This was a damn good track.then they shut it down and a big trucking company,Creete Carriers, bought it and turned it into a terminal.location was good seeing how it was less than 10 miles from Knoxville,Tn.miss this track
Doug Rucker not enough people involved in small town good ol boy racing anymore to support these tracks and if they can't support themselves we will be thrust into watching iracing events the only upside is that we will get to see a virtual version of some long forgotten great tracks but won't get to experience the real sounds smells and feelings...I took my girlfriend to visit a couple of asphalt tracks this past summer and we plan for some dirt tracks summer 2018...I grew up on dirt spent most of my weekends with my friends family at several go karting dirt tracks around indiana and I wish I had the finances to build something that my family could enjoy being competitive with I have 4 boys and a much smarter tomboy who would end up being the driver...I guess even a cheap kart that runs would accomplish a lot considering what I remember most was waiting on his dad to get home so we could start working on the karts

Yep it is crappy for sure..I never been to atomic just volunteer speedway because that's the county I live in ...if the guys down at volunteer don't get there act together that'll be the next track to go... It's changed owners so many times... I think it just recently shut down again for I think the 3rd or fourth time.. Not sure on that number...I just don't know what's to become of volunteer speedway...🤷

Seems some of you don't understand why these wings are on the cars.... I used to race super late RC cars.. same bodies just tiny version ...We would run these wings... the class below us didn't have the wings We could lap them easily... aerodynamics plays a huge role... also good car set up as wel...l a well set up car be it a full size or a RC car, just adding the wing is a huge difference... I know RC car racing doesn't sound as exciting... But it's pretty darn fun... racing around an oval clay track with basically the same kind of car just 8th scale.. You get the feel of how the cars handle just through the controller...how they push,oversteer...it's a different experience standing up on a stand controlling the car but you still feel the car as if you were in it driving it....👍👍👍

@@FlipperFord13Every "run what ya bring" video I've watched on UA-cam all the comments are people saying "those cars are ugly" or "that's the dumbest thing I've ever seen on a racecar". Is it race day yet?
Why do those cars have bilboards?
Special 1 night event. Paid $10,000 to win I believe.
