this is a phenomenal scene to watch in a theater. I saw the re-release in Dolby and I could feel my seat pulsating...it was a very neat effect, almost transcendental.
I realy relate to the film as well, The Na"Vi are a symbolic representation of "Native" peoples not just native Americans they are intended to be a "Universal" example of native peoples. and share a very strong relative connections including a strong respect for there Ancestors, /watch?v=7yekuJTfddU
Chez & Rice! Every time i listen to this clip, my eyes are blured, high pressure on my chest, and goosebumps everywhere! Wow great feelling! thanks for sharing
OMG thanks so much for doing this! I wanted a version of this song that included the chants but didn't have the talk in the beginning! Now I can die happy!
Brianna, the thing that I love most about Avatar, is the powerful tribute to the First Nations peoples of North America! They are the main inspiration for the Navi of Pandora! The Omaticayu Navi remind me of my Mohawk friends, and they are so much like the Iroquoi of my homeland here in eastern Ontario, Canada! Your Apache culture is very powerful still my dear!♥
i love the written words, my native apache language sounds just a tiny bit like that but not so powerful. but it reminds me of it. Apprecciate the Na'vi language :) if it were real lol
@@irondaughter214 It was a made up language but fortunately we can learn it since there is a web I guess that shows everything about Pandora and its culture.
technically... all languages were made up, and multiple people using it turned them into official languages. so... if you want this language to be real, it is. ❤️🥰
I always thought Avatar was based off an african tribe since the similarities in beliefs and fashion is very similar. Even the hair is similar too since most African tribes have braids and other decorations like beads in their braids and possibly dreadlocks. Plus, most afraican tribes rarely wear anything besides very thin clothing and heavy necklaces. ts just my opinion, but I do believe this movie is based off of afraican tribes than native american when you think about it.
Yes. yes I do. I was born in the U.S.. I'm not stupid. But, if (like me) you have the collectors special edition (features 3 discs), on the second or third disc, it talks about the production of the movie, blah,blah,blah... However, there's a (don't remember what it was labeled as) selection titled "A Message From Pandora" (I think thats what it's labeled as. Like I said I don't remember!!!!!) and it talks about James Camerons' inspiration for the movie. He said that he's had the idea for this movie in his head, WAAAAAAY before Titanic. He first got it when he was a kid (teen?) and he had seen a dead bird (pelican?) soaked on oil along the shore of a beach (pretty sure it was a beach. gotta watch the interview again). However, what really made him want to produce the movie, was (HERE'S THE INSPARATION SPARK!!!) when he had visited a tribe in south america, who's home was along a river, and said tribes home was going to be destroyed by flooding due to several dams that the officials (whatever you want to call them) wanted to build along that same river, as well as deforestation, pollution, and so on. These people, (like what the Navi did) were ready to fight to defend their home, anytime. Cameron had helped them out a lot, (him, the chief, and a few others became good friends...) and in a way, Avatar became more than just "every single science fiction book I read as a kid," and more of a message, telling people that we need to protect and cherish our world. Hence the reason for the following scene (when Jake prays to Eywa) (taken from the original script not movie) JAKE I’ve never done this in my life. He squats at the base of the tree. JAKE And I’m probably just talking to a tree right now. But if you’re there -- I need to give you a heads up. He looks up into the tree. The hanging tendrils undulate softly. It’s easy to imagine a presence. JAKE If Grace is there with you -- look in her memories -- she can show you the world we come from. There’s no green there. They killed their Mother, and they’re gonna do the same thing here.
Matthew McMullin ok, now i know where you can be sure that my information is correct (that is if you think I'm lying) look on disc 2 in the collectors edition, and select "A message from pandora" :)
Before you say anything else, get the ultimate collectors edition, (3 discs), watch the clip "A Message From Pandora," which is on DISC 2, in the MAIN MENU, and better yet, watch ALL of the extras. Like I did. Then, if you still think I'm spouting a ton of BS, and saying my facts and evidence is stupid (especially since they're from interviews w/ James Cameron himself), try learning how to back up your evidence with facts --NOT FROM YOUR HEAD-- and make it so that it's believable to other people. Plus where in the world did you learn how to write?!? Just by the way you type alone, seriously tells me (and possibly other youtubers as well) that you seriously struggle in school and have failed at least twice. Till then, make sure that you know what you are talking about okay? One more thing, about this comment of yours : "why do you say that do you know what the settlers did to the Native Americans " 1.) I don't think that even a 5th grader could understand that. 2.) Who and what the f**k gave you the right to make comments about me (or anyone) assuming that I don't even know about MY OWN CULTURE?? Anyway... At least try to prove me wrong. Make it believable and put some effort into it.
thise is the best movie ever made i love Avatar also is it me or does anyone else think that the Na"vi are so like the native americas they way they live their lives and that and their beleifs
@anne123480 They are supposed to be the Native Americans, but they can be seen as any and all oppresed peoples. Them leaving home tree is supposed to be reminescent of the trail of tears. The humans are the Europeans, or the oppresors.
Its relatively easy to learn and surprisingly has even been used as a linking bridge enabling dailog between cultures who don't share common languages surprising even its creator , it has a great common bond recognition expression structure that is also naturally reflective of the root recognition structures of traditinal native languages, its is one of the most advanced constructed languages used in any film, created by linguist Paul Formmer, Na'vi still evolving "today" long after the films release and adding new words and expressions years after the films release , llearnna'vi .org
@anne123480 yeah i thought that i think its ment to be like Dances with wolfs but its a great powerful film and with a strong message running through it
@anne123480 is it i thought it was thise year and theirs a greater chance of the Saiyans ariving on earth in 2012 than the world ending or Sephiroth blowing us up lol
@zzVegito yeah i still love Avatar best movie ever i heard that Avatar 2 is ment to be out thise year in time for xmas so if its true [lol and the world dosent end on the 21 of december]ill be going to see it but its an awsome movies a lot of pepole call it Dances with wolfs in space as the story line is almost identical
I just startet to learn and it's not that hard actually. It's quite logical. But remembering the words and recognizing them quickly in speach obviously takes time and dedication
Am i the only one who gets chills every time i hear them sing?
No😍
This is my meditation literally
No. I see you 😌
Ya arnae a'caraid 😂
Definetly not the only one
It's like the heartbeat of Eywa. Heartbeat of Pandora. Pandora is alive. It's a living thing. Like earth.
nay'tyri's voice sounds so angelic in the short moment she sings

The first time I saw this scene I was almost in tears, haha. It's so intense and beautiful. I'm glad this song is finally on youtube with the chants.
This scene never fails to send shivers down my spine :)
Mo’at: The Great Mother may choose to save all that she is in this (human) body.
Jake: Is that possible?
Mo’at: She must pass through the eye of Eywa and return. But TsyeykSuli, she is very weak.
Jake: Hang on Grace. They’re gonna fix you up.
Na'vi: Srung si poeru, ma Eywa.
English: Eywa, help her.
I love the chant so much! I wish I was part of the Na’vi
I want to be like them so much as one of the people
Me too. Maybe one day... somehow
Goosebump every time I hear that!!

Favorite part of the movie but the saddest scene. Why'd Grace have to die :,(
+K Sage grace actually isn't dead... in avatar 2 she will return in an other body
It is confirmed that Grace Augustine will be back for Avatar 2. She isnt really dead.
K Sage she will be back in avatar 2
More importantly James Horner Died
The saddest part for me was when the Hometree got destroyed.
