Dad's Old Boat get a New Life
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- In 2007 my dad bought this boat. He used it for years before it sat rotting away in his yard for the past 5 years. So we decided it was time to give it a new life!
A huge mission but now its a fish catching weapon!
Watch the last 5 mins to see the boat on the water and the BIG RACE with BEECHEY!

Cheers guys! psyched to catch some fish out of this boat ASAP!
Brooksy 🤙
Well done Brooksy, as an all-in-one video instead of the old style episodes 1, 2, etc.
When you build (or rebuild) a boat you start realising why they are expensive to buy. Love seeing old tinnys gettin rebirthed 👌👌
pretty cool aye. will keep this thing forever now
Broosky, Your a good man. Pimping out your Dads boat for him, very honorable. God bless
Noticed the tape over the Yamaha logo in the end of the vid. They obviously knocked back the sponno request ey? 😅
HAHAHA
Thanks for this mate! It’s exactly what I need doing to my boat, and I have a Brooker too! I’ll be giving Owen a call tomorrow 🤙🏻
That's great brother hooking dad up is always great God bless you and your family and God bless all of you who are struggling and homeless because of covid-19
This is a man that loves his Dad.
Can't wait to watch him catch a big slab on video.
Well done, Brooksy. I hope my twin 4 year old boys love fishing as much as I do.
You're making me cry, Brooksy. I'm leaking! Can't wait to see you and your Dad catching Barramundi together! You're a good Man and an incredible Soul! I don't have the words, Mate... Just bloody AWESOME! Ya LEGEND!
You'll have to do another little bonus with the extra footage of the next runs without "flooding" to keep poor old Beechy from cracking the sads. Plus a full walk through of all the bells and whistles once they're in and done.
Also hope you're staying out of trouble with the big wet right now.
This is bloody awesome mate, massive amount of respect for spreading the love amongst the local small business as well! Busted your balls in the last video "Thought you had become soft mate being on boats all day..." instead of being on the rocks but when it's something as sentimental as this and seeing your mans reaction was priceless! Take it easy Legend 👌👌 Yeww
Hahaha cheers mate! Be good to get the old boy onto a couple of fish
From that starting point to that finish that's a sweet improvement/ upgrade. Look forward to seeing the trip with your old man if you show it.
Can see how much ya love ya dad ❤ legend brooksy
Awesome breathing new life into you dads old boat...catchem up and be safe bro.
Jealous.
Glad you did it all in one video and didn’t make us wait to see the final product 👍
This video deserves a ❤️ Absolutely Frothin that you done up your old boys boat mate can’t wait to tackle another one 👌
Thinking about doing a couple more boat rebuilds matw.
@@JonnyBrooksFishing I fitted out a 3.5m with casting deck and some storage nothing flash definitely looking for another one 👌 It was awesome to see you giving a hand and Owen talking about the ideas etc Top Video
I wish some-one would bring this hull back into production. I had one many years ago and loved it. Thanks for bringing back the memories mate.
Thanks for the content, this is also interesting like the fishing. Your dad is going to be blown away.
Great video loved the rebuild. As soon as you videoed the builders shop I knew he was the real deal by just seeing the quality of his tools.
These are great vids Brooksy, the old dunga boats (as long as there's no bad corrosion) are massively suited to this kinda transformation. You're definitely on a winner here & its super nice to do this for your old man. Hope he gets the chance to catch a cuppla mad barra yewww 🎣🤙✌
So cool doing that for your dad. Good on ya mate. Tight lines on those Barras.
Great job on the old man's tinnie Brook's he should be proud and happy mate.
I 🙏 pray for your Dad, for a long healthy life, so you and him can enjoy your kind deed and share lots of great fishing adventures together.
Cheers mate!
Amen to that Prayer!
Way to go!!! Hooked the old man up!!! You rock!!! Can't wait to see the first fishing trip!!!
Sik project. You da man Brooksy, keep at it. Thanks for sharing.
Good job mate, paint the boat’s exterior, Dad will love it inside and out. Cheers for the effort on the channel, from Perth WA
Stoked for you, hope you and your ol boy enjoy it. Awesome to see a content creator actually get on the tools and help out good on ya mate
Cheers mate, i did bugger all of the important bits so i didnt ruin it 😂 was good fun though
Parkway Drive FTW 24:38
Thanks for the build vid Brooksy!
