Hi there! I made these and the thick rice paper noodles with my 15 yr. Old daughter tonight. We loved them both so much! Very fun to cook. Your channel has gotten her excited to try new things. We've saved so many of your recipes to do in the future. Thanks for being so cool and also family friendly. I appreciate your super fun, high energy delivery along with super tasty food. Keep up the wonderful work!
Tips: If you’re worried of having a -constarch taste, add a little at a time until you can touch it with no residue. -I personally prefer making them the size of smiley fries, they taste like fries with cheese inside. Making them bigger makes the inside have more mashed potatoes. You can decide which one you like! -You can use garlic butter or add extra spices if you like. -Don’t be scared if the cheese leaks! You’ll still have a lot inside. To seal the area the cheese is leaking out of, I got a spatula and pressed the leaking cheese against the crack until it fried to seal it. -If anyone wants to pre make them and fry them another day, I would recommend not to as overtime it does lose a lot of the starch and starts to crack more, but you can definitely try!
Really good recipe!! I read the comments and read that it tastes like cornstarch so i added less cornstarch and lots of seasoning like garlic, adobo, and onions. I also decided to add some chicken! This recipe is a really great base for some yummy snacks. My family loved it ❤️ thank you!
Honestly luv, you are the greatest thing to hit UA-cam in a minute!!!! Love your approach and your funny sketches. I am cooking with my nephew and your videos are so engaging, he is so excited about cooking. Thank you for being uniquely you, watching brings me so much joy! Bon Appétit!
I totally agree. I only just found her today in the middle of the night but was instantly captured. i am obsessed with rice paper cooking right now and she showed up and instantly made my life that much better and my obsession LEGIT. Earned my sub right away.
Don't skimp out on the spices and add some olive oil to add that stretch factor to the dough. Sugar and salt definitely complement each other here but definitely lean towards the salt, try a fresh garlic salt to really up the flavor. Slow and steady wins the race, you don't wanna skimp out on the maillard reaction. Don't over knead the dough it'll get too gloopy and lose it's structure when cooked. Finally, try this with fresh goat cheese instead. It really adds a tangy boost to the crunchy savory flakey exterior. This was a great dish to try out with leftover ingredients, don't be bummed out if it doesn't come out perfect the first batch.
Ooooh, I just found what to make for Sunday lunch. 😄All the comments saying these don't taste good puzzle me a bit, because (as long as the ingredients were of good quality) I've never really had a potato+cheese combo that tasted bad . 🥔🧀I'm also someone who tends to enjoy foods others find somewhat bland that focus on only one or two dominant flavours, so I am very curious how I will like these. I'll report back!
Made these and they were so good! I would just say to make smaller versions and fry the whole thing rather than leaving that white area in the middle, otherwise the inside is like mash potatoes. Ofc some people like that and that’s okay! I just find making them smaller gives the outside more of a French fry texture all the way through and there’s no mushy parts and I personally prefer that
Sis.. I made this recipe at 2 AM on a whim and honestly it was an abomination to potatoes and cheese just awful 😭 It was like biting into flavorless mashed potatoes, the cheese was super melty but all of its flavor got muted out by the flavorlessness of the potato and tasted super bland. Fry anything that’s bland and absorbent and tada.. tastes like OIL. Because I instinctively knew this was going be flavorless, I made half your way and the other half of the recipe with spices mixed into the potatoes - salt pepper garlic and paprika, and it was seriously still not good at all. Regardless I still thumbed up the video because it was entertaining, edited well, and inspired me to cook but I’m just reporting back my results 😂
It might be good if there was maybe garlic butter on the outside whenever it’s done frying like what they put on pizza crust, it might be good and add some good flavor I’m not sure though
how much of the seasoning of each did you put into it? i’m curious cause i wanna try this and imma potato fiend…you don’t think it could’ve been better w some seasoning added on top (exterior) too?
low key I feel like you might've just not used enough salt or seasoning to the ratio of potato you used? I feel like with enough salt any potato can taste amazing haha
It's Gracelyn again! I was just wanting to take a look at this awesome video that I actually copied for my potato cheese pancakes! They turned out awesome thanks to this video you uploaded!❤ I'm obsessed with the potato pancake with stringy cheese inside!!!! 😆🤤😍
GRACELYNNNNNNNN!!!!!! AWWW YAYYY im so happy you loved it! isnt it so fun to make and eat?? you can never go wrong with cheese, i practically sprinkle it on everything i eat lol have a lovely week my friend!
So I love the recipe and the PCPs. Some things to know per the recipe, it can be a bland cheesy tater tot with a mashed potato middle. I modified the recipe to cater to my unrefined Americanized palate. So I fried them in bacon grease until both sides where firm and crispy, after grease soaked, I air fried them in my Ninja Foodi on 350 for 8 minutes. It crisped the sides as well. SOOOO goood!!! So frying pan first, then air fryer is the way to go. It tastes like an awesome potato based arepa.
I made these a little different and they where awesome I only added a little bit of cornstarch and I added chives to the dough. I also fried them in garlic oil which gave them a tone of extra flavor The dough split on my first try and the cheese came out so do be careful bc they are so fragile
I made this recipe for breakfast and I was super excited to try it. But unfortunately the crisp factor and cheese pull factor was there. But the cornstarch in it made the entire thing taste like cornstarch
Really? Try less constarch, add until you can touch with no residue. Then fry them. I would suggest making them the size of smiley fries, when I did that it tasted like smiley fries w cheese inside
Sorry for asking, but is there any difference between using corn/potato starch and basic flour? any taste changes? Thank you for this amazing recipe too~
but it was hard to get it to stay together when making the dough, tried putting it in the fridge for hour and it didn't really help when using the flour
I haven't tried the recipe but wanted to pass by and say that the video was funny af 🤣 I got hooked even though I had no plans of doing the recipe and enjoyed it 🥰

Your videos are SO fun :-) When you make these with leftover mashed potatoes or garlic mashed potatoes (which would both be salted) do you still add the sugar?
So I tried these but turns out the low and slow method doesn't work. The first batch was too oily and I did not get the results I wanted. Just like any starch, I tried high heat using a safflower oil and they worked! I got the brown and crispy bottoms along with the melty cheese center.

Just like any starch, I tried high heat using a safflower oil and they worked! I got the brown and crispy bottoms along with the melty cheese center. The only thing is you need to watch how quick they get brown. I airfried 3 and it dried the top layer but i got no brown sides. Hi, i am interested in doing these, yet i am not good ( and barely have any knowledge when it comes to cooking) but do i need starch or can it be skipped? Would appreciate if you reply and thanks for the good tutorial

@@faith7969adding sugar adds a good taste but don’t add too much add like a tablespoon with paprika and salt

I would recommend cornstarch
