- Into the Light brought some new lore along with it. Lore that plays right into the Final Shape and the plans of the Witness. Today we dive through the lore tabs, dialogue and activities and explain the backstory of what’s going on here. The goal of the Witness, the creation of new re-issued banned weapons to defend ourselves and much more.

Having banned weaponry in the first place when the universe is in danger is wild.
Not unrealistic though. Just look at the rates of violence in places like Chicago, Detroit, New York, any of the big Californian coastal cities, and then at the firearm restrictions put in place in those locations. Typical politician thinking, adopted by the Vanguard for some reason?

"Banned" is like a weird narrative in the lore when half of that gear is still available, if it was purely sunset gear than yeah I would believe that narrative choice but not like they did it. There were a bunch of cool sunset weapons that could've filled that spot.
@xuxon24 I wish we woulda gotten a bigger variety of archetypes. I almost never use special grenade launchers. I'm a shotgun dude. Sad we didn't get a single shotgun.

Hung jury is pretty cheeky with the boxed breathing perk. I remember the scourge of the past scout no distraction also having this perk. Hung jury Box breathing is ttk shifting in pvp . That box breathing perk hit so hard and it free

I like to believe that the Shadow Legion is fully destroyed post Lightfall. It just makes sense that the replicators (or whatever is used to sustain the army) was destroyed and we only still have them for game mechanics and stuff
I doubt it, the Typhon Imperator is a massive ship and not all of SL ships went down on Neptune. They are leaderless so we don’t really know there command structure.

It’s funny how the edge transit is a part of the banned weapons because in the early part of destiny 2 there was a problem with it having the highest drop rate
The eliksni fighting in the invasion are house salvation, they wear salvation colors and use stasis in some instances. Narratively it makes sense, they really have nowhere to go because Eramis went home choosing to abandon the struggle altogether, some may be able to join house dusk but they are in a subjugated position among the witness forces
I think now is a great time for you to do videos on character story arcs, such as Crow.
Onslaught feels like a canned activity from Lightfall. Given that the Pyramid fleet were hovering above Earth at the time it would have tied perfectly into the story but hey, they better not overdeliver!

@@lucasblanchard47it looks like lunas howl, it has the 4 holes on the top and the trigger and shape of the gun looks the same but for some reason it also has a weird suppressor or extended barrel that isn’t on the original or new model of the gun.
@@Jpow5734 that makes me think that it’s not Luna’s Howl, but something different that might be in the loot pool for Final Shape!

The best retcons and filler arcs are the ones that not only act as a natural and organic seeming extension or expansion to the main story and its events, but also serve and help move the greater plot forward.
This season to me, while filler in nature not only feels organic enough to justify its inclusion to the greater story , but even includes a mechanical benefit with how the new and unique weapon perks will greatly compliment the abilities we gain in the next expansion.
A meaningful and tangible benefit from its inclusion that persists even after its run its course and gone.

I thought it was strange so many eliksni were attacking the city, but since a couple of bosses are eliksni using stasis, I assumed they’re from house Salvation.
They’re from house of salvation. The house of light is our ally

I hope we see the forces of darkness attack the city, IN, the city… seeing pyramids over the city as that friendly fleet we have is scrambled about, the tower’s cannons blasting, flames about. Watching explosions and Pyramids vessels land on the ground…Shadow Legion ships, House of Darkness Ketches over the city. Hive Tombships blasting the skyscrapers and bunkers. All culminating in the final moments of destiny 2. The nye Second Collapse…

This is why I’m not excited for the final shape, this entire battle with the witness just doesn’t feel like the giant war that it should be. Like we’re supposed to be close to the end and soon will be fighting in the final climactic battle to finish this but ever since the season of arrivals which was the first time the witness had invaded our solar system since the collapse and yet it feels like the war has barely started and that nothing major has happened.
We need higher stakes, we need some destruction, we need some deaths especially in the last city because right now it doesn’t feel like anything is happening. Right now I’m not even worried that we might lose which is weird because nearly every character is worried and some are even having some major existential crisis because of the idea that the witness might win yet that isn’t translated at all onto the player because there isn’t anything serious that shows that another collapse could happen and it might be the end for humanity.
I want to see some massive battles on the ground, in the air and in space and I know it’s possible because we now have the entire armies and fleets of the last city, cabal, house light and the forces of Mara Sov so we have enough forces on our side to have these big, intense battles which are really needed right now because it feels like throughout the entirety of the destiny story it’s always felt like us and maybe a few other guardians in our fireteam is all the city has, the only times I have ever felt like an actual war was happening was in the taken king and the red war other than that it’s just felt like small little battles. I know it’s hard to raise the stakes when we are literally a god killer who can flatten entire armies but I still think there can be more done to make it feel like we are actually at war and are on the precipice of destruction.

