    Cannot thank you guys enough. You are half my age but your experience and knowledge yesterday helped me catch my personal best of 17lb 5oz Mirror Carp using this method. I used a Crafty Floater Salty Tuna and in 3 casts I landed 2 fish including my PB. For someone who only started fishing again 4 months ago after a 35 year “break” I’m chuffed. Great channel, great advice and so easy to understand. Thanks again.

    An excellent tutorial. I was able to make my very first chod rig following your video, thank you! I have a question though. I used the naked variant for my mono main line. What do you do when the session is done and you need to transport the rods home. Before I just cut the knot and took all from the main line so I was able to transport the rods home. But now there is the barrel and chod sleeve. If I take it out from the line, I won't be able to put it back. How do you handle this? I don't want to have the chod system only for one-time use.

    Guys, I just stumbled accross your channel, after a video was randomly suggested by UA-cam.
    I do want to thank you for all the videos, everything I watched so far is very well produced, organized, and everything makes sense. I am very engaged in your tutorials. Before I moved to Ireland and started to focus a lot on sea angling, I was an amateur carp and tench angler myself. Your videos re-ignited that forgotten passion I had a long time ago. So thank you for that!
    I am amazed you don't have a lot more subscribers, to be honest. This is not a 50k subs channel, by any means. Here's hopping for you to get to the million soon, you very much deserve it.
    Cheers!

    I was just thinking there how you said it’s mainly fished on a slack line couldn’t you use drop backs and fish it tight or would it not work

    • @fishingtutorials
      @fishingtutorials  4 роки тому

      Hey Logan, the reason for suggesting a semi slack line is to ensure the hook doesn’t get pulled down into the weeds. You can still clip on a bobbin normally and a bite should still be registered as usual, you just don’t want to pull the line really tight or else the hook gets pulled downwards into the weeds :)

    • @isaacjackson9028
      @isaacjackson9028 4 роки тому +2

      First, you need to answer 1 question: is your boyfriend your wife? If yes, problem solved. If no, answer a second question: is it hot? If yes, problem solved. If no, couples therapy is always good, but loud screaming matches about the ethics of wearing your boyfriend's wife's thongs to bed are more fun. Keep all these things in mind, and then address the problem in the way you feel best. Remember, this is a common problem, and there's no need to feel embarrassed.

    I am a salt water fisherman and i do like to feel the experience of carp fishing
    I don't know if this rig working or not but the way you secured rig ring makes me really unsecured
    I also think that you use a large diameter of fishing line and this results in the bait not having a normal movement in the water

    Thank you for your explanation of the chod system, I found your narrative to be very easily understood, I have used standard hair rigs on a swivel allowing movement between 2 tungsten shot for many years and found it to be a different and effective way of catching carp, but your system is much more fish friendly and more importantly precise(that came out wrong fish welfare is paramount and precision is secondary 😓!) I used your account of use on YT.
    It’s been invaluable to myself as I was using a method which was far less savvy on all aspects of safety and success I just wanted to thank BOTH of you as your method feels and is far superior,sorry I have taken this long to express my appreciation (I used method feeders for carp and did not explore the chod system) I was very happy to use feeders as they seemed to suit all my needs as well as the other well known systems,believe it or not I was blissfully using most of the other systems and did not consider using the chod until coming across a situation where it was the “go too” choice!, I didn’t want to leave this unsaid as you and your brother are admirable in the way you approach the sport I wish happiness and success in your endeavours in the future from one more informed angler yours Jammin.

    • @fishingtutorials
      @fishingtutorials  4 роки тому

      If it’s quite windy, then I’ll put my rod tips as low as possible, even a little bit beneath the surface. You don’t need to fish really slack, just enough that the line isn’t pulled up off the bottom. :)

    Thanks for the great tips! I usually fish a variant of this, just a helicopter rig with sinking baits (boiled feedcorn, balls of white bread, a maggot clip, a fake crayfish etc.) in combination with a method lead. However, I have also experienced those hesitant bites when fishing pop-ups, and I think that might be due to them being fished over a ball of bait. Maybe I'll put more distance between the hooklink and the packbait when fishing pop-ups next time :)

    I’m yet to have a fish on a chod everyone says it such a good rig but is it in fact even a good rig compared to the Ronnie rig just seen strange that a Ronnie rig can do the damage and a chod won’t get a run strange old creatures lol

      When you get confident using the chod rig it’s a hard rig to beat in my opinion. the rig is so versatile you can use it in most fishing situations, you can fish it naked or on a leader to suit venue or lake bed and it comes into its own on weedy waters or waters that are highly pressured as you know that you only have to cast once and 99% of the time the rig is fishing, Instead of marking around to find spots and spooking fish. Give them a go 👍

      Peaky Carperz I’ve fished them for years and haven’t even had a bleep on them pre tied and made my own just doesn’t seem to get picked up I’ll keep bashing away with them but not got the confidence I used to have

      Kaylum Harrison that’s strange pal, try going to a runs water and have a go there to see if you get pick ups and to build your confidence back up. A must with choddys though they have to be fished slack lined to allow the bait to sit correctly. 👍

      Peaky Carperz I don’t like fishing runs waters pal not being a fussy get lol just I prefer to fish for older carp park lakes I always fish super slack lines never fish tight lines just strange how I’ve never had a pick up

      Kaylum Harrison I’m the same mate old estate/park lakes and the syndicate but I’ve had some decent fish off the choddys and the ronnies to be honest.

    Really really really good advice. Thanks for explaining so much about choddies. Hardly any shoutouts on your regular channel towards this channel!

    I use a baitscrew (nash) instead of the rigring. Easy as pie!

    Could you fish the chod rig with a bait screw instead of bait floss and rig ring?
    Cheers

    On the naked chod, what is the use to the clip? Why not just tie it straight to your lead?

    • @fishingtutorials
      @fishingtutorials  3 роки тому +1

      So that you can change lead if you need to cast further :)

      @@fishingtutorials ah that makes sense cheers lol.
      Also I've been watching other videos on naked chods and some people are saying to have a extra foot for the lead incase of hookpulls, is that really necessary?
