employee started a trucking company and the farm gave him a contract to deliver dairy products to 100s of restaurants. Sometimes I think that we have so many things wrong in Kenya but apparently we haven't got it all wrong.
Start with Rift Valley Kenya and you won't regret, I promise!
Interesting video! I'm mexican american and I recently went to Mexico for the first time and it was an amazing experience and I loved being able to connect with my roots. I think everybody should go visit their ancestral homelands!
African Americans are one of the most influential ethnic subgroups of the late 20th century onward. Most of the world’s most popular music genres, like rap, hip-hop, r&b, jazz, rock, etc. all originated from AAs in the South.

Yes we're different in personality here and there. But your comment COME OFF LIKE one of those black people who keep finding ways to spread division in the African, African American community. It like some lady who left a comment about the difference between one tribal group and another. And I was like......ok,👍, don't know why that was necessary, but okay. and that's annoying. Im prooud of you Coop. Im a Somali American that have lived in Kenya and the country is near and dear to my heart. Kenya is BAE. I hope all can come and see the goodness Kenya has to offer all
The no culture thing is absolutely hilarious. Our music alone is everywhere around the world we got Korean singing r&b, Japanese doing Rock and roll, we got British people doing country music, we got white people doing soul,Latin Americans blpeople doing jazz, European doing techno and house music , even in Africa Ghana hiplife is hip hop mixed up with their style and in South Africa there is a version of of house music even some of the rappers there rap with a Urban black American accent.we got ppl in the uk doing drill music too lol. Every single style I just mentioned was made in a black American community and exported around the world is like once it leaves America in our community people forget that it comes from us and then claims it for everybody else then says we don't have any culture.
Then they keep saying we adopted to whites and westerners lol. There literally was segregation for over a hundred years in the US we were by ourselves and only interacted with our selfs. More than enough time to develop our own linguistics, food, music, fashion, tradition AKA culture. Yeah our culture developed in America therefore it is American but there's many different types cultures in America.
Edit: cause some ppl think me listing cultural music is not enough.
Culture: the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group.
Arts: urban graffiti, spoken word, music( funk, soul, southern gospel, hip hop, techno, DC gogo, fusion, Rock, house ,jazz, bounce, RnB,blues, boogie woogie, doo wop, And many sub genras)
Customs: passing down language such as aave ,geehee, and American creole.
Passing down the knowledge of how to do Black American hairstyles( waves, fro hawks, Black perms, laying baby hair, finger waves, urban fades, and shags were created and done first by Black Americans no other African group. Block parties
Food: soul food, Louisiana creole food,
Religion: mostly Christian and Muslim. Created our own factions like the NOI( Nation of Islam)
We created our own holiday "Kwanzaa".
Social institutions: could list a bunch but too many so the many well known one The NAACP and Wilberforce university.
Achievement: same as above too much to type so the most well known one sparking and submitting the US civil rights movement that changed the fate of many immigrants, women and Black Americans in us society for decades to come.
Fashion: zoot suits( yea Hispanics, we made them first in NYC) Urban street wear mainly in the hip hop scene now where you can see all groups around the world dress this way.
All facts yo!

I have met several people from Kenya and they were all very nice. One was my nurse at a hospital and she went out the way to help me. She called me mum . I’m old enough to be her mom. Very kind and caring people.
I absolutely love what Ali said! I was lucky to visit Africa some years back and the feeling is like no other. I love my country and our black American story but I also love the sentiment that Africa is home. Where else on the planet will we be welcomed like we are one people? I can’t wait to go back.
I don’t understand the comment about us not having a culture. We’ve been here for 400 years and are an amalgamation of all the different ethnics groups that were transported here from the up and down the Gold Coast of Africa, mixed with Native Americans, and some European ancestry. We’ve created a culture that is completely unique and all our own. But we are not all at confused about the African lineage from which we descend, and pay homage to it often through our food, fashion, music, and art.
It's a polite way of saying there are cultural differences that make the AA behave like USA white people. It is not an insult. Africans generally love AA. We are family
I think it’s because African American culture has become American culture. Im not AA I’m Somali but I know that black Americans have their own culture which I love.

