    Even though this video was two years ago. I wanted to thank you Sir for showing me and giving me the courage to open up my Vacuum and find a solution of fixing it. From seeing your run through I manage to open up the vacuum even though it was a totally different model the concept was the same... Open the bottom part ... Got to the motor and found the reason why it won't start !!! One of the connector white wires was disconnected. Connect back and test if it powers it did and resemble... Bam thank you again sir for helping me out ☺️😉

    Mine is doing the same thing. Thank you for the Great Video, now I know how to get into the innards to find out if it's the Motor or switch. UA-cam has saved me again. Thanks again. I'm a "show me" guy. You can talk to me all day about how to do it, but I only understand from the Videos.

      Tested the Switch, it was Good, Motor was Bad. Thank you for an Excellent Tutorial. You and UA-cam has never let me down. Keep up the good work. 5 Stars.

    Did it take a lot of practice for you to be able to replace the motors in vacuum cleaners?

    • @hanksgarage_

      On these? Not really. Hoovers, eureka, bissell, other cheaper machines are pretty easy to break down. Dysons on the other hand are a totally different animal. They can be difficult and tedious.

    I have a Bissell helix that probably has a burnt out motor. Cosmetically the rest is in good shape. I don't want to put it in a landfill. What should I do with it?

    What are those tools you used to connect the new motor? I have a Bagged one that has a chopped cord, and I’m wondering how I can change it. Though I honestly haven’t even touched the vacuum yet.

    Nice. I was stumped as to how to get to the motor in my Bissell. I was about to take all the plastics on the back off....

    My bissell still has suction coming out of the hose but the bottom part of the vacuum doesn’t suck anything up and spits out debris. Any ideas?

    • @hanksgarage_

      Check the tube in the brush chamber as well as the hose going from the nozzle to the dirt canister. most likely its clogged.

    I have a clean view .. had it for 4 months and it’s smoking .. I tried replacing the belt but I don’t think that’s my problem.

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  3 роки тому

      Sounds like the motor is shot. If you still have the receipt file a warranty claim on it. They will most likely have you bring it into a service center but they will almost certainly replace it with a brand new machine

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  4 роки тому +1

      Likely its just worn out, that may be plastic vibration noises, something may be cracked or something like that

    • @darthgamer6080
      @darthgamer6080 4 роки тому

      It's just plain worn out and the motor is on its way out. What you're hearing is most likely worn or dry bearings.

    Where's the fan for the Motor

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  3 роки тому +1

      What do you mean? its a bypass motor, dirt does not go through the fan on these like on a kirby or an oreck. If you are talking about the suction fan thats on the other end of the motor opposite of the shaft where the belt goes, there is a big metal cap that goes over it and you can see the fan through the hole.

    Not sure its worth it. I just bought a new Powerforce Helix Turbo directly from Bissell's EBay site for $40 shipped for free right to my door.
