I’m thinking of buying this game. I played FIFA for years, but I’m not enjoying the gameplay anymore. What I did enjoy was career mode and scouting talents and youth players. The FM series goes way deeper in that stuff, but it always seemed very difficult, however guides like these could help very much.
It’s actually 1$ on Xbox gamepass. If you get the game pass you can get access to 100+ games pretty cool. I highly recommend it. I think that’s with a trial and it switches to 15$ a month. Still worth it IMO.
Honestly, I played a little bit of the mobile version last year, and when I opened FM21 for the first time I was lost. I figured things out eventually just wish I found this video earlier.
For every game my advise is to load the 5 big european leagues (England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France) and Argentina and Brasil. That way you get the normal amount of youth players worldwide.
@@leopoldstotch7711 Any half decent laptop should be able to run that fairly smoothly, the star rating thing isn’t that accurate I load about 200k database and it’s on half a star yet still loads fairly quick and my laptop is nothing special
You managed to summarise it in a pretty good way! Last FM i played was FM15. Downloaded the demo for FM 21 a while ago just to get the feeling back again. I'll probably get FM21 as a christmas present for myself. Cheers!
Would love to see some more videos on this. I started play FM20 with barely any knowledge on football and it was such a struggle. I'd love to see a video on who to sell in your squad to help build areas where your weak. Obviously this is all up to you and how much time you have to spare to make more of these videos, but I'd love it if you could help in that area. Cheers.
The team report - squad depth page is a great place to start, once you have set up your basic tactic. Make sure to select a coach with the best judging current ability (from the drop down at the top of the screen) and they will present you with the formation, along with their star ratings for everyone in your squad for each position they can play. The assistant report page within the team report menu also gives you a list of strengths and weaknesses that are useful for spotting areas to improve.
I've subbed because I desperately need help to play this game. I'm about to be sacked as Everton manager in my first season. Gutted. As a complete beginner I am overwhelmed with it. I can't buy a win. Similar to the real team judging by yesterday's result.
I started playing Championship Manager 1992 and played right through until FM2014 when I stopped. Now 6 years later I pick up FM21 and WOW! I feel like a newbie 😂. So it's time to get back in the thick of it and there's no time like the present.
Give it another couple of years and managers will be setting the prices for pies and bovril, thats what it seems like to me. I'm playing FM21 after a break of 7yrs and I must admit the older ones gave me more satisfaction to play.

Not sure if I should get this game, the touch or the mobile version. Loved the old school championship manager games years ago, easy to get in to. But these new versions seem too complicated.
I understand how to manage the team, but I cannot win games. I am managing Tottenham, and games I'm favored in seem impossible to win no matter what. I have been attempting to maximize my players abilities and positioning, and my team is fairly familiar with the tactical setup, yet I fall to Crystal Palace 4-0 without ever having a chance. I often have more possession and have a higher xG than my opponent; do you have any tips on making the final steps and winning games I should win?

Download the kits you want etc , unzip them , I unzip them to desktop for ease . Navigate to \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\graphics Now you probably won't have a graphics folder so just make a new folder and call it graphics , open up your empty graphics folder and create a new folder for each download you have so one for faces called faces one for kits called kits etc etc and just drop your extracted files on your desktop into the correct folder. Now load up fm at the star menu u will see preferences hit that , hit reload skin upon cache clear ( it's under interface preferences) then hit clear cache and that's you .