As an African American, I love these interviews. Social media would lead us to believe that native Africans and African Americans don’t like one another. I noticed that Africans that live in European countries are more likely to be anti African American. Conversely, Africans that reside in their native African country seem very open-minded and kind hearted about their feelings towards African Americans.
Thank you i have been saying this for years we are different the ones back home dont care and are very open-minded than the ones abroad when it comes to how we view african americans
As a Nigerian-American who has grown up around African-Americans, I honestly have always felt a kinship with black Americans, although this is a personal thing and can't really speak for others - although I will (lol). I feel my experience in America is that of any other black person, and not something distinct, but again, this is personal.
Regarding your point, I feel that some our people will attempt to create distance in order to insulate themselves from "white supremacy" or "systemic racism", in order to get ahead, while oblivious to the fact that regardless of how they want to present themselves, they are still black.
It's sort of a, "I'm not like every other black person...I'm a Nigerian, Ghanaian etc". From personal experience, I think East African groups (Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians etc) tend to be much more open and receptive to other Africans (black Americans included) and don't harbor the same prejudices as some brothers and sisters from Western African countries. I'm not experienced enough in sociology to explain this, but it's just something I've observed. Nigerians in particular tend to harbor some elitism against all other black groups. Horners also tend to be the same way.
Bantu groups are generally the most welcoming and open...I guess this is why they pretty much spread out from Cameroon and populated the entire continent, including mixing with other groups (Cushites, Nilotes, San etc) - we can save xenophobia in SA for another conversation, but that's more of a geopolitical discussion
Kenyans are some of the most welcoming people you will come across. African-Americans are also very welcoming people, but you got to come correct as they say! They are a group that I have a lot of admiration and respect for, particularly for what they did for the black race during the Civil Rights era which influenced decolonization movements on the continent and vice versa.
Disclaimer: I'm probably making a few generalizations, but I'm just trying my best to answer the question from my personal experience. Africans on the continent are definitely more welcoming than our counterparts abroad. I think a lot of us abroad definitely view AA culture as distinct and something they are not willing to conform to. They'd rather conform to a general "American" culture while retaining their heritage and presenting some form of "blackness" which is not true, but often transient. At the same time, there is a lot of distrust or should I say - mistrust - of Africans from African-Americans as well. I think this is why videos like this are very important - so we can have open dialogue with one another and learn to respect our differences. The creator of this video is doing something that's very important by breaking down barriers. Last point on this topic though is that it is VERY important to understand one another, because despite cultural differences, we are are still part of the same race, and need to work with and support one another in order to grow.
@@guapo2020 thank you for your input. I am particularly curious about the phrase in your third paragraph that mentions why some groups of Africans feel the need to separate themselves from other Africans, when in white environments as an attempt to proclaim, “I am not like the other Africans”. I don’t agree with or necessarily respect it, but I understand it. It’s quite an insightful take on the matter.
I agree that we need more videos, conversations, interviews and dialogs like this to display. We have more in common than we realize.
You don't need permission to come back to your own home. We in Eastern Africa know this. This is where your ancestors came from and you're free to come back home anytime
An American is American no matter what our race is. It's the same for a person in Africa. An African is African. We don't know each other personally. We watch TV & read & learn about each other that way but we don't really know each other. I bet a Black American in Kenya may not stand out like I would as a blonde white woman but as soon as a Black American would speak & interact there it's going to be apparent they're American. My heritage is German. The same thing would happen to me if I went to Germany. I'm American not German. The best part of being American is that our ancestors came here bringing their homeland culture & it's been mixed with the many cultures of the World because America is for everyone & it's become Americanized. Black Americans have their own culture & it's even different here in America depending on geography. There are Black Americans here & African Americans here. They have different ways of living their lives here but yet they're all American & completely different people than Africans. Yeah definitely go & visit & learn where your ancestors came from. What you all will learn is that people are people & we are what we know not who our ancestors were.
Black Americans didn't come to America in the best of circumstances. They didn't even flee bad conditions like most immigrants. For over 200 years, they served as involuntary slaves. And many of them have relatives and acquaintances alive _today_ that didn't have equal rights and were treated collectively as subhuman, by law. So you can understand that America doesn't feel 100% like home for many. It still feels a lot like the homeland of former their slavemasters. It takes time for these things to go away. Meanwhile many are curious about their connection to their original homeland.
Awesome stuff hands down one of the best one in the streets interactions intview / i guess fuel up the plane we are going to Kenya 🇰🇪
✊🏾
I as a Diaspora from the carribean, I see no deference between me and continental brother from Africa, we look alike, we smell alike, we feel alike, WE SOUND ALIKE, WE WALK ALIKE 😂
Smell alike 😂
As a Liberian, we don’t claim the views of the Liberian in this video. Can’t wait to visit Kenya.
he did you guys so dirty and he put his words on all Liberians. what a sucka.
Liberia is beautiful. I'll visit one day.
He should know we hate prejudice in Liberia😂 some of our actual families are AA
I appreciate this video. Thanks bro, solidarity!✊🏾
💯
Thank you so much for this video! Finally together, we are closing the gap and having these conversations to gauge perspective. I’m so grateful to be headed to Africa specifically Nigeria. Kenya and may others are on my list as well ❤
Cooper this was needed for our brothers and sisters in diaspora who do not think Africans love them they should come home , africa is home
Showing love to Kenya for showing love to us. It's very much appreciated!
Try to visit
We are very welcoming...
Hope now you see we kenyans don't speak in deep African accents like Nigerians and south Africans
Thanks for this. It's really needed.
The Liberian spoke the actual stereotype as always believed by AA. This stereotype is mostly held by West Africans. East Africans have nothing but love for AA❤❤❤❤
You’re right we East Africans are very warm and friendly
The average Liberian has probably met more AA than the average Kenyan.
@@wafula.b.musiko1421 Maybe he hate Black Americans because some returned to Liberia during President Jefferson time and that created conflict. We had no culture but the most influential people of color in the world.

This is exactly what I just wrote.
How do you only have 60K subscribers? You are giving that 500K plus energy.

Every kenyans ive met in America are nice. They are friendly and will speak and not touchy
We’re all black so get over it, unite and keep it moving 💯
We are not crayons. We're not "black". We're different ethnicities and clans. Just because we are "black" does not mean we are all the same.
@@elhajjmalikel6266 let the police stop you and you will quickly see that we are the same, we just live in different places.
That's not the point. Let's stop identifying as "black". Do we call Asians yellows or browns? No. So why the hell do we call ourselves black?
@@elhajjmalikel6266But we are Blacks, that's our identity.
Wow loved this post - planning to visit Kenya soon - Thanks soooo much - will follow you now ❤

Definitely need more videos like this‼️ You got my subscription bro
Lucy 😂😂😂😂😂😂 i’m black American too 🤣🤣
I love Kenya! I visited a couple times and just spent a month there. I wanted to see if I could realistically be comfortable there long term and build a life. I hope to live there most of the year and working on making that happen as I type. It’s not perfect as is no where on Earth. Everybody is not friendly…BUT of all my travels in Africa there is no place I’d rather live. I have met some AMAZING people and received mad ❤ from many that I interacted with. No shade against America, but I long to be back in Kenya. Counting my days!✊🏾
Karibu
