I’m in Houston I got top dasher this month and can dash anytime- love it ! Been making 30$ an hour past couple days !
I wouldn’t have taken the add ons for Uber. Neither of those people tipped and quite frankly don’t deserve service.
I am right there with you. No tip? Too bad! (but, sadly, someone will pick it up so we're really not teaching that customer a lesson!)
Non-tippers never deserve a delivery from any dasher 🚮
@@kev7161 Many don’t receive their orders with no tip. Plus it will consistently be unassigned to avoid a hit to any dashers AR. It’s all about how you finesse or shake them off when you have double priority.
@@kev7161lot of customers complain their food is soggy and cold so in a way non tippers gets cold food 😅
What I find they do is they stick them in a stacked order that looks good. It looks good for 2 orders n the milage, but when done n you see what you were paid you will see 0 tip on 1 of the orders. That really stinks, it should be left to the driver if they want to deliver such an order, no gratitude or appreciation from some people!
DoorDash used to be good before acceptance rate matters. Now I'd rather work a normal job. They deleted the freedom and discretion that made the job good.
I haven't been using DD much the last 2 weeks, Grub Hub and Uber Eats have been throwing way better offers. Also started doing Uber X which has been awesome for the late nights.
I’m at 89% acceptance, top dasher, still getting $2 orders, declined 4, now at 84% bunch of bs! I just like being able to work whenever I want, but other than that, no other benefit.
Exactly! It's bullshit, decline and immediately lose a point but seems to take 10 or more accepts to gain a point. Dash anytime is the only benefit to Platinum from what I can tell and I'm still deciding if it's worth the trouble.
I turn down orders that are not with my time to take. As a top dasher, these garbage orders shouldn't even come my way. The only thing that should matter is the the customer ratings. If those are high then, we are doing everything else that needs to be done. We shouldn't be punished for not wanting to work for nothing.
Yah me too. I'm 87% and a 4.89 rating still get crap orders even during dinner rushs
I hate getting and accepting a short distance (min cash) order - thinking it'll be a quick 5 min run, and end up waiting 15 minutes for the order...
Something worth mentioning, as you accept more orders to play the AR game, you WILL get orders thar take you out of your submarket. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but my experience is that unless you are more than 5 minutes out, or in a really good area, you should pause immediately. From what I've seen, about 90% of their "gift" orders to get you back are trash that cost you more than the 5 minutes pause time
When I am landing in an area that could take me in another direction and I am worried about my AR- I always shut off my future orders.....so I don't get something I don't want. It has worked really well as I take some deals that are on the highway and are quick....but I won't take other offers while there as it takes me further away with NO highways....
Seems also, when I hit a higher acceptance rate, dd starts sending me garbage orders, more than usually. Feels like they are deliberately trying to keep my rate from going to high.
@@stevensimanek330 This has been my experience as well. I take some mediocre orders to keep it in the 70+ range thinking that it’ll help me out during lunch and dinner. But during those times I’ll get spammed like 3-6 very bad offers in a row that just forces me to turn off the app. A lot of times this has happened to me when I’ve been 80+.

