    Oooo Sisu looking sparkly ! Nice ! Chutney, I like, a rare one I used to be able to Get, was made to a Victorian Recipe - Green Tomato and Ginger Chutney. So nice, I keep hoping to come across it again, or, find a recipe to make it when I have a Boat Galley I can Cook in again. I bet there is a recipe online, if there's a selection of Spanish Gazpacho Soup recipes, there must be that Chutney Recipe too. Thanks for the video, you guys keep me going. Martha's Vineyard was the last place I anchored for a good night's sleep, before heading out of USA Territorial Waters, the following morning, heading for Bermuda, though I didn't go ashore, as Id had a very long day betting there from Mattappoisette pre Dawn that morning. A nice day to remember. Oh I think I've settled in my next boat, unless things intervene badly. An Island Packet 439, it ticks almost all the boxes I need, with a standard options Construction, only a few expensive extras - like the Hard Forayhood, and Hard Rear Cockpit Arch for Solar Panels and dinghy Davits, plus a connecting Bimini to connect them for Sun and Rain Protection. Now all I need is the Silver Price to Take iff, and fill the Piggybank. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️✨️

      Thanks for your kind comments as usual Bob, always a good read. I actually also Googled that Gazpacho recipe when we left Cabo Verde, and I still make it on board. Such a nice dish (we love our beans),. You will find a lot of chutney recipes, and I am sure your one will come up. It sounds very interesting, maybe I will Google it myself. I grow chillies on board, so might add that in . . . Sounds like you have a lot going with the new boat. Hope everything falls into place and that she carries you safely across the ponds.

      Suriname is definitely worth a visit, I would stop there if I were you, and then head up through the windward islands of the Carribean. Loads of places to see (bearing in mind our SA Passport), then work your way up through the Bahamas. But the world is your oyster and you will have all the time in the world, so take your time.

    The water outside the harbors is fairly clean there. No reason not to make water. The reason it looks turbid (not clear) is because the bottom is mud and the current is strong.

      Yes, we could start our watermaker. The water around the watermaker intake was fine

    Great to find your channel, and so nice to hear SA accents. And a great SA boat, although I wonder what you make of the Aussie threesome on SV Liger, YT channel Travel Sketch, as well as LabMariner, who have had seemingly endless issues with their Leopard 45s? I transited the Panama canal last year rafted up to a massive Leopard 48 called Wild Tribe and they seemed largely problem-free, albeit an older boat, and easily made it to Fiji like me. Also, are you aware of any other SA UA-camrs? I did put up 7 amateurish videos of my Pacific sailing last year, but completely different style, being solo on an old monohull.

    • @SailingSisu
      @SailingSisu  Рік тому +1

      Hi Hugh, thanks for discovering us! We have met LabMariner, actually buddy boated with him in the Bahamas. As with all new boats (irrespective of brand), there will inevatibly be issues, so yes, we also had our fair share of problems, but Leopard had absolutely no hesitation sorting us out, the after sales service was excellent. All issues were addressed immediately. We are very happy with our choice of boat, she sails like a dream, an absolute tank on the open seas (and we've been in some pretty heavy seas with her), she never failed us. SA UA-camrs I know of is Sailing Lady Africa and there is a new one . . . can't remember the name

    Question for you guys. You’ve spent a fair amount of time now in both the Mediterranean and on the East Coast. Which do you prefer?

    • @SailingSisu
      @SailingSisu  Рік тому +1

      Hey Richard. A very difficult question and we get asked this a lot. It totally depends on what you are looking for. Both have their own uniqueness. The Med is awesome for cobblestone towns, history and general scenery. USA is better sailing conditions. A bit of history, but nothing that can compare with the Med. The islands however (Caribbean, BVI, USVI and of course Bahamas) totally different picture. Awesome sailing and amazing sea life, swimming, snorkeling and diving (which you don't have in the Med - all sealife and corals are dead)