What a great video! Good luck catching the giants. That thing moves!
Immense seeing this one go all the way through, hats off to the lot of you.
Made the old man proud I'm sure, loved the way he got in and parked his arse on the seat :)
Good on ya Brooksy ;)
Broooooksy! Great send mate! I’ll be sure to look up Owen shortly!
He’s a good laugh and bloody good at his job mate
The lithiums are a game changer. I have a 24v 100ah setup as well and go multiple days without charging. Game changer. Good stuff.
This might be the most aussie video I've ever seen. Beautiful results and a boat I'd love to have. Greetings from Sweden!
Great stuff brooksy, well done mate, memories to be made👍👍
That is a nice boat. It’s given me a few ideas too now.
Beautiful man. Always wanted a boat and you are kind of making one. It doesn’t get better than that mate! Fully custom! I wish I could even afford a boat.
Love it. So giddy to do my own boat now.
Epic vid mate loved seeing the build right through in one go. Keen to see some metery’s hit the deck
nice job brooksy on ur dads boat. hope ur dad gets that meter barra very soon. interesting to c wat donk u put on it.
I built my custom 16' jetski jon boat with a very similar carpet decking system and all I gotta say is you gotta get that man a pair of knee pads!
With your high speed porposing (bouncing) you can weld two tiny 2" trim tabs made outa 1" angle to cure that bounce. I show that in one of my videos. It doesnt take much!
This will be the best project beast
Gotta get Owen back down to Old Bar to help me with my new bass boat project...love the looks of that new Thermolite material...Great project mate I reckon your dad would be proud of your efforts mate...
Well done lads. Wish I could have done that to my dad's old carabian boat. Impressive work fellas. 🚤🚤
My old man used to build Brooker boats back in the day. Always nice to see one.
That’s rad! Hope he put all the goodness into this one
Sick boat . You guys did a boss job man . Can't wait to see what you catch in it 🍻
Hell yeah brother looks so bloody good congrats on the build 🤘
awesome video series idea i reckon make like 3 quaters casting deck but leave it as a tilla stear
What a bloke anutha happy dad family fun coming
Finallyyyy 🤯🤯 been waiting for this vid bro. Super stoked for ya
You got the bounce out...awesome. Great Lil boat now.
Watching the plastic get peeled off of the Liarbird was a sexual experience....
Great project, can’t wait to see the process.
Maaaaad video brooksy love it! Boat looks awesome
Sick little boat!!! Time to rattle some tins in the rattling little tin🍺🎣
You’re a good son brooksy, I got frothin when my young bloke bought me some new squid jigs, good on ya!!!
Hopefully can put old ronny onto some good fish
@@JonnyBrooksFishing I have no doubt you will
do love the banter thrown at Arnie hahaha
CHEERS to you & your dad nice resto MATE
Hey brooksy I got that boat and been up for days coming up with ideas for it 😉
Awesome video brooksy
awesome resto job
Great video, all the best to you and your dad.
Cheers matw
All you need is a side console, 60hp 4 stroke with buoyancy pods each side of the transom and a 60 liter fuel tank under the floor and it would be a perfect allrounder
On ya Brooksy - resto looking sick 👌
Looks the goods Brooksy. Bet you’re keen to bring the whip north.
Bloody oath
Cool video. Humminbird is the best for estuaries etc. Just beware once you put a heavy fourstroke on it and the minn kota etc. You might start to see the structural/design limits of the hull. I have an F60 on a 420 Renegade, the fuel economy is great but top speed is nothing compared to a 60/70hp yamaha two stroke. Obviously the fourstrokes are heavy...
A Suzuki DF40 is a beast 900cc but a second hand yamaha F40 would be pretty good and lighter but only 750cc. Plenty of people sell the F40s off Renegades because they lack the torque to push the wide beam hull when loaded up. Although etecs are discontinued 2stroke performance/power to weight is way better then fourstroke in the smaller outboard genre.
Won't be long and sub 115hp outboards will be replaced by electric outboards.
That is f@$king awesome what a beast ready to slay the fish in that 1
a nice custom wrap on the outside will b smick
REALLY !!!
Are You Kidding ME !!!
What a REFIT !!!!
