The 80's was the best decade ever!!!! Reckless, fun, drunk, anything goes.....I feel bad for anyone who never experienced that decade. This video brings back so many awesome memories of my teens
Canadian right here!! This song was released the year I was born. I honestly believe this is the best Canadian 80s rock song ever. The runner up is Burning in Love by Honeymoon Suite
I have always loved this song I remember listening to it back in the day when it was out! The video totally encapsulate what the 80s was like! I finally saw them when they came to Winnipeg a few years ago, even though Paul looks different, same eyes same voice, he bent down and we kissed on the lips during the song. Then at the end when he's singing that part you are such a sweet thing he looked right at me and pointed at me, dying! Swoon!
I met them at the Music Store in Charlottetown in the early 80s, then saw them live at St. F.X. With the release of this album. They opened with this song and I could feel the bass through my heart! Heavy!!!
This band brings back so many memories of my teen years. This cassette was playing as my mom drove my best friend home one night. The tape flipped to the next side and was quite for a few seconds then this song came on. Lol I thought my mom was going to have a heart attack as this song yelled out DROP THE NEEDLE!!! Too funny 😂 Still makes me giggle every time I hear this song!
Super-charged!!! Nobody can say that there is not some great rock coming out of Canada. They have plenty of talent floating around up there!! We are happy is trickles down here to the states.
@@OVI-Wan-Kenobi-8 During this time period, Haywire would have been playing events that a 10 year old might have been to. That being said, the performance footage for this isn't from an actual concert. 100% just for the video.
Don't even know who we have now to rock out this country? Tragically Hip are getting old and the bare naked ladies never did it for me. Who's out there now I don't know?
OK I got out and seen One Bad Son and the Trews. Oh my fuck can the Trews rock it out and One Bad Son wasn't bad at all. I want to see the trews again but I am in New Brunswick and they don't come down here too much. I'm glad they made it to Shediac this year!
I remember growing up listening to Haywire, I had no idea that they were from PEI, and I live in Charlottetown, so when i found out in my late teens I was surprised and filled with pride! Then here about 5 years ago I started a new job, and the guy at the desk beside me began chatting with me,...we talked everyday for about 2 weeks, until one day somebody said...he is Haywires lead vocalist! Ya it was Paul Macausland...I ran to my desk and was like Paul...wtf man...you didn't tell me you sang with Haywire!! LOL...funny story! Hes a good guy...smokes my brand too we were smoking buddies haha!
Francois-Marie Arouet You call that rap crap music?..You're right they can't write, but I don't call it music..more like lines of crap spewed into a mic jammed to their mouth. Today's kids got NO idea what real music is.
J'ai acheté ce LP à sa sortie, un monument de l'AOR !!! Peu ont réussi à faire aussi bien.Tous les musiciens sont excellents , les chansons sont des pépites. Après tant d'années je l'écoute encore souvent. Trop trop bien.
i saw them in concert in 1987 when they were at the height of there fame. i was 16 at the time, and my friend and i were sprayed with hoses at the concert. the entire crowd was sprayed. it got so hot.! great concert. will never forget!
July 2021, my 1st encounter with this group! Diggin it! Looking forward to seeing what JD Fortune does when he plays live with them soon! Really proud of his hard work!😎
Two questions? Where was this music video filmed? Were the people hired to star in the music video or were they just filmed without knowing they had been filmed and put in a music video?
I LOVED LOVED LOVED HAYWIRE back in the day, more so before they went hardcore rock. Still Have this album somewhere in the house and even the 12 inch single of this tune!! Thanks for sharing!! LONG LIVE 80's Canadian Rock
I hung out with the lead singer after a gig in Toronto very very down to earth guy this was back in 87 when this single came out. I have all of their signatures on this 12" vinyl...
ARE THESE GUYS STILL PERFORMING?? would love to see them in concert!! canada had great rock bands back in the day.. HAYWIRE, HONEYMOON SUITE, PLATNUM BLOND, AND FROZEN GHOST!!
I gave a copy of DON'T JUST STAND THERE to a Mexican once when I used to live in Minneapolis. He really liked it. Let's go and DROP THE NEEDLE in MEHEECOE at the Cabo Wabo! Marvin, you'll have to get up and jam some Halen with Hagar. Free tequila for everybody all night long till we drop! Let's go AMIGOS! Let's ROCK!
Saw them here in Winnipeg finally 5 years ago or so...the sexy line Paul says at end..he pointed right at me..and before that he bent down and kissed me on the lips...same eyes..same voice
Remember this video on Much when I was a young kid. Used to sing it to my buddy that loves country music except I used to sing "nothing to do we love country music". Happy Canada Day 2020.
Canada has produced some great rock bands rush Brighton rock haywire saga killer dwarfs the list goes on great rock to be proud of this is one awesome track
The only song in history where the best part is in the first two seconds. DROP THE NEEDLE!!!! And the rest of it ain't nothing to sneeze at either. I STILL remember the first time I heard it on the radio and thought, "Now THAT's how you sing a rock song!" Canada, Muchmusic, Glass Tiger, Haywire, Honeymoon Suite, Bryan Adams, Tom Cochrane, the 80s. It was a good time to be alive, young, and Canadian. I wish I had taken the time to appreciate it more. 🇨🇦👆😃🤪 LL
I heard this song while on hold with the telephone company, on the music in the background they play while you wait...heh takes me back to the bar scene downtown halifax in the mid to late 80s oh the fun
One of the most powerful video's made in rock music! The energy is amazing! How do you top that video???? Great voice...great tune...hot chicks...it's got it all!

"Drop the needle!!!" First became aware of this one in a 1980s Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode. 😊 Great tune. 🎸🎤❤👍👍
Growing up in the 80s was great. Growing up in Canada during 80s was God!!!!

One of the greatest guitar riffs to start a song!
Oh man... this track, LOOOOVE! This was our Canadian "Lost Boys" vibe! Super underrated group, great writing, Haywire and Brian Allen = HIT
Ahh , the 80's ! When Canadian music was the absolute best.
Today Canada's music is represented by the likes of Nickelcrap and Justin Beiber.

It was miraculous... Id go back

Great Canadian Band. Great song.
Saw them live in the Soo in 91 and they really rocked the hardcore EastGate!

This is a speeding ticket song. You only can play it loud. I DJ and play this outside. So many people have never heard it before. Just a great song!!
I wouldn't call it a speeding ticket song, it's not like it's Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart" or LA Guns' "Electric Gypsy".
80s Toronto...Hell yeah!!
Yeah what a shit hole.
Today's Toronto is more like Tehran, Bagdad, or Islamabad.
Before cultural enrichment.
Hung out with the guitar player after their gig in Kitchener. Marty was a sweetheart. I liked him because he talked to my face and not my legs
I love Haywire today as I did in the 80's nothing has changed and never will
