Another nice repair Allen, Although you had me going with the TV size as at the beginning you put the size up as UE40H6200 but said it was a 42” LOL Keep up the great work mate. Regards, Brian 👍👏🏴👍👏🏴
Look at Dubai LEDs. Big Clive did a video on them, they last and he has follow up videos to convert your own lamps to have a long life. That's domestic lighting rather than backlights, but the principle is the same.
...Thanks for the video... ...Re lines on the screen...I have found that a few sets will come good if you put some packing under bezel that helps press the bonded flexible ribbon against the glass screen... ...For 4 years I have been using an LG with paper folded down to 1/2 postage stamp size tucked into a pressure sensitive spot I found by gentle pressing down on the lower edge of the screen. ...Lines come back when paper removed...Didn't have to open TV up to "fix"....YMMV
Hi Al. Another great video. Those TVs were well built apart from the LEDs. The kitty obviously likes the warmth given off by the plasma. Brill, keep the vids coming 👍
I've got the 6400 version of this TV and the backlights went blue within weeks of having it. But a DIY light change and it's back to how it was when I had it.
I only found your videos *after* replacing the backlights in my 8 year old dumb TV (it has dementia, it was sold as smart but sw support is nil and its like watching HAL9000 shutting down) Samsung UE48J5600 I must admit I broke a few of the old strip backlight contacts until I realised how to release them properly. I know now, but it might be a good video to show stuff like that? Not sure what to add to that, but a short video never hurt anyone
Dear Sir, I do have some questions: 1. What do you think could be the reason for Vertical Banding, Grey Uniformity Issues, and Dirty Screen Effect (DSE) in modern TV's Panels? 2. From Longevity point of view, are Direct-Lit Full Array LED TV's better (Like Bravia 3, in which constant Backlight is ON) or the Mini-LED Local-Dimming ones (like Bravia 7, 9 in which hundreds or thousandsof LED's turn ON and OF and show varying degrees of Brightness to produce best Contracts, darkest Blacks and Brightest Whites, etc..).? Which among them will be the TV with longer life ?? 3. I'm assuming keeping Brightness low shall increase the life of the TV. Waiting for your reply. Possibly if you could make a video, it'd be great! Thanks.
There are all sorts of myths. Any screen cleaner is ok. IPA and water is best. The only damage is if you drip any excess liquid down to the circuit boards cofs so always use a liberal amount on one area rather than soaking the whole screen at once.

"leds last 20+ years" they said. Or at least until the manufacturers designed obselecence into them.

@@georgeprout42 You aren't converting TV Leds to Dubai lamps.

Hi Allen
Just started watching you videos
Please could recommend where I could buy a new complete set of backlights for my Samsung Tv
Thanks
Will
EBay or AliExpress are the cheapest.
What do you recommend for cleaning the screen, I just use glass cleaner but heard it can damage the screen?

You don't buy HDMI leads from somewhere like Richer Sounds. Amazon sells top quality 2.0 and 2.1 HDMI cables for less than a tenner.
Oh no!
My TV blue up!
How many kg of dust from your ceiling did you incorporate?
I recently saw a video where LED street lights were having the same blue problem .. YAG phosphors degradation.
Nice one
Samsung seems like it's always backlights that's the problem iam having..
Would doubling or tripling the strips improve brightness and contrast?
@@jimbotron70 Yes but you would need to modify the power supply
I have only had good experiences with Richer Sounds, but to be fair I haven't used them for about 5 years, so...
@@chrismoule7242 they are good.
I don't work on any Samsung's now. all a pain and cheaply built.
