The only anesthesia I can have is regional and local. I almost died from general anesthesia. Sedation is too risky so I have my surgeries fully awake.
dang, I bet it’s freaky to look and watch the doctors doing surgery on you. Can I ask why general anesthesia doesn’t work for you?
@that_one_poof You can't see what they are doing because they have a sheet in front of you. They do that regardless so your breathing cause a infection. I have Asthma mixed with bronchitis and acid reflux and really bad trio with general anesthesia which can easily cause anaphylaxic shock. Basically your lungs decide not to work when taken off the ventilator. Also I am half ginger which affects general anesthesia as well. I have a ginger beard which is how I know that. Plus even if you can see it is no different than butching a animal. The only thing you can see is the camera inside the cavity. You will not smell it ether because you have oxygen in your nose. If hearing the drill is to scary for you they can give you head phones with music like they do for a MRI. I didn't need it and the surgeon was rocking out to Elvis presley while working on me. Surgeons are exactly like carpenters, especially orthopedic surgeons that mostly deal with joints such as shoulders, elbow, hands, knees, and ankles. So they do lots of drilling and carving. They even use the same exact tools a carpenter does. Drills, screws, and chisels. The only weird thing I felt was the scraping in my knee cavity which felt like nails on a chalk board in there.
Omg. I'm trying to figure out which works for me..I do want to be awake but half sleepy. However, I don't want general.
@@user-hl3fq3vd3b Depends on the anesthesiologist and his skill. Also depends on how you behave with no sedation and just regional. Some people freak out when they lose all control of their lower body or from the neck down. With oxygen in your nose you don't actually smell much of anything. The only thing you may feel is if they are scraping inside the bone but that's about it. It feels like nails on a chalk board but doesn't hurt.
Love this!!!! Thank you
No problem! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
I need to get my wisdom teeth removed but I have high anxiety . I don't want to be conscious or know whats going on what sedation should I get
Hello, thanks for the video. Can you tell me why I kept crying under sedation? I even scared and woke myself up. I wasn’t anxious before surgery or anything of the like. But I felt like my child self all of a sudden.
I am having an anaesthetic without sedation. Is sedation used just to relax you prior to the anaesthetic?
Great explain sir 🎉😊
Hello, I am a tutor at a university of medicine and pharmacy in Vietnam. I found your video quite easy to understand. can i teach my students by translating your videos? I'll credit the full source. Please let’s me know if you agree or not. Thank you so much
Where does Fentanyl with Tylenol IV fit into the various Anesthesia levels?

How Long Can Someone Be under General Without Risk to Health ?
I was under for about 1 hour and was fine. But that was just for an endoscopy. And then not even a month before that I was under for about 1 hour too for getting 4 baby teeth removed. I was not excited for the smell of general anesthesia.
Out of interest if im having a local anesthetic are there any side effects like saying stuff ir is that a different one
Which one is best when removing an external fixator? I have one now and i heard it's painful when removed without any anesthesia. Thank you in advance