That volume issues that you mentioned I've seen in the Erie market as affecting midpeak time periods there does appear to be a lower volume of dispatching. The dispatching typically would be retail shopping deliveries with a respectable margin. Biggest frustration is the specialty orders that are holiday or seasonally related especially like you know candy on Valentine's Day or Easter candy on Easter where you have issues finding specific products cuz they already been hit. I got converted to Platinum when the program rolled out here in Erie and on an hour comparison basis I averaging 30 to 35% more than your level at silver in your market in Pittsburgh. I just wish I could go back out like I used to lol.
My Acceptance Rate plan is if it’s at least $1/mile, not going anywhere dangerous, and not going anywhere out of town. Right now my AR is 38%
The only statistic a driver needs to pay attention to is dollars per order.
Dollar per mile for me. I have a low AR (20 something percent). What i've noticed is when there is peak pay, most of the orders are worth taking. On Easter I made like 30 an hour. When there is no peak pay, I get garbage offers mostly, and my AR tanks further. Yesterday, I did approximately 2.5 hours and came away with 50 bucks (6:30 PM to 9 PM).
For someone who's been doing DD for 3 years and never had an AR higher than 30%, this is the content I want to see in regards to the new tier program. How it actually works for people in silver status and below. All these other people I've watched were in great markets to begin with and have no problem keeping their AR in the 70+ range. So of course it'll be no different for them.
Alot of restaurants say ready and then make you wait. 5 to ten 😂😅
I see $5 for 1.5 all the time saying my Platinum status got me the order. 🙄 I’ve pretty much given up on DD it’s absolute trash in my market
In my market they consider high paying anything $4+ and paying at least $2/mile
Here's what doordash should do for the drivers - they should charge their fee and a driver's fee, say $2 a mile from restaurant to destination. Then acceptance rates should never be an issue.
My market in utah definitely has order volume issues! Im not sure if it's because there are too many dashers or no orders. There are days with a lot of sitting between orders. Im a top dasher and i still have this problem!
So I've been dashing two weeks now. How do I know my status? Also based on your other video, I like time over per dash. I'm in JAX FL. Time covers the no tippers and my drive time seems to be longer, so my average dash is $7 - 11. figuring out the weather areas too.
They need to not call any orders paying under $7 as High Paying- no matter the miles. That is not high paying. I refuse to accept crap for a month to get to Silver or whatever status
what you can do, is pick an adjacent zone, and work on "Dash on the way". That's what I do and I receive orders, but only orders that are delivered to the zone you chose.
I will take those add ons if it is at the beginning of my shift as in my market it will push me further into the algorithm
You might think I'm crazy but by NOT having a Red card I'm guaranteed to get almost ALL restaurant orders. My other strategy is to accept ALL orders. I've been a top Dasher ever since i started and I average what i made for the day by the time it took and I make roughly $22 an hour. The mileage always seems to come to right around $1.50 earned per mile, but I'm constantly on runs during my Dash. Never a dull moment
That's a good way of lying to yourself. Meanwhile we're driving around spot to spot waiting in offers half an hour and an hour and a half in between offers.
The fact that nobody counts those hours which waste your gas and takes toll on your body is baffling to me.
I went from 95% down to 65% once the Platinum status started. The orders I get now are just down right trash. The only benefit I like from platinum is to be able to Dash Now. My market was taken over by catering companies so DD never has large orders to give out. Platinum = Pointless
lol today I turned down a KFC order for $2.00 dollars. Then 30 seconds later I see a stacked order for KFC and Five Guys and it is good. So I think I am getting the bad stacked with a good one from Five Guys but it turned out I wasn't. Like 3 drivers came in the restaurant while I was waiting for the big order and every driver got asked if they where there for this order from the employees. For like 10 minutes every driver said no and that order got put back on the shelf without heat.
I am like OMG! As my order was finally ready and I bagged it. Someone finally came and got the bag sitting on the shelf for like 30 minutes with no heat. I thought poor dasher...
That’s happened to me first of the month… they explained I have to wait until the second for my top dasher to take effect 😢😤
in my city the new tier program hasnt started so my 69% gets me some high orders but when i went to my moms house in los angeles my screen change to the newer tier and i was gold in that city and when i went back home it went back to reg screen

I schedule my shifts a week in advanced they reset after 12am im scheduled every day 12 hours a day without fail
I average $10+ per delivery and I sit around 8-12% AR most of the time. I do no shopping or COD orders and most days I can get on dash now within 20 Mn. I only dash for fun and extra $, so if this was my main income I wouldn’t be so choosy. My area also is not accepting new dashers currently. I love all your theory testing.
In some places it allows you to schedule at 3 pm and 12 am, check in your area if it allows you at 12 am
9:41 I’ve been getting good volume in my market, but we do not have the new program yet. I have top dasher and it says I get more orders when it’s slow so that is probably a factor. I also noticed I get more orders if I dash one hour at a time. I let the dash end every hour and then get back in and get orders right away.
Starting my 4th week as a Dasher. I started cherry picking then after week 2 worked my way to Platinum. The only true benefit being Platinum is Dash Anytime. In my area the restaurants are crazy busy or friggin too slow so I tested earn by time and it paid out better as far as base pay but they will throw you quite a bit of trash runs, to counteract this I drive just a tad under the speed limit. I track everything and I actually make about the same amount either way, average around $24 an hour. One more thing I discovered trying other towns around me is that if it says very busy +3.00 there is not another dasher there or very few but not many orders either, I hit dash now and the map went to grey so I ended dash it turned back to very busy +3.00, I did this 3 times just to verify my assumption. It was a small town.
With Easter promotion of 3 dollars extra I pulled a $28 an hour night. Every offer was a diamond order since we do not have that new program in my market yet. Solid night.
Uber eats has been dominating door dash lately. Unfortunately my area doesn't have it😒

