Hi I just installed those headlights. But between the headlight lens and the grill I have a gap where my fingers can fit through them. Did I do something wrong? Or did screw them on to tight?

Thanks for your video(s). I just picked up my new Gladiator today and coming from a 2018 JLU with the halogen lights, I know how dim they were. I ordered these lights which also arrived today and I installed them right away. Thanks to your video, it took about an hour. Everything functions exactly how it should and wow, are these lights bright. I sure hope they last through our Canadian seasons. Cheers!

Just bought and installed these last weekend, looked great at first. I’m about 4 days in and I’m having severe flickering unless the engine is off or the auto off is enabled.. did you have any issue down the road? If anyone has any thoughts on an aftermarket anti-flicker harness that would be awesome!

Thanks for your vids! Awesome lights too. I have a bone-stock Sport S. Didn’t want the Rubicon b/c I want to build the Sport S with the just the add-ons I want so it’s it’s great to see your build. LOL, was that Radio Shack rosin core 60/40 solder you used? I worked at radioshack back in 2000. I have had the sucker for years. Good stuff. I miss RS. Yes sir, I am building my Sport S. I have Dana 60 axle shafts for our Dana44 with 35 Spline ARB's on order. My plan was to save the cash on the Rubicon and build it bigger and stronger for around 4K dollars. Rubicon is a good start though for those wanting to just drive it.

Ok, I'm back. I just took the Gladiator out for night drive on a dark rural road. The low beams point very low. I would estimate only about 40 to 50ft in front.
    High beams seem very good.
I have the bottom bolt turned back to the point its loose while the top 2 bolts are are tightened down all the way.
Did you have a similar problem?

Your video was extremely helpful. I just happened to have purchased the exact same headlights. Did you have to adjust yours after installation? I tightened my until they bottomed out but have yet to drive with them to see if they blinded other drivers.

    • @scubicon1965

I just installed the same lights on my Gladiator Rubi. The high beams seem very good but the low beams are pointing way too low and not reaching out far enough for safety.
I have tried adjusting the spring bolts. The top 2 are tightened al the way and the bottom is turned back to the point were it's now loose. I can't get these aligned high/far enough.

    • @c130aviator

You may have to take the grill off and adjust them. If you are raked or not level it seems they are more difficult to level. Mine are good now.

@@scubicon1965 did you ever get it sorted? I had the same issue. I ended up putting 5 small washers on the bottom bolts of mine, and I think that has it sorted. I havent driven with it yet.

@@rldiscgolf I think adding washers might have worked for the low beam but then maybe the high beam would be too high. Wait a sec... why can't you wire the halo's with the existing DRL wiring in the fender flares? That way you can turn on/off DRL's if need be. The way you wired them doesn't give you the ability to turn them off on your screen. ?? Perhaps it's different on a Sport but in my Rubicon, I have the touchscreen option of running without DRL's on which is nice in certain situations.

  • @chuckw6099

Informative videos but you are soldering incorrectly. You are supposed to use the end of the soldering iron's tip to solder. The tip should be clean and have solder on the end of it if it (tinned). The tip is held parallel to the wires to get the maximum heat transfer and then apply the solder to the wire. If the heat is correct, the solder then flows onto and in the wire strands. Since you went through the trouble of soldering, you should have also use heat shrink tubing. Put that over the wires before soldering and then heat up after soldering. I used to do car audio for Circuit City when they soldered everything where ever possible instead of using crimp connectors. They used tape instead of heat shrink to keep down costs. They did however use 3M tape which is very good. Being in Arizona with the high temps, I always put a zip tie around the taped wires because sometimes the tape will move or work itself loose. Me personally, I use crimp connectors and was also a MECP certified installer. MECP preferred crimp connections over soldering because it provided and mechanical and electrical connection between wires instead of just an electrical connection. Their words according to their manuals, not mine. Not sure if they had changed their standards. Keep up the good work.
I have the LED bulbs in my Gladiator which you have to aim and "rotate" to get the best light pattern with the stock housings. Surprisingly, they do light up pretty good and I am very picky on where the light shines. I have the GE Nighhawk branded version of the TruckLite LEDs in my 2010 Wrangler and they do a great job. The antiflicker harness is nothing more than a capacitor inline of the positive wires. I used capacitors only on the low beams and not the high beams. The low beams are usually when you notice flickering due to the PWM power of the Jeeps. All of the newer LED headlights should have the antiflicker built in.
