I bought this scan tool a couple years ago after watching one of your other videos, but I didn't realize it had this ability to pair with my phone. I just added the app and paired the scanner to my phone for my Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris. It was very easy to do. Only took me a couple minutes. Thanks Scotty
I bought one from Harbor Freight. Used it to diagnose a multiple misfire code on my truck. I started from the smallest cost solution and cleaned the MAF sensor first and then cleared the code. It hasn't come back, and it's running smooth. I had just installed new spark plugs and I knew that wasn't it. It has all kinds of test you can run plus look at live data. I've even used it when car shopping and it helped me avoid a money pit!
@dmac3576 guessed. A diagnosis means you found the problem before cleaning/replacing parts. Would you like a shop to diagnose that way? No, you'd complain.
I bought one of these a few months ago when the 2013 Dodge Journey we inherited (with only 14k miles) popped up with an ABS light. Pointed me to the LF wheel speed sensor. 30 minutes of work, problem solved and the tool already paid for itself.
@@AapVanDieKaap I have several cheaper scan tools that have saved me lots of money. Why pay the dealer to find out what is wrong with our vehicles? Even the cheap scan tools find the easy and common problems. I have had a P0420 catalytic converter error code. I bought a can of Dura Lube Catalytic converter cleaner. I passed my Oct 2023 California smog test with no P0420 error code. I will use it again in 2025. It is a catalyst, like in chemistry a catalyst is not consumed in a reaction by definition. Cleaning the catalytic converter really works, saving me over $2,000.
They last a long time and you never know when a dealer or mechanic is going to try to scam you into "more problems" just to get some $$$. Id say its worth it.
I bought the 3000 series recently when my old $30 OBD2 scanner doesn't cut it anymore. This thing is amazing! It even makes a pdf report of your car status hah!
Bought this last year and bought a new Chevy 1500 3.0 LZO - plugged it into computer and went online and you get free upgrades yearly so it now recognizes my 24 truck . I just downloaded the app thanks to Scotty . I use it for my Porsche , Audi , Hummer, Tundra and Gx470 ! Love it !!
Thanks man. So it’s worth it. Is it easy to use for new comers or people who don’t know much about cars? Is it tool easy to use and understand? Also, will a Mechanic honor the report from the Device? They might still want to charge you for a diagnostic test , how do you get around that if you can’t do the work yourself?
Scotty is funny and honest, now he is putting money in your pocket! Thank you sir!Guess what! Some mechanics take advantage of one possible ignorance, ripping you off as much as they can! I'm not a mechanic but have learned one of two things on my Mercury Mariner Premier. I changed an Ignition Switch but can't reprogram the key myself ( sniff!). Say, I'm learning... not intimidated anymore. So I need that tool ASAP, as I have to a misfirimg situation! Thanks again, Mr Scott!
I bought the 5610 two days ago at a O’Reilly’s automotive store and I told the salesman that the box looked like someone used it as it had dirty finger prints on it I got home it had no manual or paper work I hooked it up to our 2006 Equinox and everything looked good then I found my car listed plus a 2014 Equinox and I don’t have a 2014 so I figured this tester is used so I took it back to the store and they didn’t have another so they ordered one from their bigger store who is their supplier. I actually wanted the 5610 v2 model but this used one was a 5610 so on with the story I put it back in the box and I seen a two page pamphlet crunched up at the bottom of the box. So they ordered the new scanner and I picked it up yesterday in said on the box 5610 same model I thought but when I removed it from the box it was the newer version 5610 v2 with a rubber protective case around the scanner plus this had the protective screen cover that you peel off and it had another cord that plugs in the bottom of the scanner a USB cable it also had a fairly thick manual and a case to put everything in. So far I’am happy now. I wasn’t impressed with O’Reilly’s trying to sell me a used scanner at $309.99 September 2024
So go to a competent shop. This tool will tell you what code us stored, not what is wrong with the car, so I don't see how it's going to help you not get "ripped off."
@sonicelectronic57 Because many shops don't know what they are doing, charge an exhorbinate rate, and replace things that didn't need replacing. I'll just do it myself, since I have better luck getting repaired quicker.
My neighbor just followed me home on the freeway. I have an 03, 4.8 ltr. Silverado, she has a 17 year old 3 cylinder Yaris. Part of the way is a 6% grade uphill, at 75 mph! That little thing can go!
Thank you for the information and lesson. I bought one of these code readers when I worked at a national parts distributor. I have used it many times, but I never thought about, or forgot, using my cell phone to store or analyze the information. I seem to remember something about that, but now I will go out to the garage and play with it for a while.
Love my Innova 5610. It's more than i need for my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. But I also help friends that are looking at buying used cars and scan the OBD for them before they negotiate their price or decide to not purchase the vehicle.