Platinum status is where you want to be. Very good orders and higher dollars to mile. Also, I seem to get more worthwhile stacked orders..
I don't take any orders under $8 and that includes add-ons
Lil heads up even at 92% AR I'm still getting dumb orders we are talking 8 miles travel with 10$ pay keep in mind i still have to head back to my power strip, ADAPT or get left behind kinda deal, Drive EZ out there Potnas
You either have the greatest market of all time or accept terrible offers to maintain 92 AR mine hasn’t been over 25% since the 2nd month doing this 😂
i wouldn't take any of those first few orders/add ons, unless there's a quest going on. not worth it for $3 for 15-30 mins of work whether it's barely any miles or not
Exactly, those $1 and $3 add ons aren't worth it. The wait time alone for the new request could hurt a lot at the Wendy's

So my a r is at fifty percent and I am limited to scheduling dashes unless the area is red. I worked the other day 8 hours.Barely broke twelve bucks an hour. Is disappointing. Ran into a ton of people dashing. I have loaded other apps on my phone to multi am at the same time. Even considering the driving to a different zone i'm working. I was accepting orders.I normally wouldn't accept trying to get my A.R up. I have to wonder if it's really worth it because the previous weekend.I average nineteen dollars an hour and worked four hours. Is much more profitable. Have to consider sticking to at least the two dollar per mile rule and forego the rating. Curious what others are doing

It was only recently that Uber Eats began to allow "Add a delivery" offers AFTER you already have confirmed/began the route to your customer's dropoff.
It's been like that for years for me.

I never make more than the hourly rate In NYC. And you only get paid when you're active. So I take my time.
door dash and uber did a 180 in my market over the last 5 months, doordash got super slow, and uber eats has been popping off. monday- wednesday uber eats is totally dead in my market, but friday-sun I can easily make 2 or 3 hundred from 8am to 4pm. especially those walmart pick up and deliver grocery runs. they are busted here. 18 to 30 dollars a trip to just got on average 8 miles, and they will usually throw a triple stack of them at you while waiting for ya first order. I'll be in that parking lot losing my mind doing the grubby hands meme pose like a loot goblin in my van waiting on those orders. Edit: I have the uber eats delivery in progress sign also, and it has gotten me outta soooooo many parking tickets.
They took out dash now option for platinum, too. Now platinum n gold have "priority" when the region goes red, but can't dash on grey anymore. T.T

Hi Mike can you tell us why we only get paid 1 base pay on a batched order with 2 pickups n 2 stops please? On the app it says " base pay is per order", peak pay is " per order " n they pay that....???

Stack orders used to have its own base pay but DD is cheap n stealing from drivers so they changed “order” to “offer” so they can pay u 1 dollar base pay for stacked orders. Wouldn’t be surprised if they do the same with peak pay smh
Has it happened to anyone that when you turn down 1/2 awful orders they send you awful orders after that, it's like they penalize you for not taking them.
So fast food places shouldn’t tell the app doordash that the food is ready for pick up then they make me wait along time for the order.
Exactly, I know some restaurants are being seedy with their apps too but the way the system works DD should reprimand them on that eventually bc they can see it's not lining up with accurate pick up times.
In my area DoorDash just became non-viable because so many of the restaurants just hook DoorDash into their online ordering and it just marks every order as ready at the default time. Nobody even operates the tablet at 90% of restaurants in the area. It's just not a viable job if you wait 15 minutes at every pickup. The food being ready was actually surprising every time, like once per shift. Ridiculous.
@@YourDriverMike if you call and report it, doordash will do something about it, The Harolds chicken in my market got kicked off doordash for this, We would all take screen shots of the doordash message "XYZ's order at Harolds Chicken is ready for pick up" only to show up and them say "we're starting it now." cause they would always point at the sign that says "We're not fastfood, all orders are made to order."
Easter Sunday evening was awesome in Winston-Salem. I made $80 in 2.5 hours. And there were hardly any cars on the road.
total opposite for me, 90% of places were closed. The few places that did open the workers didnt understand why it was open. Panera bread order I took i was like "yall been busy today?" and the manager did the thousand yard stare and was like "your the 5th person to be in here in the last 8 hours.

