Damnit. I was trying to make this cookie but my vanilla wasn't harvested from Madagascar, Africa.
If you can't harvest them from Madagascar Africa, then store-bought is fine!
@@k47marie71 why are you using your mommy's phone?

Huh?
They’re referencing Huggbee’s parody of this video, called “How It’s Actually Made - Chocolate Chip Cookies.”
0:40 now that’s a big block of butter 🧈
Was I not the only one that had a surprise reaction to the butter?
I mean, look at the mixer :D
In america that's normal sized.
Sam Leen nah, it’s bigger in America
@@norscored bro bigger? In America butter is larger than Pluto, Ceres and Eris combined lmfao
“It’s a closely guarded secret so we can’t tell you but uh **drops to a whisper** just multiply these two things”
I came straight to the comments to see if someone else noticed. I thought that was hilarious.
Then they give out the portion weight and sizing of the discs. Then later tell you time and temp for baking them. They're really giving it away on this one.
@@BPollard86 it's also just a super basic cookie recipe. The selling point is the convenience, and that it's exactly how you would make a cookie at home, as opposed to other producers which I assume use industrial tricks
@@JacobAvnerPr1mus3 Actually, the ingredients are out of order - eggs should be creamed, then flour, salt, soda, THEN chips last so they don't get all broken.
I feel like working in a cookie factory would ruin your taste for them. Every time you eat a cookie you would think of work
As they say, "Work with something you love and you will never love that thing again."
But think of the bright side, UNLIMITED COOKIES!
I think you could fairly take yourself inapropriate cookies, like broken, with too much salt, and etc.
As someone who did work for a cookie chain this is sadly true :( . But once I left I went back to my favorite cookies lol. It took me a couple months to like them again
Sweet, sweet work
Subtitles- they look homemade, they taste homemade, but this ho is a factory
Lol I caught that too haha
I read your comment right as it happened 😂
I swear to god that’s what he said
😂😂😂
Lol
One time at a conference I saw the catering people at the hotel with a box of these frozen cookies, this brand. when they served them they were SO good, so I asked the girl how to get them and she gave me the info of the food service rep they use. now i buy them in bulk and keep them in the freezer lol they are the best choc chip cookies i've ever had
yeah i once did voulenteering cooking food for a charity and they had those frozen cookies and they just come out perfect really soft and delicous, really surpising really.

@@RVMathew hehe.... spunk
It's that dark brown sugar they use. They have an excellent recipe

Who else is watching this whilst absolutely starving?
I am man. I could literally smell it through the screen
Lol that would be me.
My dad at all the cookie dough leaving barely any for my sister and I, this reminds me of that and makes me _sad_

Hey my name is José/ J.K.C.
Let's be real, this video will get recommended to everyone 5 years from now at 3AM
Hey, nobody's here! (yet)

Why on earth are people compelled to write the exact same comment under every video, it's so lame.
1Am here
Who needs five years when we have like 18 hours
Some tips for home bakers:
1) Weigh your ingredients! Including liquids and solids.
2) Don't use baking soda older than 6 months after opening.
3) After forming the cookie dough into rounds, place in the fridge for 24 hours to let the flavors meld.
4) Put some rock salt on top of the cookie to help even out the sweetness.
5) Consider substituting ALL of the white sugar for brown sugar.
6) Consider substituting half of the all purpose flour for cake flour for a softer cookie with a finer crumb.
7) Consider weighing the cookie dough rounds for consistency.
DO: The baker shall consume one cookie shortly after baking for quality assurance and reward of effort.
dumb suggestions. And we don't need more salt
At that point he'll get diabetes
If you just use brown sugar, you'll end up with a dense, wet cookie, not a soft fluffy one. But I like the dense cookies so that's what i would do
dam fine comment :)
i always tell people cookies are hard to make but they just dont understand

I don't need sleep. I need answer
I watched this at 4:00 am cause I was curious
Who needs sleep? I don't and I'm guessing you don't either.
Yes
I love How It's Made videos, ever since I was a kid, but to realize they really went out of their way to produce a segment on good ol' cookies
Cookies have a word in Latin. That’s enough justice to run a segment on just cookies in my book
Well, that's one way to bake cookies.
Why have I never heard of a single company that makes it on this show
There are lots of companies that don't make things for the general public, but rather for commercial purposes. Grocery stores or restaurants are probably their main customers.
because you eat cheap cookies from grocery stores
@@Hirungolwe don't call me out like that
The show is also based in Canada so a lot of the things that are made here are Canadian
@@Hirungolwe shhhh
I'll finally rest easy knowing my storebought cookie dough doesn't have any metal particles in it.
Rat hairs. Insect legs. Dirt from the ventilation. Skin flakes from the workers. But, dammit, no metal! :)
@@CommanderBalok I think I would rather have rat hair instead of metal particles.
@@CommanderBalok can't complain about skin flakes, always good to have the extra protein in your diet
@@CommanderBalok heat kills then bacteria from those things, metal just softens for a while

I freaking love that narrator's voice, for some reason
I got these as a gift one time when purchasing a car from a dealership these are seriously the best cookies. They are located in Nashville TN maybe some other places too
Just imagine the aroma these workers had to endure in the factory ☺
00:40 When the recipe says "one cube of butter" 😂
That was one good cookie of a presentation.

I love the storytelling behind these videos! A great example of what to strive for for us smaller channels!

Now I'm waiting for a "How It's Actually Made" version of this episode.

I clicked that expecting a regular how it's made and was extremely disappointed, yet intrigued
2:23 a cookie doe piece fell look in the bottom left

Me when the recipe says "salt to taste"
I think we can all agree that subway has the best cookies
:P
I just priced these cookies in a bulk order box as shown in the video and they are over $1 per cookie. to expensive. subway is like .50 cents
RC Repairs wtf subway is $3 per cookie in my country
Subway has the best oatmeal raisin cookiesin my opinion. Tasty’s ultimate chocolate chip recipe is the best chocolate chip cookies in my oppinion but dang are subway cookies good
I always get 1 cookie instead of chips
They cost 1.4SGD, which is exactly 1USD
26 Famoter / Lee Hong Hui a dollar per cookie isn’t a lot of money when you take account the 10$ minimum wage
I miss watching this show. Old school,
If you think I'm watching without eating cookies your a madman
I love how the ending felt like an ad
I think we all grew up watching this, at least if you were the "nerd" type lol but I don't care loved this show almost as much as I did Mythbusters
Never seen that much butter at once in my whole like :o
Help, I can’t watch these anymore without hearing Huggbees voice
0:42 damn that a lot of butter - n o i c e
I came here from "how its really made" and i can't stop thinking about the things he said there while watching this.

I always thought stuff just just existed I never knew they actually made stuff like this
Best dessert ever! Love Chocolate Chip Cookies so much.
And then you find out where Vanilla comes from... Though from some research the Vanilla we all eat is in fact Synthetic so yeah.
I've gotten too used to "how it's actually made" that I can't watch these normally anymore
I feel like I’m the only one that watches this to fall asleep

Thanks for this useful recipe! I'll try this!
That industrial block of butter lives in my dreams, and nightmares
I remember the origin story differently. I remember it being pre-civil-war America and the baker being a slave. Her master loved chocolate cookies, but she ran out of the ingredients. So she tried the method described and created chocolate chip cookies. She presented them to her master, and he loved them even more than normal chocolate cookies.
$15 a dozen for a frozen uncooked cookie is insane.
Well if its real vanilla and organic not too much of a stretch
I charge $20 a dozen
Why is this so relaxing???
These are some legit cookies. Deliciously nice