Depends. I dunno how useful it is in terms of whether it will affect anything in games directly, but using certain gestures when having a certain relationship with your players it is possible it might affect them more in the positives. For example if your players respect you, and when you praise them for their training performance that week while using the handshake gesture for example, it might motivate them more. Whether that affects anything directly in a game or not, I dunno, but for the general RP of the game and the fun of playing with stats, I think it's an okay addition imo.
Love fm been playing it since championship manager 98 then 01/02 then fm 05 07 lost love for it after 07 till 2012 but after 2012 felt like it had lost all the fun out of it till now love the look of fm 2021 so I'm of to get me a new pc and can't wait till the end of the month so I can play it and enjoy it once again great videos m8 keep up the good work 👍
If for example, I dont select La Liga as one of my game leagues. Am I still able to buy and sell players to and from there? Or can I only sign players from the leagues I've selected in the game load up?
@@alanc6467 You can sign players from leagues that are not loaded, yes. Selecting database size will determine how many players outside your selected leagues to load into the game, that way the major players are always there.
As others have said here, if you try and sign a big name from a major league, they will likely be in the game even if you haven't loaded the league (a Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe type player). If you know of a 17 year old youth player from a smaller league or a smaller team and want to sign them, it will depend on the leagues loaded and the database size as to whether they show up. You will quickly learn the optimum database size based on your computer capability and the amount of players and leagues it can handle.
hard game for me to crack! been trying for years but i don't follow the sport so have no inside knowledge and don't follow all the rules! best pure management game out there though so i persist! your videos are the best i've found so far for someone like myself!

I used to Play FM many years ago from CM 93 to 2008 FM (this was my Fav Version). Due to work I ended up packing it up until I retired. I bought 2020 before giving it up around halfway in the first season, just could not get into it. Bought 21 version and struggled with that. Decided to reload it up again. Saw this video and went through it step by step. I download a few skins for it and pick the one I like and it makes the game so much more interesting to look at. So hopefully I will be able to learn it better now. I also prefer to start from the lower leagues and work my up.

I just picked this up last night on Steam for $25 USD. Figured I’d give it a whirl since I’ve only ever played player careers in NBA 2K games and FIFA. Always been interested in GM games, but afraid to take the plunge.

It depends on the number of players loaded and on the player you want to sign - Ronaldo and Lukaku will likely be on even the smallest player size database, but younger players or players from smaller teams or lower leagues probably won't. You can physically bid for any player in the database loaded, but the players who appear will depend on how many players you instruct the game to load. Hope this makes sense!
The game costs 50 pounds and I'm a bit worried to commit to it and then have it not click for me. Seems like a steep learning curve to enjoy this. Also whats up with the team logos? Are they not allowed to use the clubs real ones?

I have played about 15 matches with Ajax. This is a summary of whats going on: Everyone is injured Tactics are absolutely not working Financials are bad 4th in champions league (drew: Barca, liverpool and Gladbach) No one wanted to transfer to my club unless I paid 100 mil for someone worth 3 mil
Huge turnoff that it can't sim all the leagues without you selecting them and ruining pc performance. That's pretty weird for a game that is 90% text-based. Thanks for making the video I never knew that was a thing.
You can sum those league’s. They just go on in the background if you don’t chose them. And you will have less options for buying players from them. But if your in European competitions they will still be there
This is how I feel too, I now play We are football with the FM Zocker database patch for real players , venues etc. It's a homage to the older management games which were alot more streamlined. Cheers

Having "do not add key staff" ticked means you wont get an assistant manager etc, you need to untick it so it adds key staff.

I’ve found that connecting a spare mouse to the USB Port is almost the actual PC version

I love the OOTP series for baseball and hockey but yeah... Football manager definitely is intimidating.

Huge turnoff that it can't sim all the leagues without you selecting them and ruining pc performance. That's pretty weird for a game that is 90% text-based. Thanks for making the video I never knew that was a thing.
You can sum those league’s. They just go on in the background if you don’t chose them. And you will have less options for buying players from them. But if your in European competitions they will still be there
ive been playing since early championship manager and have no clue half the time

bought it, tried it, asked for a refund. too much micro managment for my taste
This is how I feel too, I now play We are football with the FM Zocker database patch for real players , venues etc. It's a homage to the older management games which were alot more streamlined. Cheers
I feel the same, but you can delegate most stuff to your assistant managers, but you have to manually do this
Game speeds are:
5 stars, fantastic, you could add more stuff for more depth.
4.5 stars, great, this is where it's at!
4 stars, literally unplayable.