Sure, I declined at least 2 based on my screenshots. Maybe another 1 I didn't screenshot, sitting at 51% AR after this shift so I'll have to accept a bit more next time.
I was Platinum & every order was $2-5 to miles double or triple the pay out. My acceptance rate became 78% real fast. I decided if the perks of Platinum was getting all low ball offers, someone else could allow their time & vehicle be disrespected. Priority in my city has become solely to dash anytime. Too many rotten dashers ruining gig work for those that give positive delivery service & they’ve caused the tips to become awful. Logged out & deleted the app.
I’m right there with you. I’m in CNY my market is so oversaturated it’s crazy. I was TD and making around $25-$30 now it’s $17-19 terrible upside down orders like I’ve never seen. I’m done too
I mean...there is a loophole to that dash now thing if you're not platinum... but i'm not spoiling that.

I am not sure I make a ton more with Platinum status but won't give it up.....I take a 2 or 3 daily that are not great but I think its worth it in the end. I am busy daily and only do breakfast and lunch and I am almost always over 20 hr. When I do some dinners I get much more but prefer being home with the family.

My market is still a Diamond zone with Top Dasher for 70% acceptance, 95% completion with 4.7 or greater rating and 100 deliveries in the month. I hope your system never gets to my market.

I never take 2 dollar orders for any distance. I only except 7 dollars and up 3.5 miles. Larger orders up to 8 miles. I don't care about acceptance rate. It's not worth your time and you lose money instead of making it if you cheapen yourself by taking no sense orders.
Uber is throwing the orders out and wants to keep adding on and want us to have at least 3 in the vehiclenwith us
Which I'm fine with but the margins have to be there. $1 is not it. $3 minimum for say .5 miles but I NEED to know it's ready for pickup if I'm taking that. Otherwise $5 minimum.

I'm Platinum level, and most days, once I get rolling, I rarely stop. I do a lot of shop and deliver, and since I know the stores, I complete them generally in about half the time they estimate for shopping time. I also do a lot of alcohol orders. It works well for me, but it could just be my market, and the way I've adapted to my market.

I'm in the Seattle area. Been doing this for years. I keep my acceptance rate around 90%. I made platinum almost every month and I'm still getting a lot of $3 and 275 rand I take them if they're only a mile or 2. Just so I can keep the - now going.But I haven't seen any great paying orders.Because I'm at the platinum.They'll send me a three dollar order and say that's I paying orders because of your platinum status😮
Even if he doesn't take those offers someone would do them anyway. DD is supposed to give him good orders and give trash orders to either silver or gold with this new program. I think people pay less tips and ordering not as much as before cause DD keeps raising its price...
@@jhlim2000 Everyone who delivers trash offers is to blame for the poor pay and lack of high paying offers. DD still has high order volume, however, it doesn't have much high paying offers due to dashers training customers they don't need to tip to get their orders. Reap what you sow. Stop complaining about what you created.

I just schedule 10:30am to 9pm everyday. I Pause Dash from 4:30-5:45p to eat dinner and walk my dog. I usually End Dash early around sunset unless its Peak Pay.

I've always cherry picked orders and had to change that when boosting my AR to 50%. I hear you, cherry pickers waiting for the high margin orders will feel it. Not the best system when high paying offers are walled off behind these high ARs. Gets dashers to accept lesser paying orders to qualify