I own a Toyota Matrix 2007 and bought a R 134A refrigerant low side recharger. I am going to top off my low side refrigerant. Better than paying a mechanic $200 or more.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the interface, but they are really really good scan tools and I would recommend one if you’re interested. They give you a lot of bang for the buck.
In the 90s I crawled under a Plymouth in a junk yard. It had torsion bar springs. Back then safety wasn't an issue and when pulling myself under the car the rim that the lower control arm was sitting on shot out from under it and the arm pinned me down. Only a few minutes later, luckily, a passer by saw me and just so happened to be carring one of those folding suicide jacks. As soon as he got me out from under the car he asked....." How did you manage to get under there?" Hind sight is 20/20.
They are the exact same scantool, and they both have the app. Only difference is color. One is sold from autoparts store A, and the other is sold through autoparts store b. Same exact tool. All the same exact functions.
I bought Autel MK908 Pro ll another day , it was $2000 , but it can do tons of things, even injection coding etc … I have 3 cars , Mercedes S class, Porsche and Dodge Challenger… this thing will pay for itself in no time …
So you spent $2000 on another scan tool thingy and you have 3 cars, what all that has to do with this scanner which Scotty is talking about. I have two and a half Lamborghini, four Mercedes z class, 3 Porsche zw class, 5 range rovers, two busses, and a pair of partridges. Beat that.

I need to find an inexpensive scan tool that gives TCM info along with the usual stuff. It would be nice to have a tool that allows me create keys also.
I got one of these, found out it would not do HVAC (Like turning on and off the compressor, and accessing vent doors and mode doors) and I need that and without having it and I called the company to see if I was missing something and tech support told me that this scanner does not have that, so I took it back.
Got one on eBay brand new cheap for my emissions light on my car. It works great especially having the app made pinpointing the problem easy. Thx Scotty!!
You say that often when people have a low battery or change their battery they will need someone with a "fancy scan tool" to clear all the codes. Will this clear all those codes?
Bluedriver was a good deal a few years ago, but it’s not very good value these days. I just got a touchscreen tablet Foxwell full systems bidirectional scanner for 137$ delivered. Its capabilities are well above the bluedriver for similar money, and it’s much more convenient to use. One common example - most modern cars have electronic parking brakes that need to be wound back when replacing pads. You need a bidirectional scanner like the foxwell to talk to the car and tell it to put the EPB in service modes. The bluedriver can’t do that. There are manual workarounds, but they’re a hassle and take up more time.
I hope the garage/mechanics I take my car to do not watch this channel - "Most mechanics charge $200 bucks/hour to work on your car.". They charge half this or less and most importantly do great work.

Garbage, Autel AP200 is the best
@@megamanguymy BlueDriver is not too shabby.
Got one on eBay brand new cheap for my emissions light on my car. It works great especially having the app made pinpointing the problem easy.
Thx Scotty!!
Was it the v2 version?
You say that often when people have a low battery or change their battery they will need someone with a "fancy scan tool" to clear all the codes. Will this clear all those codes?
I’ll keep my BlueDriver. Hundred bucks and it does anything I’ll ever need
Does it read transmission /abs /air bag codes
@@ASJC27which model did u get that does electronic parking brake?
@@ASJC27Well said.
Thank you Scotty
Nice review. Loved the information.
Very good onfo on the scan tool. Thanks!
thanks it looks like a great tool im go to get one
I believe it' an Aultel? Or something like that. $38 also. The only thing is I don't recall where I stored it.
I hope the garage/mechanics I take my car to do not watch this channel - "Most mechanics charge $200 bucks/hour to work on your car.". They charge half this or less and most importantly do great work.
Some do...and 18 month warr on parts and labor
It is a good lesson and knowledges for men.
I have a 2001 Dodge ram van 3500 5.9 engine 46RE transmission what would cause my overdrive to disengage ?
Review the fix tool Scotty
I have the 6030p. Great tool. Easy to use. Already paid for itself in diagnosis.
Thank you!
