They made DE for a wider audience by simplifying it and making it more modern, but original Mafia gives more emotions. Idk, maybe it's because nostalgia kicks in, or I just know the plot, and so DE has nothing new to offer.
@@TeamYellowBS sure needed much change nothig could be done with that its not only DE you know mmodern games after 2007-8 lost its emotions and souls and true memorable fun! like gaming fell into soulless thing,, ah and also the thing is true for music and movies if you notice.. we dont have any memorable or great movies or musics anymore everyhing is so shallow mediocre and emotionless nowdays..
Yet the Witcher 3, RDR2, and TLOU came out a couple years ago, the same as Interstellar, Oppenheimer, and Blade Runner 2049. Just because it wasn't made in 1991 doesn't make it bad.
The first mafia is so damn atmospheric even for now. Love this game, despite hard difficulty sometimes and camera position (fortunately for that we have scripts)
The remake is Mafia 3 engine with the atmosphere of 1930 .. The original has a soul, a real soul and a incredible atmopshere ... a real masterpiece... I still speedrun it in 2024 ..
A 1930's open world game is just what I need, mafia 1 fits the requirements quite well & being history accurate to the mafias influence back then is a added bonus.
I still remember every missions of mafia 1 original. I played it on my ps2 in 2007, easily one of the best game i have ever played. Remake is good, but they change too much in my opinion, like the final speech of Tommy in the original was a masterpiece, in the remake it was like Dominic Toretto is talking.
@@deytonybarra7499 what’s your gamer tag , I finished mafia 2 on ps3 old one , first one too on pc with old graphics, now playing first definitive edition, it looks whole new
The original game was more of a technological show off and an experimental game, thats why it was more complex, advanced and over complicated in many ways. The new remake is a more user and console friendly streamlined experience. Honestly i enjoyed both versions.
@@TeamYellowBS and add to that how difficult it is to get as far away as possible from the police's line of sight in the middle of a chase, given that it's not very clear how far away we are since there's no flashing balloon like in modern games. Something like GTA 4 but invisible I'd say. and let's not forget about being able to find a place to hide without being seen, which is made even more complicated by the fact that all of Lost Heaven is full of cops.

1:17 In real life, technically no longer called an accident, it’s now called incident (since 2004) because an accident implies that no one is to be blamed. In this case, both the NPC driving the streetcar and Tommy are both responsible. A Streetcar named Ouch!
the original one was pure masterpiece! i played/still play many times and still memorable, while the remake only one time i played and that was it !

I wouldn't say everything is shit nowadays; we just have so many options in movies, music, and games that for us nothing stands out

Mafia original on PC is a masterpiece, on PS2 its a nightmare ..
Just started Mafia from Game pass! Feels like a breath of fresh air
I'm glad you liked the game; they made it really cinematic. Mafia now feels like a Disney movie.

The biggest challenge in the original was to control that piece of bread on the wheels

Even music better in first Mafia.
If you shoot a wheel a little longer, it fall of😊 at least in original.
Original Mafia putting to shame DE. Like always.
The Lost Heaven police leave no witnesses.

Mafia 1 was run out of gas ⛽️

Mafia 1 has more than enough gas to blow "Defective Edition" away for another 20 years.
