    What's the side effect of removing that COF? Are they redundant? I think I have exactly that problem on my tv which I replaced the backlights in.

    Did you try thermal before you pulled the chip? Possibly an easy diagnostic.

    Allen, if the TV hasn't any cofs but cogs what can be done to fix it?

      I know that and that's why I was wondering if there is a workaround for a shorted cog.