TOTALLY PIMPED !!!!!
I reckon your old man was Frothin' on the Inside !!!
Poor BEECHEY ..... Flooded ....Flooded ...Flooded ....... GOLD !!!
This tinny look long as I won the 4.4 aqua master from bergy fishing addiction and have been thinking later on just add big cast deck. I think as it's your dad's boat n doin work go all out spend as much as possible do everything right and get a sick wrap on it
Brooksy if your going to the trouble and expense of doing it I wound get it painted as well I reckon your Dad would be stoked
What a great video!
Omp yeah boys. Got in the master. Niiice
He’s bloody good!
@@JonnyBrooksFishing the best bro
Brooksy with the sander? Are you serious? Hahahahaha this is awesome and keepin dads tinny above water for the foreseeable future is golden🙏Yeah this was fun👍🚤🤙🤙Brooksy!!! Shoutout to Owen, he knows his business for sure❤ Wow i never thought it would be complete👍#yeeman
Hahahahaha had no idea what i was doing mate! Good fun but!
@@JonnyBrooksFishing nice job😉Surprise ending was epic🙏
Good stuff 🤙🏽
Put a seat in up the front for the old man. A proper seat with arm rests that swivels on a post inserted into the floor. There are plenty on the market. You'll need to cut a hole in the dance floor but you won't regret it. Don't put in a leaning post, they're comfortable about 10 minutes then a literal pain in the arse.
Yeah mate up the mighty YEEMAN!!!⚓🚤🎣
The higher the pin the faster the boat will go. 😎👌
No rod locker? Much more satisfying doing a rebirth
That's so sickkkk! Defo pulled away 😅👌
Nice little Jon boat.
Hey Brooksy, nice job on the tinny.
Do you know what product you used for the flooring? Cheers?
28:25 holy 😱 Brooksy watch for your Head 😂
Cool video mate, brooksy side channel. Brooksy's boat builds?
Have thought about it
Id run deck armour instead of carpet easier to clean still cool under food and pretty soft and you can have it done in cool colours and patterns to match your boat check it out good gear
But ya have to replace it every 2 months. Definitely looks nice new and super comfy but just gets hammered when fishing a lot.
@@JonnyBrooksFishing no you don't my old boat had it on for 4 years and was fine
How often do ya fish?
@@JonnyBrooksFishing when I owned it twice a week and it sat out side uncovered its whole like
how is the wrap holding up? dope build mate
Have you thought about sacrificial anodes? that's always interested me
Wow good jobs friends 🙏🏻👍
Get rid of the stingray fins for a perma trim and it will change the way it plains a heap man
Hey mate I am 14 years old and I was wondering where the omp joint is at cos I have a tinny and me and my dad took everything out and I was a casting deck and shit so hope u see this but if so please get back to me
Great job, Why doesn’t anybody use seats with arm rests in boats ?
Thought we wher going to see a boat build not lapse to the finish after the work was done
Sub’ed well done top job!!
YEEMAN....nice bro... awesome
Great!!!
Yeeeeeman👍🏼👍🏼SO SICK🤙🏼🤙🏼
New graphics on the outboard cowling
What's the displacement? What does it weigh? Are you calculating for basic or level floatation? What volume of floatation have you used?
No you shouldn't be doing this in your backyard if you can't answer these basic questions. Don't encourage others to do the same if you have no idea about boat design or naval architecture.
There are other channels that do it, but they explain the risk is on them, please don't recommend others that this is done "right", cause it isn't.
Good luck to you, stay safe
Oh god. It’s a tinny.
Let me know how far yo north yous come for your trip I have a few spots of my own im from the burdiken and would love to show you and your old boy around if yous are interested
What foam did they use for under the deck
Also want to know this. Sick rebuild, am partway thru mine.
Hi Andre that was EPA Foam we used
@@smashabass thanks mate
Looks like Yamaha got the Shimano electrical tape treatment lol
Hey brooksy any chance I can have some more details about the flooring you guys used in this vid, where to buy it and what thickness and rough cost of the flooring is?
Hey mate, give Owen a msg or a call. He will be able to sort it all out for u
@@JonnyBrooksFishing cheers heaps brooksy will shoot him a message today boat looked wicked by the way mate bloody ripper tinny 👌🏽