In one of the final shape trailers you can see for a couple of seconds what looks like civilians looking up at the sky. The context behind that isn’t known, guess we got to wait until June
The thing is, even tho Eramis is outta the picture, Xivu Arath and the Witness did subjugate them, converting some into Scorn and Wrathborn. Ultimately, I think they’re still under their thrall.
It would have been cool if Wastelander was one of the weapons they brought back, because I imagine there would have been more lore about Xur or even the nine.

Anybody knows why the Fallen bosses in onslaught have the same symbols as taniks? If I'm not wrong they from House of Scar?

What if the reason our guardian is so unique is because we are a kind of anti-witness with the entire player base combined into this one character. Similar to how the witness is an entire civilization in one person. But that’s kinda a meta narrative thing so probably not canon.
I don’t know. There is lore of Savathun and ahamkara being aware of the 4th wall and beyond. I think Savathun even tried to break into our reality. So I wouldn’t put it past Bungie to write something like that.

The Traveler didn't just make one guardian.. lol. Sure in the earlier lore there were some instances where they refer to the guardian as one person, but that hasn't been the case in awhile. It's been obvious that each guardian is unique and the Traveler made plenty.
Would’ve been better if they just said augmented weapons. Feels weird we been fighting handicapped 😂

I just feel like we don't get that much perspective of the people of the city.. the city itself... we're always just focusing on us and the main characters.. we need more depth... we need to see the views from the inner city... I want to see more of that... Reactions... talks...
Do we know why these weapons are “banned” I know it says for being “to dangerous” but like how. What happened that made them to dangerous.
I've realized recently how dumb the Witness is. If he is concerned enough about us entering the Traveler, that his forces are laying siege to us now, why didn't he just wipe us out during Lightfall? Given how strong he and lore to back that up is, he could 100% have done it. He even had the time to do it given he had to wait for Calus to get to the Veil.
The only excuse I can think of was he didn't know it would take so long to enact his final shape after entering the traveler. In reality, I'm pretty sure its just a plot hol.
This is suppose to be our darkest hour but it never feels like it. It’s another Tuesday. The writing and the game has to reflect this . I feel like nothing bad is happening in game but the lore could be wilding but it’s not reflecting on the game
This is our greatest moment hence why lord shall the most powerful and hero of twilight gap is running the operation. And why the brave arsenal is so strong. No need to be afraid. This is our Best Moment away remember that

Have you also wondered why are there no Taken in onslaught? Taken and Dread are his best units . This is the Witness trying to overwhelming the good guys by attacking seige style. It is playing the general hoping onslaught prevent us from going in the portal. I want to know why no Taken?
Because it us that looked at this moment and decided to take the initiative in the war. Maybe the Witness intended for it to be our worst. But we are making it our best moment . We are rising to the challenge and crushing it . That is why no one is afraid. They are afraid of us. Just look

Time gating canon is weird. It shouldn't matter how much time it took or didn't take. The fact that it's in the game makes it canon by default.

They did specify 'dangerous' weapons
MountainTop/Forbearance these weapons are op. Every gun in thise arsenal Brave Arsenal broke the game or were exotic in ability to kill or because of random mix of perks that were never allowed to happen. Forbearance in Vow was a rare thing that had the frame/origintrait/ and perks that all came together to create the legend of the gun.
It's been bugging me ever since i saw the trailer. Why are there two Titans, two Warlocks but only one hunter in the trailer?

Bungie saying that the actual defeat of the Witness is in the raid, days after launch, and that they're making a solo version of the encounter post launch is a red fucking flag if ever I've seen one.

We are the anti Witness it obvious we are the winnoer and the Witness is the gardener. I remember that when guardian and Witness first met it was in the Black Garden. He looked like us and he asķ " dont you recognize us?" We have aways been the winnoer in that game and ìt knows that

Lord shax has shaped us in years of the crucible and he his Brave arsenal weapons are the strongest weapons he can give to us, hence why they are weapons that will take us into Final shape. Lord Shax has trained us and made us strong for this. For the final shape for the Witness.

The amount of lore he needs to cover is crazy. All the lore tabs, books and dialogues. And doing it almost everyday is probably pretty stressful ngl. But it's still fun to cover all that cuz its very interesting.
