Teen who dreamed of being a soldier holds back emotion as proud dad patches him 🇺🇸

- A teenager who always dreamed of being a soldier has gone viral after his father shared a video of his son holding back tears of pride during his patching ceremony. Jordan Polito asked his dad Kenneth to do the honor of patching him during his graduation from training to become a soldier in the United States Army. In the wholesome footage, Kenneth can be seen walking towards his son as he stands to attention with his fellow graduates. Then, as Kenneth places the patch on his son's arm, Jordan can be seen visibly moved, choking up and fighting back tears as his father places the patch on his arm. The moment took place on September 2, after Jordan completed his basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia. According to Kenneth, the family thought Jordan might pursue a baseball scholarship because of his talents in the sport, but Jordan had always dreamed of enlisting into the U.S. Army.

Yeah become another rapist psycho in another foreign war that's what happened to PFC #lavenaJohnson the military said it was suicide yeah two shots in the back of my head and a contractor's tent she had only been in Iraq for 2 weeks of course they still can't explain why that she cut out her vagina import bleach all over the genital area man that's a hell of a way to commit suicide no the bleach was to come up any trace of sperm. YEAH I FORGOT THE LAST PART SHE WAS SET ON FIRE IN A F****** CLOTH TENT THAT BELONGED TO A CONTRACTOR WOW WHAT A HELL OF A WAY TO GO. Funeral was a closed casket funeral until the family said this don't sit right and they had her body dug up in an independent forensic specialist said I'm sorry to inform you but it's not an ordinary suicide in the case is closed for the FBI in the army CID is concerned
I'm trying to hold back my tears.
True
I saw a tap out video where a soldier was standing there for over an hour because there was no one to tap him out. He was an orphan and didn't have many friends. He stood there and never broke formation but you could see in the video there were tears on his face. A random stranger came and tapped him out then hugged him and the soldier was so happy. All the stranger said was: "You are loved. Thank you for your service." We need more people like that in this world.❤❤
❤😢❤
This story breaks y heart. God bless the soldier and the stranger. The stranger was there for that purpose.
That just broke my heart 😢

wow😢 I felt that
Didn't have anyone at my graduation, i was lucky to be noticed by a man who ill never know the name of but it was the most heart wrenching day for me, i just wanted my family to be proud

To all the soldiers who didn't have anyone there to patch them, we love and appreciate you!!! Thank you!✌️🇺🇸
I wonder how long they have been doing this? They didn't do this when I was in.
@@tattooedman42 I'm not sure. Definitely a big moment for any parent and their kid I'm glad it's a thing now, for all those "hard ass" dads it gives their kids a moment to see them break and all those tough kids and parents get a chance to break while they are required to maintain composure! An ultimate test!
That’s really cool what you wrote. Respect ✊🏽
We love u more❤
our DS’s patched us after we finished the 10 miler which ended the forge. it was cool, but i could see how your parents doing it could be nice.
I had my patch put on me by my Drill Sergeant, my platoon had 3 Drill Sergeants. I chose this particular one because he was hard on us, but more in a fatherly way. He inspired & motivated me to go through RASP. When I was nervous about rasp he told me if I give 100% pass or fail, that I will be a success in my career. I’m beyond thankful for him
Did you make it?
Crazy…25 years ago this type of scenario didn’t occur with the BDU uniform. We had patches that needed to sewn on and that obviously can’t happen in formation. Different times.
Thank you for your service!!! God bless and watch over you always!!! ❤❤❤

I can feel all the emotions and pain for the soldiers that were not patched by “anyone”. Nothing more depressing then watching everyone you train with get patched by their fathers, mothers, wives, brothers, friends, while you stand at attention, watching from your own personal hell from the corner of your eye. Some of these soldiers family may have had a reason, but most come to the realization that after hopping on that bus to their duty station, it will be just them and them alone from here out. If you ever go to a ceremony, and see a soldier not pinned or patched by anyone, please take the time to honor him and pin him yourself, it will stay in his memory forever like it did mine.
The drills asked us if we wanted them to patch us if we didn’t have anyone coming. We got to choose which drill, I choose the one that smoked the shit out of us as a joke, but damn when he patched me he whispered to me proud of you (last name) and then shook my hands. I always acted like a jokester but damn that got me ain’t finna lie😮💨

Almost made me cry, thank you for sharing. I’ll definitely keep this in mind for future reference
This is something I will never forget fr, specially when family is a big part on you not giving up, I remember doing the last ruck March and man all I kept telling myself is keep
Moving forward and make your family proud so when I was sitting there waiting for my family and they didn’t showed up I was just like you said in my own little hell & that’s when one of my ds the one that just wanted to smoke us all the time came up to me and patched me and my closest friend there his mom and family saw me all alone so his mom came and hugged me and told me I’m proud of you son, when I tell you holding those emotions there where hard… but like you said a moment I will never forget ever. #11B

One of the only people in the world that can make a man cry is his father
I teared up when I got blood wings from my father at jump school as one of the first "third generation paratroopers". My bottom lip almost ran away too.
I got to pin blood wings on a young man who attended my Jr. Rifle class . He used to hang around after class and talk about military history with me. A buddy and him, stopped by juniors one night, and he asked if I would do it. I replied I never served, and I wasn't worthy, but he insisted. He made an old man cry, the greatest honor I've ever received. He went to Afghanistan, and kind of had an idea what his parents went through. Thank GOD he came home. Spc. J. Littleton, they don't make them like you anymore ! Proud to call you my friend !
@@tracysturgill9146 you were worthy because you were there when he needed you.
Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸
@@tracysturgill9146 what is blood wings,? Please answer...
@@elsahilario529 a badge pinned on the uniform in the shape of a small pair of wings. They have 2 needle like projections on the back, normally held on with some tabs to keep from being poked. These are left off, and the wings are punched, driving them into the flesh of the recently graduated air born soldier. The Army doesn't allow this anymore, but the tradition lives on, off base. It's a right of passage, that i haven't earned the right. It meant the world to me. Greatest honor ever bestowed upon this grateful old man. Thanks for asking, hope I made sense.

Hardest job ever!!!! Holding those tears when your dad doesn’t show tears because real men don’t cry.
This goes to show that fathers hold such an extremely important part of any child's life! God bless them both ❤️🙏🏼
